# The best Apollo alternatives in 2026: what 1,000 contacts with mobiles really cost

Apollo charges 8 credits for a phone number and lets unused credits expire. We priced eight alternatives on the same list, from each vendor's own pages, and say who should stay on Apollo.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 15, 2026.

**Short answer:** The best Apollo alternatives in 2026 are Enrich.chat for contact data inside AI agents and apps, Lusha and RocketReach for self-serve prospecting with a Chrome extension, and ZoomInfo or Cognism for enterprise teams. For 1,000 contacts with an email and a mobile, [Apollo Basic](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) uses about $234 of credits. Enrich.chat needs 260,000 credits for the same list, about $46.80 at its Scale plan rate; the plan itself is $90 a month.

## Key takeaways

- Apollo charges 1 credit for an email and 8 for a phone number, and unused credits, add-ons included, expire at the end of each billing cycle.
- For 1,000 contacts with an email and a mobile, published monthly rates come to about $234 on Apollo Basic, $495 on Kaspr Business, $498 on UpLead Plus and $699 on Lusha Pro. Enrich.chat needs 260,000 credits for the list, about $46.80 pro-rated at its Scale plan rate, and the plan is $90 a month.
- ZoomInfo, Cognism and Seamless.AI do not publish prices. Vendr's buyer data puts the median ZoomInfo contract at $33,500 a year.
- Apollo's standard plans are for internal business use, so apps and AI SDR tools built on its data need a separate agreement.
- Apollo is still the better buy if your team runs sequences, calls and a Chrome extension from one seat.

## The verdict

For teams that use Apollo mainly for contact data, **Enrich.chat** is the lowest-cost swap on the list we priced for this workload: work emails and mobile numbers from one prompt, credits spent only on matches, and unlimited seats.

- Best for AI agents and apps: Enrich.chat (One prompt in any agent, unlimited seats)
- Best self-serve swap: Lusha (Chrome extension, monthly credits that roll over)
- Best flat yearly price: RocketReach (Unlimited lookups on yearly plans, misses refunded)
- Best for enterprise teams: ZoomInfo (Intent data and org charts, sold by quote)
- Stay on Apollo if: Apollo (Your reps run sequences and calls inside it)

## Why do teams look for Apollo alternatives?

Most teams leave Apollo over three costs: phone numbers that take 8 credits each, credits that expire every billing cycle, and per-seat plans. All three are on [Apollo's pricing page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing), which we checked on October 15, 2026.

- **Mobiles cost 8 credits.** An email costs 1 credit and a phone number costs 8. On Apollo Basic billed monthly, $65 buys 2,500 credits, so one phone number works out to about $0.21. [Apollo's knowledge base](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4738396786701-Request-Contact-Data-in-Apollo) says it charges for any phone number it reveals and does not refund credits for mobile numbers.
- **Credits expire.** Apollo grants credits at the start of each billing cycle, and [unused credits do not roll over](https://www.apollo.io/pricing/about-credits). The pricing page says this applies to add-on credits too, and add-ons renew every cycle until you remove them.
- **You pay per seat.** Apollo Basic is $49 a seat a month billed yearly, or $65 billed monthly. Professional is $79 or $99. Organization is $119 a seat billed yearly, with a 3-seat minimum. Every seat on an account must be on the same plan.
- **Selection and send limits.** Apollo caps how many records you can select in one action: 25 on Free, 1,000 on Basic, 2,500 on Professional and 10,000 on Organization. Free and Basic also cap sends at 250 emails a day.
- **Internal use only.** Apollo's standard plans are for internal business use. Its pricing FAQ says that using Apollo data to power products for your customers needs a separate agreement with custom pricing. That is a blocker for many AI SDR tools and apps.

Data quality is the other common complaint, though reviewers are split. On [G2](https://www.g2.com/products/apollo-io/reviews?qs=pros-and-cons), Apollo rates 4.7 out of 5 from 9,845 reviews. G2's AI summary of those reviews lists "inaccurate data" (469 mentions) and "data inaccuracy" (420 mentions) among the top five cons. Ease of use leads the pros with 1,587 mentions. On [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/apollo.io), Apollo averages 3.1, and the site's AI summary says some reviewers report hard-to-reach support and rigid billing. Treat these as signals from reviewers, not test results.

**Figure 1: Apollo credits for one contact with an email and a mobile.** One contact with an email and a phone number uses 9 Apollo credits: 1 for the email and 8 for the phone. That is about $0.234 on Apollo Basic billed monthly and about $0.176 billed yearly. Enrich.chat uses 260 credits for the same contact, 10 for the email and 250 for the mobile, which is about $0.047 pro-rated at the Scale plan rate. The Scale plan itself is $90 a month, and a lookup that finds nothing costs 0 credits. Apollo grants credits at the start of each billing cycle and unused credits expire at the end.

*Apollo charges 1 credit for an email and 8 for a phone number, and unused credits expire at the end of each cycle. Dollar values are our arithmetic from Apollo Basic's published plans and from the Enrich.chat plan rate, pro-rated. Sources: [Apollo pricing](https://www.apollo.io/pricing), [Apollo Knowledge Base](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4738396786701-Request-Contact-Data-in-Apollo), checked October 15, 2026.*

If your team mostly buys emails, Apollo's credit math is cheap. If you buy mobiles, the 8-credit rate drives the bill. Our [Apollo pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-pricing/) breaks down each plan and its credits.

## How much do 1,000 contacts cost on Apollo and its alternatives?

For 1,000 contacts with a work email and a mobile each, Enrich.chat needs 260,000 credits, about $46.80 pro-rated at its Scale plan rate. The plan itself is $90 a month. At monthly self-serve rates, the same list comes to about $234 on Apollo Basic, $495 on Kaspr, $498 on UpLead and $699 on Lusha. RocketReach Pro works out to about $250, but it bills $899 a year up front.

| Tool | Plan and published rate | Cost of one contact | 1,000 contacts |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Enrich.chat | [Scale plan](https://enrich.chat/pricing/), monthly: $90 for 500,000 credits | 10 credits per email + 250 per mobile, only when found | About $46.80 pro-rated; $90 a month (Scale plan) |
| RocketReach | [Pro, yearly](https://rocketreach.co/pricing): $899 for 3,600 exports | 1 export, email and phone | About $250 pro-rated |
| Apollo | [Basic, monthly](https://www.apollo.io/pricing): $65 for 2,500 credits | 9 credits (1 + 8) | About $234 |
| Kaspr | [Business, monthly](https://www.kaspr.io/pricing): $99 a user for 200 phone credits, B2B emails unlimited | 1 phone credit | About $495 |
| UpLead | [Plus, monthly](https://www.uplead.com/pricing/): $199 for 400 credits | 1 credit, email and mobile | About $498 |
| Lusha | [Pro, monthly](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/): $69.90 for 600 credits | 6 credits (1 + 5) | About $699 |
| ZoomInfo | [Sales plans by quote](https://www.zoominfo.com/pricing); [GTM AI](https://gtm.ai/pricing) sells data credits, but mobile data needs an Enterprise package | 1 data credit per record | Not published |
| Cognism | [Standard or Pro by quote](https://www.cognism.com/pricing), 5 seats included | 1 credit per contact | Not published |
| Seamless.AI | [Plans by quote](https://seamless.ai/pricing) | Credits | Not published |

**Figure 2: Cost of a work email and a mobile for 1,000 contacts.** Bar chart of the cost of 1,000 contacts with a work email and a mobile each, at published self-serve rates: Enrich.chat about $46.80 pro-rated at its Scale plan rate, Apollo Basic about $234, RocketReach Pro about $250 pro-rated on an $899 yearly plan, Kaspr Business about $495, UpLead Plus about $498 and Lusha Pro about $699. ZoomInfo, Cognism and Seamless.AI publish no price for this list. The Enrich.chat plan itself costs $90 a month.

*Pro-rated cost at each vendor's published self-serve rate, billed monthly except RocketReach, assuming every contact returns an email and a mobile. Enrich.chat is pro-rated at its Scale plan rate too, but the plan is a fixed $90 a month. Seat minimums and unused credits are not counted. Sources: [Apollo](https://www.apollo.io/pricing), [RocketReach](https://rocketreach.co/pricing), [Kaspr](https://www.kaspr.io/pricing), [UpLead](https://www.uplead.com/pricing/), [Lusha](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) and [Lusha docs](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/usage-analytics/how-credits-are-counted), checked October 15, 2026.*

Pro-rating flatters the plans, because you rarely buy exactly what you use. That includes Enrich.chat: the Scale plan costs $90 a month, and this list uses 260,000 of its 500,000 credits. To get 9,000 Apollo credits in one month on Basic, you need four seats at $65, or $260, and the 1,000 credits you do not use expire. Kaspr's Business plan gives one user 200 phone credits a month, so 1,000 phones takes five licenses or five months. [UpLead's API docs](https://docs.uplead.com/) add one useful rule: a credit is only deducted when the email comes back Valid or Accept All.

Yearly billing lowers the rate but bills up front. The same list costs about $176 on Apollo Basic billed yearly and about $525 on Lusha Pro billed yearly. With Enrich.chat, credits are spent only on matches, so a list uses the credits of the matches it finds and the plan sets the monthly price. See the [Enrich.chat pricing page](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) to find the plan for your own mix.

## Which Apollo alternative fits your team?

Pick by how your team works, not by database size. If you run outreach inside Apollo, stay. If an AI agent or app does the lookups, use www.enrich.chat. If reps prospect on LinkedIn in a browser, try Lusha or Kaspr.

**Figure 3: Which Apollo alternative fits you.** A decision guide with four questions. If you run outreach inside Apollo, stay on Apollo. If not, and an AI agent or app does the lookups, use www.enrich.chat. If reps prospect on LinkedIn, use Lusha or Kaspr. If you need EU data or enterprise intent, use Cognism or ZoomInfo. Otherwise, use RocketReach or UpLead.

*A quick way to shortlist. Each answer names the tools whose published plans and features match, based on the vendor pages cited in the comparison on this page.*

- **Enrich.chat** fits agents, apps and buyers who want credits spent only on matches. Your agent reads one instructions file, then sends a LinkedIn URL, an email, or a name and company to the [person enrichment API](https://enrich.chat/api/person-enrichment/). You get a work email and a mobile number back, with a status on each field.
- **Lusha and Kaspr** fit reps who prospect on LinkedIn with a browser extension. [Kaspr's help center](https://help.kaspr.io/en/articles/8800588-kaspr-pricing-and-subscription-plans) notes that it needs a LinkedIn account with at least 20 connections.
- **RocketReach and UpLead** fit buyers who want published self-serve plans. RocketReach refunds a lookup that finds no verified email or phone. Our [RocketReach alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/rocketreach/) page compares it further.
- **Cognism and ZoomInfo** fit larger teams that want intent signals, org charts or European data, and accept quoted, seat-based plans. See [Apollo vs ZoomInfo](https://enrich.chat/compare/apollo-vs-zoominfo/) and [what ZoomInfo buyers pay](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-pricing/).
- **Seamless.AI** fits teams that want data and outreach in one tool and are fine with a sales call for pricing. Our [Seamless.AI pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/seamless-ai-pricing/) covers what is known.

## Is there a free alternative to Apollo?

Yes. Enrich.chat gives 10 free lookups a day with no signup, and Lusha, Kaspr and Seamless.AI have small free plans. Apollo's own Free plan includes 75 credits a month, enough for 9 phone numbers. We checked every free tier below on October 15, 2026.

| Tool | Free allowance | What to know |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Enrich.chat | 10 API lookups a day per IP | No signup, card or API key. A lookup that finds nothing is free and does not count. |
| Apollo | [75 credits a month](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) | Selection capped at 25 records; 2 sequences |
| Lusha | [40 credits a month](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) | 40 emails or 8 phone numbers |
| Kaspr | [15 B2B email, 5 phone and 5 direct email credits a month](https://www.kaspr.io/pricing) | Runs on top of your LinkedIn account |
| Seamless.AI | [Up to 50 credits](https://seamless.ai/) | Paid plans by quote |
| RocketReach | [5 lookups](https://rocketreach.co/pricing) | No card needed |
| UpLead | [5 credits for 7 days](https://www.uplead.com/pricing/) | A trial, not a free plan |
| ZoomInfo GTM AI | [1,000 data and 1,000 AI credits, once](https://gtm.ai/pricing) | No card; mobile data needs Enterprise |
| Cognism | No free plan | [Demo and quote](https://www.cognism.com/pricing) |

## How do you get Apollo-style contact data inside ChatGPT or Claude?

You can connect Apollo's MCP server to Claude or ChatGPT, but it still runs on an Apollo account and spends its credits. Enrich.chat needs no account to start: you add its MCP server, which needs no key, or paste one prompt, and the agent calls the API directly.

[Apollo's MCP docs](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/apollo-mcp) list built-in connectors for ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Replit and Cursor. Several alternatives now offer the same route. [Lusha](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) says its data works inside Claude, ChatGPT and any MCP client. [RocketReach](https://rocketreach.co/pricing) lists MCP and API access on every plan, [Cognism](https://www.cognism.com/pricing) lists them on Standard and Pro, and [ZoomInfo's GTM AI](https://gtm.ai/pricing) includes MCP access. Each of these needs an account and a plan or credits first. Our [Apollo MCP guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-mcp-alternative/) walks through the setup and the credit costs.

Enrich.chat has its own remote MCP server at `enrich.chat/mcp` (Streamable HTTP, no sign-in, no key). The [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/) has one-click links for Cursor and VS Code and steps for Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT and Codex. Without MCP, the agent reads [enrich.chat/agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md) once and learns the endpoints and rules. It then sends plain HTTPS GET requests, such as `/v1/person?linkedin_url=...&fields=email,mobile`. Each work email comes back as `verified`, `catch_all` or `unknown`. Each mobile comes back with a line type of `mobile` or `unknown`, which describes the number's type, not whether the line is live. If nothing matches, the API returns `{"found": false}` and uses 0 credits. Every response carries `credits_used`.

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to enrich the contacts I exported from Apollo with work emails and mobiles. Flag catch_all emails as risky, mark misses as not found, and tell me the total credits_used: [paste rows]
```

When the 10 free lookups run out, the API returns HTTP 402 `free_limit_reached` with an `upgrade_url` that points to your [account page](https://enrich.chat/account/). The agent stops, sends you the link and keeps track of the rows it finished. There you log in with your email and a one-time code, pick Growth, Scale or Pro, pay through checkout and copy your API key, and the agent can resume after the daily reset or once it has the key. The page on [contact data for AI agents](https://enrich.chat/agents/) has setup notes for ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, n8n, Make and Zapier.

## When is Apollo still the better choice?

Apollo is the better choice when you want data, sequencing, a dialer and a Chrome extension in one seat. If your reps work inside Apollo all day, an API alone will not replace it.

- **Outreach in one place.** [Apollo's paid plans](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) include unlimited sequences, a US dialer, meeting scheduling and call recording, next to the data.
- **Email-heavy prospecting.** An email costs 1 credit, about $0.02 on Apollo Basic billed yearly. If you rarely need phone numbers, Apollo is cheap per email.
- **Browser prospecting.** Every Apollo plan includes prospecting, Gmail and Salesforce extensions. Our review of the [Apollo Chrome extension](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-chrome-extension/) covers its limits.
- **Reviewer satisfaction.** Apollo rates 4.7 out of 5 on [G2](https://www.g2.com/products/apollo-io/reviews?qs=pros-and-cons), and G2's review summary credits ease of use and search filters most often.

Enrich.chat has real gaps for Apollo users. It has no sequencer, dialer or Chrome extension, so you bring your own outreach tool or CRM. SDKs are still planned, so for now you call the plain HTTPS API. If you want a visual table that chains many providers, our [Clay alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/clay/) page covers that route.

## How do you switch from Apollo without losing work?

Export what you saved, stop paid add-ons before renewal, and test the new tool on a small list first. Apollo's billing rules decide the timing, so check your renewal date before you start.

1. **Export your saved contacts.** Apollo's pricing FAQ says you can bulk-export everything you have saved at once, even on plans with a selection limit.
2. **Check your term.** Cancellations take effect at the end of the plan term. Annual plans cannot downgrade mid-cycle, and downgrades are not refunded.
3. **Stop add-on credits.** Add-on credits renew each cycle until you drag the slider back to zero, so remove them before your renewal date.
4. **Use credits you already paid for.** Unused credits expire at the end of the cycle, so spend them on the records you still need.
5. **Test on real rows.** Run 10 of your Apollo contacts through Enrich.chat's free tier and compare each field's status with what you stored. Check numbers you already hold with the free [phone number validator](https://enrich.chat/tools/phone-number-validator/).
6. **Ask about switch credits.** [Seamless.AI's pricing page](https://seamless.ai/pricing) offers discounts or credits matching up to 50% of a competitor contract's remaining value. Other vendors may negotiate too.
7. **Keep compliance in place.** You stay responsible for TCPA, CAN-SPAM and GDPR rules. People can opt out of Enrich.chat at [enrich.chat/opt-out/](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/).

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best alternative to Apollo.io?

It depends on how you use Apollo. If you mainly pull contact data into an AI agent, app or spreadsheet, Enrich.chat is the closest fit: one prompt, monthly plans from $29, and credits spent only on matches. If reps prospect on LinkedIn, Lusha or Kaspr fit better. Large teams that want intent data pick ZoomInfo or Cognism. If you run sequences inside Apollo, staying may cost less.

### Is there a free alternative to Apollo?

Yes. Enrich.chat gives every IP address 10 free lookups a day with no signup. [Lusha's Free plan](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) includes 40 credits a month, [Kaspr's](https://www.kaspr.io/pricing) includes 15 B2B email and 5 phone credits a month, and [Seamless.AI](https://seamless.ai/) is free for up to 50 credits. RocketReach offers 5 free lookups. Apollo's own Free plan includes 75 credits a month, enough for 9 phone numbers. We checked each on October 15, 2026.

### Is Lusha better than Apollo?

Lusha uses fewer credits per phone and lets monthly credits roll over, but Apollo is cheaper in dollars. [Lusha charges](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/usage-analytics/how-credits-are-counted) 1 credit for an email and 5 for a phone, against Apollo's 1 and 8. But Lusha Pro credits cost about $0.117 each at $69.90 for 600, so 1,000 contacts with both costs about $699, against about $234 on Apollo Basic. Lusha also includes 40 free credits a month.

### Who is Apollo's biggest competitor?

ZoomInfo is the competitor buyers compare most. On [G2's Apollo page](https://www.g2.com/products/apollo-io/reviews?qs=pros-and-cons), ZoomInfo's GTM Workspace is the first top-rated alternative listed, at 4.5 out of 5 from 9,184 reviews, and G2 also lists Lusha and Seamless.AI as top comparisons. ZoomInfo sells to larger teams by quote, and [Vendr's buyer data](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/zoominfo) puts its median contract at $33,500 a year.

### How many credits does Apollo charge for a phone number?

Apollo charges 8 credits for a phone number and 1 for an email, per [its pricing page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing). On Basic billed monthly, $65 buys 2,500 credits, so a phone number costs about $0.21. Billed yearly, it is about $0.16. [Apollo's knowledge base](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4738396786701-Request-Contact-Data-in-Apollo) says it charges for any phone number it reveals and does not refund mobile credits, though it refunds bounced emails sent from Apollo within 30 days.

### Can I use Apollo data in my own app or AI agent?

Not on a standard plan. [Apollo's pricing FAQ](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) says its plans are for internal business use, and powering external products, sharing data with customers or reselling it needs a separate agreement with custom pricing. Inside your own team, Apollo's MCP connector works in Claude and ChatGPT. For products and agents, Enrich.chat spends credits only on matches through a plain API or its MCP server. Monthly credit plans start at $29, and Enterprise, with data licenses, starts at $2,000 a month.
