# PitchBook alternatives in 2026: what to use for funding, deal and company data

PitchBook sells deals, funds and valuations by quote. No alternative covers all of it, so we split eight by need and put a sourced price next to each.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 19, 2026.

**Short answer:** No single tool replaces PitchBook, so pick by job. For funding rounds and investors, [Crunchbase Pro](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing) costs $49 a month billed annually in year one. For valuations, deal multiples and fund data, try [Preqin](https://www.preqin.com/), [CB Insights](https://www.cbinsights.com/pricing) or [Multiples](https://multiples.vc/pricing). Enrich.chat, ours, returns company profiles and people by website, with no deal data and only the latest funding stage.

## Key takeaways

- PitchBook publishes no price. US federal orders state $7,500 a seat on a 19-seat renewal and $24,300 for a single seat (checked October 16, 2026).
- Published prices run from Crunchbase Pro at $49 a month billed annually in year one to Dealroom at $34,500 a year for 10 seats. CB Insights, Preqin and Harmonic publish none.
- Public orders put a 12-month Preqin Pro subscription at $17,500 and a CB Insights API add-on at $35,000 to $37,450 a year.
- SEC Form D data sets are free and quarterly, but they list no investor names, no valuations and no websites.
- Enrich.chat has no funding rounds, investors, deal or valuation data. It returns a company profile, with the latest funding stage where we have it, and the people there.

## The verdict

Pick by the job, because no alternative covers all of PitchBook. Crunchbase Pro is a self-serve start for funding data, Preqin and CB Insights sell deal and valuation data by quote, and the SEC's Form D files are free. **Enrich.chat** is ours and returns company profiles and people by website: it has no funding rounds, investors, deal or valuation data, only the latest funding stage.

- Funding rounds and investors: Crunchbase (Pro from $49 a month, billed annually)
- Deals, valuations and funds: Preqin (Quote only, by demo)
- Free funding facts: SEC Form D (Quarterly files, no investor names)
- Company profile and people by API: Enrich.chat (By website, no rounds or deals)

## The 8 PitchBook alternatives, plus ours, grouped by job

Enrich.chat first, then three funding data tools, three deal and valuation tools, one company data API and one free source. Order inside a group is not a ranking. Enrich.chat is ours, so read its gaps. Prices come from each vendor's own pages, checked October 16, 2026, except where a public order or Vendr's buyer data is named.

### Enrich.chat

Contact and company data for AI agents and apps. A website in returns a company profile, a tech stack, the people there and their work emails. We make it, and it has no funding round, investor, deal or valuation data.

- Best for: Teams that already hold a list of companies and need a profile and the right people at each one
- Pricing: Plans from $29 a month with 100,000 credits. A company profile found uses 5 credits, each person returned 5, a work email 10, and a miss uses 0
- Strength: Add the MCP server or paste one prompt into ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor: no key and no account to start
- Strength: Every plan has unlimited seats and bills monthly with no annual contract
- Strength: Each work email comes back with a status of verified, catch_all or unknown
- Watch out for: No funding rounds, investors, valuations, deal terms or fund data, so it cannot replace PitchBook for research
- Watch out for: Company lookups take a website, a LinkedIn company page or a company_id, not a company name, and there is no CRM sync: lists leave as CSV or Excel files
- Watch out for: About one request a second, and 25 people per page, up to 1,000 per search

### Crunchbase

Company and funding database with investor data, valuation estimates and forecasts, a free account, and MCP included in Pro.

- Best for: One analyst or a small team that needs funding history and investor data at a self-serve price
- Pricing: Pro $49 a month billed annually in year one (list $79) or $99 billed monthly. Business from $199 a month billed annually. API and scaled access come through Custom Data Solutions at custom pricing ([Crunchbase pricing](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing), Oct 16, 2026)
- Strength: A list price on the page, and Pro includes MCP use for your own agent
- Strength: Data exports of 2,000 rows a month on Pro and 5,000 on Business
- Watch out for: Valuations are estimates, and the pricing page lists no fund or limited partner data
- Watch out for: MCP runs on each user's own login, so a shared or unattended agent needs Custom Data Solutions

### Dealroom

Startup and venture data platform with funding rounds, investors and cap tables, a REST API add-on and an MCP server on higher plans.

- Best for: Teams that research startups and investors and can buy seats on a yearly plan
- Pricing: Premium $288 per seat a month at 10 seats ($34,500 a year) and Premium Plus $383 ($45,900), billed annually with a 3-seat minimum ([Dealroom pricing](https://dealroom.co/pricing-usd), Oct 16, 2026)
- Strength: Export credits per seat: 10,000 on Premium and 30,000 on Premium Plus
- Strength: A REST API add-on priced on call volume, and a hosted MCP server on Premium Plus and Enterprise
- Watch out for: Plans bill 12 months up front, with at least 3 seats
- Watch out for: The API costs extra and its price is not published

### Harmonic

Startup database with a console, an API with MCP access, bulk delivery and Scout, its AI research agent.

- Best for: Venture and growth teams that source early-stage companies and want the data in their own tools
- Pricing: Hidden: the console, API and bulk data plans all say Get pricing ([Harmonic pricing](https://harmonic.ai/pricing), Oct 16, 2026). A competitor roundup, [Reply.io](https://reply.io/blog/pitchbook-alternatives/), lists $25,000 a year with no source
- Strength: The API plan lists full MCP access for your agents, and bulk data lands in S3, BigQuery or Snowflake, refreshed weekly
- Strength: Its [June 2026 guide](https://harmonic.ai/blog/pitchbook-competitors-and-alternatives-a-guide-for-2026) says it tracks engineers and operators, not only founders and executives
- Watch out for: No price on any plan
- Watch out for: Financing and investor data costs extra on the API and bulk plans

### CB Insights

Market intelligence platform with company, funding and valuation data, predictive scores, research and an AI assistant, plus data feeds and an MCP integration.

- Best for: Strategy, corporate development and investor teams with a research budget
- Pricing: No price on its pricing page: all three products say Request pricing. Vendr's buyer data shows a $46,984 median a year, from $24,748 to $184,986, paid annually. Public orders show $13,000 a user for 5 users in 2022 and an API add-on at $35,000 to $37,450 a year ([CB Insights pricing](https://www.cbinsights.com/pricing) and [Vendr](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/cb-insights), Oct 16, 2026)
- Strength: Funding, revenue and valuation data next to analyst research and market maps
- Strength: Data feeds, a Snowflake Marketplace listing and an MCP integration
- Watch out for: No published price, and Vendr lists annual upfront payment as the standard term
- Watch out for: The public orders we found price the API as a separate add-on

### Preqin

Private capital and hedge fund data for fundraising, manager selection and deal sourcing, with Preqin Pro, an MCP product and API data feeds.

- Best for: Fund managers, limited partners, banks and advisers who need fund, investor and deal data
- Pricing: No price on its site: Preqin Pro, Preqin MCP and Company Intelligence all say Book a demo. Public orders show $17,500 for a 12-month Preqin Pro subscription (NSF, 2024 to 2025) and $74,500 for the base year of a renewal (Treasury, 2026 to 2027)
- Strength: Named in [Morningstar's 10-K](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1289419/000128941926000013/morn-20251231.htm) as a key PitchBook competitor
- Strength: Feed and operational APIs through [Enterprise Data Solutions](https://www.preqin.com/our-products/enterprise-data-solutions), and an MCP product
- Watch out for: No published price on any product
- Watch out for: Its pages focus on funds, investors and deals, and say little about early-stage companies

### Multiples

Valuation multiples platform with public comps, M&A and VC round multiples, an AI assistant, an API and an MCP server on its top plan.

- Best for: Investors and bankers who need comps and deal multiples at a self-serve price
- Pricing: Pro $299 per seat a month, or $2,868 per seat billed yearly. Pro Max $499 per seat a month ([Multiples pricing](https://multiples.vc/pricing), Oct 16, 2026)
- Strength: Published seat prices with a monthly option
- Strength: Its FAQ says it is listed in the Claude connectors directory and the ChatGPT plugin directory
- Watch out for: The MCP server needs the Pro Max plan
- Watch out for: It is a multiples tool: its pricing page lists no fund, limited partner or company profile data. It also publishes PitchBook comparisons of its own, so read those claims with that in mind

### People Data Labs

Company data API with a free tier, funding totals in the base record and a premium round list.

- Best for: Developers who want company fields, including funding totals, by website in their own code
- Pricing: Company Pro $100 a month or $960 billed yearly, starting at 1,000 monthly records on the plan card. The comparison table on the same page lists 350 records from $98, so confirm volume before you buy. Premium fields are an add-on ([People Data Labs pricing](https://www.peopledatalabs.com/pricing/company), Oct 16, 2026)
- Strength: Funding totals and stage come in the base company record
- Strength: Employee count, industry, founding year, location, website and ticker sit in the same record
- Watch out for: The round-by-round list with investors is a premium field
- Watch out for: No deal terms, valuations or fund data in the fields we read

### SEC Form D data sets

Free quarterly files built from the Notices of Exempt Offerings that companies file with the SEC.

- Best for: Anyone who wants primary-source facts on private raises under Regulation D at no cost
- Pricing: Free
- Strength: A primary source from the SEC, with quarterly files from 2008 through the third quarter of 2026
- Strength: Lists related persons, so it gives you names to look up
- Watch out for: The data is as filed, and the SEC says it cannot guarantee accuracy
- Watch out for: No investor names, no valuations and no website, and only offerings under Rule 504, Rule 506 or Section 4(a)(5) appear

## Who is PitchBook for, and why do people look elsewhere?

PitchBook is a private-market database for investors, bankers and corporate teams. [Morningstar's 2025 annual report](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1289419/000128941926000013/morn-20251231.htm) lists private equity and venture capital firms, asset managers, limited partners, investment banks, private credit investors, corporations and service providers as its clients. People who look for an alternative usually hit one of five limits.

- **The price is hidden.** [PitchBook's pricing page](https://web.archive.org/web/20260728165003/https://pitchbook.com/pricing) (an Internet Archive copy of July 28, 2026) says cost depends on seats and firm type, and tells you to contact a representative. Public records fill in some gaps. A [Department of Energy renewal](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_89703025FAR000008_8900_89703025AAR000001_8900) states 19 seats at $7,500 each, a [Justice Department order](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_15JPSS26P00000398_1501_-NONE-_-NONE-) for 15 users cost $157,500, and a [US Army order](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_W911SD25PA009_9700_-NONE-_-NONE-) for one seat cost $24,300. Our [PitchBook pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/pitchbook-pricing/) lists more orders.
- **Renewals can cost more.** In a [March 25, 2026 Q&A](https://shareholders.morningstar.com/investor-resources/investor-qa/qa-details/2026/On-PitchBook-we-have-heard-anecdotally-that-you-raised-pricing-more-than-in-recent-years-for-2026/default.aspx), Morningstar said PitchBook seeks price increases at renewal where appropriate. PitchBook's [Data Feed License Agreement](https://d7umqicpi7263.cloudfront.net/eula/6BUymbucoHzrzAFeK7WBEHUhDqDVmSyEsofCQR1RKAs) renews orders for one-year terms and raises the fee by the higher of 5% or US inflation.
- **Freshness and early-stage coverage.** Harmonic, a competitor, says in its [June 2026 guide](https://harmonic.ai/blog/pitchbook-competitors-and-alternatives-a-guide-for-2026) that PitchBook profiles refresh every 3 to 4 months and that thousands of pre-seed and stealth companies are missing. PitchBook's own [data page](https://web.archive.org/web/20260708093912/https://pitchbook.com/data) says its data is updated multiple times a day, so test your own target list in a trial. Users on Reddit report similar worries: in a [two-year-old r/private_equity thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/private_equity/comments/1ecwhk1/looking_for_pitchbook_alternatives/), one person tracking about 5,000 companies said PitchBook updates less often than they want and shows no live headcount.
- **Built for investors, not outreach.** ZoomInfo, another competitor, says in its [PitchBook alternatives guide](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/pitchbook-alternatives) that PitchBook offers no verified contact data at scale. PitchBook's [people data page](https://web.archive.org/web/20260512161628/https://pitchbook.com/platform-data/professionals) lists career histories, board seats, deal roles and conference data, and does not say whether work emails or mobile numbers are included.
- **Rules on AI use.** The [feed agreement](https://d7umqicpi7263.cloudfront.net/eula/6BUymbucoHzrzAFeK7WBEHUhDqDVmSyEsofCQR1RKAs) lists use with machine learning or other AI systems as a prohibited use, and your order form can change that. Subscribers fare better on the platform side: Morningstar said in an [August 25, 2026 Q&A](https://shareholders.morningstar.com/investor-resources/investor-qa/qa-details/2026/How-are-PitchBook-Model-Context-Protocol-MCP-Connectors-monetized-today-if-at-all--2026-cy9M2BxfO7/default.aspx) that connectors in Claude and ChatGPT cost nothing extra today.

None of this makes PitchBook a poor tool. In a [four-month-old r/venturecapital thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/venturecapital/comments/1ucnc2o/ive_built_an_ainative_alternative_to_pitchbook/), replies to a founder who had built a cheaper rival said PitchBook is expensive for a reason, and that every tech wave brings a cheaper copy. Those are user opinions, and the thread's author sells a competing product. Our guide to [what PitchBook is](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-pitchbook/) covers its data and products in full.

## Which PitchBook alternative fits the job you need done?

PitchBook bundles funding, deal, fund and people data in one licence, and no alternative covers all of it. Figure 1 maps five jobs to the tools in this guide and shows how each one is sold.

**Figure 1: Which PitchBook job each alternative covers.** Five jobs and the tools for each, with how they are sold. Funding rounds and investors: Crunchbase, Dealroom and Harmonic, two with list prices and one by quote. Deal terms and valuations: CB Insights, Preqin and Multiples, one list price and two quotes. Fund and LP data: Preqin, by quote. Company profile and people by API: Enrich.chat, ours, and People Data Labs, both with list prices. Free funding facts: SEC Form D data sets, free to download.

*Which tools cover which PitchBook job, and how each is sold, from each vendor's own pages. - **Funding rounds and investors.** Crunchbase, Dealroom and Harmonic sell this as their core. Our [Crunchbase alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/crunchbase/) page compares the same startup databases from the Crunchbase side, and [Crunchbase vs PitchBook](https://enrich.chat/compare/crunchbase-vs-pitchbook/) sets the two head to head.
- **Deal terms, valuations and funds.** CB Insights, Preqin and Multiples sell this. [Morningstar's 10-K](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1289419/000128941926000013/morn-20251231.htm) names Preqin among PitchBook's key competitors, along with Beauhurst, FactSet, MSCI, Refinitiv and S&P Global Market Intelligence.
- **Company profiles and people by API.** Enrich.chat, ours, and People Data Labs return company fields in code. [People Data Labs](https://docs.peopledatalabs.com/docs/company-schema) puts funding totals in its base record. [Apollo's organization enrichment](https://docs.apollo.io/reference/organization-enrichment) returns funding events for 1 credit per company, on plans from [$49 a seat a month billed annually](https://www.apollo.io/pricing). Our guides to [company data APIs](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-company-data-apis/) and [People Data Labs alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/people-data-labs/) compare more.
- **Free funding facts.** The SEC publishes Form D data sets. The free options section below lists their limits.

If you sell to companies rather than invest in them, you may want contact data and intent signals instead. See our [ZoomInfo alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/zoominfo/) and our guide to [sales intelligence](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-sales-intelligence/).

## How much do PitchBook alternatives cost?

Published prices run from $588 a year for one Crunchbase Pro seat in year one to $34,500 a year for 10 Dealroom seats. CB Insights, Preqin and Harmonic publish no price, and neither does PitchBook. Figure 2 plots every price we could source. The bars are not like for like, because some are per seat and some are per order.

**Figure 2: Sourced yearly prices of PitchBook and its alternatives on a log scale.** Nine yearly price points on a log scale from $100 to $100,000. Crunchbase Pro in year one is $588. People Data Labs Company Pro is $1,200. Crunchbase Business from $2,388. Multiples Pro for one seat $2,868. A PitchBook seat on a 19-seat Energy Department order is $7,500. A Preqin Pro 12-month order at the National Science Foundation is $17,500. A one-seat PitchBook order at the Army is $24,300. Dealroom Premium for 10 seats is $34,500. A CB Insights team licence at the National Science Foundation is $60,000. Units differ: some are per seat and some are per order.

*Yearly prices we could source, on a log scale. Units differ: Crunchbase Pro, Multiples and the PitchBook seats are per seat, Preqin and CB Insights are whole orders with seats not stated, and Dealroom is 10 seats. Crunchbase Pro is $49 a month billed annually, People Data Labs is $100 a month. Enrich.chat has no funding round or deal data, so it is not charted. For the quote-only vendors, US federal purchase orders are the best public evidence. They show what agencies paid, and a company may pay a different price. The table lists the orders we read on [USAspending.gov](https://www.usaspending.gov/). Per-user arithmetic appears only where the order states a user count.

*Public orders for PitchBook, CB Insights, Preqin and Capital IQ, read October 16, 2026. Per-user figures are our arithmetic.*

| PitchBook | [US Army](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_W911SD25PA009_9700_-NONE-_-NONE-), one Standard Platform subscription, Mar 2025 to Mar 2026 | $24,300 | One seat for a year |
| CB Insights | [Energy Department](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_89303022PTT000011_8900_-NONE-_-NONE-), 5 users, Feb 2022 to Feb 2023 | $65,000 | $13,000 a user; the order text states the total |

| Preqin | [National Science Foundation](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_49100424P0059_4900_-NONE-_-NONE-), 12-month Preqin Pro subscription, Sept 2024 to Sept 2025 | $17,500 | Seats not stated |
| Preqin | [Treasury Fiscal Service](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_20341526P00006_2036_-NONE-_-NONE-), renewal, base year May 2026 to May 2027 | $74,500 | The order covers several Preqin products and option years |
| Preqin | [Comptroller of the Currency](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_2031JW24P00007_2046_-NONE-_-NONE-), private equity and venture capital data subscription, Jan 2024 to Dec 2026 | $92,999 in total | About $31,000 a year over three years |
| S&P Capital IQ Pro | [Justice Department](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_15JL1B25F00000630_1501_03310324D0025_0300), Capital IQ Pro online login, June 2025 to May 2026 | $18,000 | Login count not stated beyond the order text |
| S&P Capital IQ | [Air Force](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_FA701425F0026_9700_FA701422A0006_9700), Capital IQ licenses, Nov 2024 to Nov 2025 | $64,896 | License count not stated |

Read the table with care. Agencies buy bundles, options and add-ons, so a total is not a seat price unless the order says so. For CB Insights, [Vendr's buyer data](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/cb-insights) shows a $46,984 median a year, from $24,748 to $184,986, with annual payment up front and quarterly options. That median covers every product Vendr tracks for the vendor. See our [Crunchbase API pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/crunchbase-api-pricing/) for the closest published API terms.

## What about Capital IQ, FactSet, Grata, AlphaSense and Tracxn?

These five come up in other roundups. None publishes a full price list, so the table shows what each vendor's own page says.

*Other platforms named in PitchBook alternatives lists, pages read October 16, 2026 unless noted.*

| S&P Capital IQ Pro | Morningstar's 10-K names S&P Global Market Intelligence as a key competitor. S&P's site returned HTTP 403 to our reads, so we list no S&P features | Not published; see the orders above |
| [FactSet](https://www.factset.com/pricing) | Named in the same 10-K. Its pricing page says costs are built around your needs and points you to its sales team | Quote only |
| [Grata](https://grata.com/pricing) | Private company search for deal teams. The Scale tier adds deal data with multiples and valuations, and the Alpha tier adds API access. Grata claims 22M+ companies | Book a demo, no price |
| [AlphaSense](https://www.alpha-sense.com/pricing/) | A market intelligence and search platform over [expert transcripts, broker research and company filings](https://www.alpha-sense.com/). Its pricing page says plans range from enterprise-wide to per seat | Quote only |
| [Tracxn](https://tracxn.com/pricing) | Lists 8.4M+ companies, 2M+ funding rounds and 229K+ acquisitions. Premium adds valuation and cap table tools | Lite free for personal use; Premium and API packs by quote |

Grata's [own comparison page](https://grata.com/grata-vs-pitchbook) says PitchBook misses founder-owned and lower-middle-market companies. That is a vendor claim, so check it against your own target list. Harmonic's guide calls AlphaSense a document-research tool, not a structured company database.

## Are there free alternatives to PitchBook?

Yes, with limits. The SEC publishes Form D data sets, and several vendors run free tiers. None replaces a licence for deal work.

*Free routes checked October 16, 2026.*

| Option | What you get | The limit |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [SEC Form D data sets](https://www.sec.gov/data-research/sec-markets-data/form-d-data-sets) | Quarterly files of exempt offering notices, 2008 through Q3 2026 | As filed, no accuracy guarantee, no investor names, valuations or websites |
| [Crunchbase free account](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing) | Company profiles, search results, AI research and MCP | Usage limits apply |
| [Tracxn Lite](https://tracxn.com/pricing) | Companies, investors, funding rounds and acquisitions, no card | Personal use and strict usage limits |
| [Preqin free account](https://www.preqin.com/registerinterest/free-account) | Free alternative assets datasets, analytics and reports | The page gives no row or field limits |
| [People Data Labs free plan](https://www.peopledatalabs.com/pricing/company) | Up to 100 company records a month by API, with funding totals in the base record | Round list with investors is a premium field |
| [PitchBook data sample](https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-kjevwrwcqwszi) | A CSV of 49 companies with deals, investors and people, updated daily | A sample, and it needs an AWS account |
| [Enrich.chat](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) | 10 lookups a day with no signup | Company profiles and people only, no funding rounds or deals |

Form D deserves a closer look. [The SEC says](https://www.sec.gov/resources-small-businesses/exempt-offerings/filing-form-d-notice) a company must file the notice within 15 days after the first sale of securities in an exempt offering. The [SEC's field list](https://www.sec.gov/files/Form_D.pdf) includes the total offering amount, the amount sold, the number of investors already invested, and the executives, directors and promoters. It has no investor names, valuations or websites. The [data sets page](https://www.sec.gov/data-research/sec-markets-data/form-d-data-sets) adds that the data is shown as filed and the SEC cannot guarantee its accuracy. Only exempt offerings under Rule 504, Rule 506 or Section 4(a)(5) appear, so a company missing from the files has not necessarily raised nothing.

## When is PitchBook the better choice?

PitchBook is the better choice when your work is private-market research and you can budget for a licence. Morningstar's filing and PitchBook's pages point to four strengths that the alternatives above match only in part.

- **Deals, funds and valuations in one place.** The [10-K](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1289419/000128941926000013/morn-20251231.htm) says PitchBook covers venture capital, private equity, private credit, bank loans and M&A, and has added machine-learning valuation estimates for thousands of companies.
- **Analyst research.** The same filing cites full-time analyst coverage across 30 sectors and more than 2,400 research reports in 2025.
- **Office plug-ins.** The [pricing page](https://web.archive.org/web/20260728165003/https://pitchbook.com/pricing) says the platform includes Excel and PowerPoint plug-ins and a Chrome extension.
- **AI connectors for subscribers.** Morningstar says paying subscribers can use [connectors in Claude and ChatGPT](https://shareholders.morningstar.com/investor-resources/investor-qa/qa-details/2026/How-are-PitchBook-Model-Context-Protocol-MCP-Connectors-monetized-today-if-at-all--2026-cy9M2BxfO7/default.aspx) at no extra charge today, and that it could price them separately later.

Pick an alternative when you need one slice of the data, when a seat price is out of reach, or when the data must feed your own code. Our [PitchBook pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/pitchbook-pricing/) covers quotes and renewal terms.

## How do you add company profiles and people to a funded-company list with Enrich.chat?

Enrich.chat is ours, so read its limits first. It has no funding rounds, investors, valuations, deal terms or fund data. It covers the step after you hold a list of companies: a profile from each website, the people there, and their work emails. Pair it with a free source such as the Form D files, or with an export from any database your licence allows.

A Form D row gives you an issuer name, a state, an amount sold and the names of executives. It gives no website, so you add that column yourself. Figure 3 shows the chain. Your agent reads [enrich.chat/agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md), or you add the MCP server at `https://enrich.chat/mcp`, which needs no key. The [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/) has the steps. For a file of websites, the dashboard's [bulk enrichment](https://enrich.chat/features/bulk-enrichment/) can enrich companies from a CSV of up to 5,000 rows as a [background job](https://enrich.chat/features/background-jobs/) that keeps running after you close the tab.

**Figure 3: From a Form D file to company profiles and people.** Three steps. The SEC Form D file gives issuer name, state and phone, amount sold, number of investors and related persons, but no website. You add each company's website. Enrich.chat then returns a company profile, people by title and a work email with a status. For one company, two people and one email the credit use is 25.

*A free Form D file gives names and amounts but no website. You add the website, and Enrich.chat, ours, returns the profile, the people and a work email with its status. Credit counts are Enrich.chat's public rates. Form D fields from the [SEC's data set documentation](https://www.sec.gov/files/Form_D.pdf); rates from [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).*

Here is the chain for one made-up company. Every name and address is fictional and on example.com, and the responses are illustrative.

```
# 1. Company profile from the website you added
curl -G https://enrich.chat/v1/company -d domain=tidewater-analytics.example.com
# {"found": true, "id": "org_5HnW3qLz8RtB2YcK", "name": "Tidewater Analytics",
#  "domain": "tidewater-analytics.example.com", "industry": "Software Development",
#  "size": "11-50", "employees_on_linkedin": 42, "revenue": "1M-10M",
#  "founded": 2019, "city": "Portland", "state": "Oregon",
#  "country": "United States",
#  "funding": {"stage": "Seed", "date": "2023-09-14"},
#  "credits_used": 5, "free_lookups_remaining": 9}
# 2. Up to 2 people there with a finance title
curl -G https://enrich.chat/v1/company/people \
  -d domain=tidewater-analytics.example.com -d title=finance -d limit=2
# {"found": true, "count": 2, "domain": "tidewater-analytics.example.com",
#  "people": [
#   {"id": "per_3Ks8vXq2NdRw6YtH", "name": "Priya Nair",
#   {"id": "per_9Bd4mTcQ7LxVs2Wj", "name": "Owen Castillo",
#    "linkedin_url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/owen-castillo-demo"}],
#  "credits_used": 10, "free_lookups_remaining": 8}
# 3. Work email for one of them, with its status
curl -G https://enrich.chat/v1/person -d fields=email \
  -d linkedin_url=linkedin.com/in/priya-nair-demo
# {"found": true, "name": "Priya Nair", "title": "VP Finance",
#  "company": {"name": "Tidewater Analytics"},
#  "linkedin_url": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/priya-nair-demo",
#  "work_email": {"value": "priya.nair@tidewater-analytics.example.com",
#                 "status": "catch_all"},
#  "credits_used": 10, "free_lookups_remaining": 7}
```

The first call uses 5 credits, the second 10 and the third 10. A call that finds nothing uses 0. The email status is `verified`, `catch_all` or `unknown`. Here it is `catch_all`: the domain accepts every address, so treat the result as a strong lead and not a guarantee. A Form D file also names executives, so you can skip step 2 and send a name plus the company website to `/v1/person` instead. That input takes a LinkedIn URL, a work email, or a name with a website, but not a personal mailbox or a company name alone.

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to look up these company websites at about one request a second. For each one return the name, industry, size band, state and country, then find up to 2 people with a finance title and give their LinkedIn URLs. Say not found when there is no result, do not add funding rounds or investors, and give me the total credits_used: [paste company websites, one per line]
```

### What does a 1,000-company list cost on Enrich.chat?

Take 1,000 funded companies from a Form D file, after you add their websites. Ask for a profile at each, two finance leaders at each and one work email per company. That is 25,000 credits a month, which fits the Growth plan at $29 a month. Priced at the plan's own credit rate, the job uses $7.25. Every plan has unlimited seats, every product and no annual contract. For scale, one Crunchbase Pro seat costs $588 in year one. The two buy different things: Crunchbase sells funding data, and Enrich.chat sells profiles and contacts. See [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) for the rates.

Enrich.chat has these honest gaps next to PitchBook:

- **No funding rounds, deals, valuations or investors.** The profile returns the latest funding stage with its date where we have it, plus size and revenue bands, a founded year and location, but no round history.
- **A company lookup needs a website.** A LinkedIn company page or a company_id also works. Company names alone are not supported, and Form D files list no website, so you need a website column first.
- **No CRM sync.** Lists are shared across your [team workspace](https://enrich.chat/features/team-workspaces/) and export as CSV or Excel, but there is no Chrome extension, native CRM app or sequencing. A search returns 25 people a page and at most 1,000 per search, and pace is about one request a second.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best alternative to PitchBook?

It depends on the part of PitchBook you use. For funding rounds and investors, [Crunchbase Pro](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing) costs $49 a month billed annually in year one. For valuations, deal multiples and fund data, try [Preqin](https://www.preqin.com/), [CB Insights](https://www.cbinsights.com/pricing) or [Multiples](https://multiples.vc/pricing), which lists $299 per seat a month. For company profiles and people by API, Enrich.chat has 10 free lookups a day but no funding rounds or deal data. We checked prices on October 16, 2026.

### Is there a free alternative to PitchBook?

Yes, with limits. The SEC's [Form D data sets](https://www.sec.gov/data-research/sec-markets-data/form-d-data-sets) are free and updated quarterly, but they list no investor names or valuations. [Crunchbase](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing) has a free account with usage limits, [Tracxn Lite](https://tracxn.com/pricing) is free for personal use, and [Preqin](https://www.preqin.com/registerinterest/free-account) offers a free account. PitchBook itself lists a free [49-company sample](https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-kjevwrwcqwszi) on AWS Marketplace. None replaces a licence for deal work.

### Who are PitchBook's main competitors?

[Morningstar's 2025 10-K](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1289419/000128941926000013/morn-20251231.htm) names Beauhurst, FactSet, MSCI, Preqin, Refinitiv and S&P Global Market Intelligence as key competitors, and adds smaller or specialized data providers to the list. For startup funding data, buyers also compare [Crunchbase](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing), [Dealroom](https://dealroom.co/pricing-usd), [CB Insights](https://www.cbinsights.com/pricing) and [Harmonic](https://harmonic.ai/pricing). For valuation multiples, [Multiples](https://multiples.vc/pricing) sells a self-serve plan.

### How much do PitchBook alternatives cost?

Published prices vary widely. [Crunchbase](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing) Pro is $49 a month billed annually in year one, [People Data Labs](https://www.peopledatalabs.com/pricing/company) Company Pro is $100 a month, [Multiples](https://multiples.vc/pricing) is $299 per seat a month and [Dealroom](https://dealroom.co/pricing-usd) is $34,500 a year for 10 seats. CB Insights, Preqin and Harmonic publish none. A [12-month Preqin Pro order](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_49100424P0059_4900_-NONE-_-NONE-) cost $17,500. US orders show PitchBook at [$7,500 a seat](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_89703025FAR000008_8900_89703025AAR000001_8900) on 19 seats and [$10,500 a seat](https://www.usaspending.gov/award/CONT_AWD_15JPSS26P00000398_1501_-NONE-_-NONE-) on 15.

### Is there a PitchBook alternative with an API or MCP server?

Yes, several. [Harmonic](https://harmonic.ai/pricing) lists full MCP access on its API plan, [Crunchbase](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing) includes MCP in Pro with your own login, [Dealroom](https://dealroom.co/pricing-usd) has an MCP server on Premium Plus, and [Preqin MCP](https://www.preqin.com/our-products/preqin-mcp) is sold by demo. PitchBook gives subscribers connectors in Claude and ChatGPT. The Enrich.chat MCP server at enrich.chat/mcp needs no key and returns company profiles and people, not funding rounds or deal data. See the [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/).

### Does Enrich.chat have funding or deal data?

Only a company's latest funding stage. Enrich.chat returns a company's name, domain, industry, size and revenue bands, founded year, location and that stage where we have them, plus its tech stack and the people there. It has no funding rounds, investors, valuations, deal terms or fund data, and it looks companies up by website, a LinkedIn company page or an id, not by name. For deal data, pick one of the tools above. The [company enrichment API](https://enrich.chat/api/company-enrichment/) page lists every field.
