# The best SignalHire alternatives in 2026, compared for recruiting, sales and API use

SignalHire sells email and phone credits to recruiters and sales teams. We compared seven alternatives on price, ATS export, API access and LinkedIn account risk, using each vendor's own pages.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 19, 2026.

**Short answer:** The best SignalHire alternatives in 2026 depend on the job: ContactOut and RocketReach for recruiting, Apollo and Lusha for sales prospecting, and Enrich.chat (our product), Prospeo or Hunter for lookups by API. [SignalHire's plans start at $49 a month](https://www.signalhire.com/pricing) on October 16, 2026, and [its terms](https://www.signalhire.com/terms) cap Unlimited packages at 2,000 credits a month.

## Key takeaways

- On October 16, 2026, SignalHire's pricing page showed paid plans from $49 a month (600 email credits or 300 phone credits), then $69 for 1,000 or 435, and Unlimited packages at $79 or $99. Billed yearly, the entry plans cost $39 a month.
- SignalHire's terms limit Unlimited packages to annual subscribers and 2,000 credits a month, say refunds are not offered, and let prices change at any time.
- ContactOut names Lever, Greenhouse and Bullhorn exports, and RocketReach adds Bullhorn from its Pro plan. SignalHire's integrations page names 16 ATS tools but not those three.
- For 200 contacts a month with an email and a phone, list prices on monthly billing run from $49 (SignalHire and Prospeo) to $137.40 (Lusha). On Enrich.chat the same list needs 52,000 credits, which fits the Growth plan at $29 a month.
- SignalHire is the better pick if you work in its extension, push to an ATS or need phone credits at volume. Enrich.chat has no extension or ATS export, and its lists are shared by the whole team and export as CSV or Excel.

## The verdict

For people who want contact data inside an AI agent or their own app, **Enrich.chat** (our product) is the simplest SignalHire alternative: one prompt, unlimited seats, and credits spent only on matches. For recruiting with an ATS, ContactOut or RocketReach fit better.

- Best for agents and apps: Enrich.chat (One prompt or a plain API, plans from $29)
- Best for recruiting: ContactOut (Personal emails, Lever, Greenhouse and Bullhorn export)
- Best for sales teams: Apollo (Sequences, a dialer and CRM sync in one seat)
- Best other API route: Prospeo (LinkedIn URL in, 1 credit per email, 10 per mobile)
- Stay on SignalHire if: SignalHire (You work in its extension and need phone credits at volume)

## Who is SignalHire for, and what does it cost in 2026?

SignalHire is a contact finder for recruiters, sales teams and marketers, sold by the credit. Its [Chrome Web Store listing](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/signalhire-find-email-or/aeidadjdhppdffggfgjpanbafaedankd) names those three audiences. Its [home page](https://www.signalhire.com/) lists a browser extension, database search, bulk enrichment, an API, an MCP server and email sequences. On October 16, 2026, [its pricing page](https://www.signalhire.com/pricing) showed paid plans from $49 a month.

Each paid card on that page has a credit slider with three steps. We moved every slider and read both billing views. This table lists each step we saw:

| SignalHire plan and step | Credits | Billed monthly | Billed yearly, per month |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | 5, or 10 a month with the extension | $0 | $0 |
| Emails, step 1 | 600 a month, or 7,200 a year | $49 | $39 |
| Emails, step 2 | 1,000 a month, or 12,000 a year | $69 | $57 |
| Emails Unlimited | Up to 2,000 a month, per the terms | $79 | $63 |
| Phones, or Emails & Phones, step 1 | 300 a month, or 3,600 a year | $49 | $39 |
| Phones, or Emails & Phones, step 2 | 435 a month, or 5,400 a year | $69 | $57 |
| Phones, or Emails & Phones Unlimited | Up to 2,000 a month, per the terms | $99 | $83 |
| Scale | Custom, bulk license | Contact sales | Contact sales |

One credit buys the contacts for one person, and SignalHire [charges it only if an email or phone is found](https://www.signalhire.com/knowledge-base/what-does-'available-credits'-mean). The home page says it returns business and personal emails plus direct and mobile numbers, and that it checks emails with third-party verification tools before it shows them. Saving a profile to a Job Project or Lead List [costs no credit](https://www.signalhire.com/knowledge-base/do-i-use-a-credit-when-i-export-a-profile-to-'job-projects'-or-'lead-lists'). Our [SignalHire pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/signalhire-pricing/) has the credit math, contract terms and API costs.

## Why do people look for a SignalHire alternative?

The reasons SignalHire's own pages support are plan limits, billing terms, an API that answers by callback, and mixed reviews. Many roundups also claim weak data outside the US. Most of those come from rival vendors, so we do not repeat them.

- **Unlimited has a ceiling.** Clause 9.10 of [SignalHire's Terms of Use](https://www.signalhire.com/terms) says unlimited packages are for annual subscribers and limit spending to 2,000 credits a month across the whole account. Unused credits expire each month. The pricing page still lists Unlimited at monthly prices, so ask SignalHire which applies before you pay monthly.
- **The terms favor the seller.** The same terms say plans renew automatically at the same rate (clause 9.3), prices and packages can change at any time (9.4), and refunds are not offered unless you provide acceptable evidence (9.9). The [help center](https://www.signalhire.com/knowledge-base/can-i-cancel-my-subscription) says you can cancel at any time.
- **Emails and phones are separate cards.** The pricing page labels Emails as emails only and Phones as phone numbers only, with a third Emails & Phones card. Buy the wrong card and you will not get the field you need.
- **The API answers by callback.** [SignalHire's docs](https://docs.signalhire.com/person-api/retrieve-person) say the Person API runs asynchronously by default and posts results to a public callback URL you provide. A synchronous mode exists, but [the docs](https://docs.signalhire.com/person-api/without-waterfall) say it may return fewer or slightly older contacts. Profiles without contacts use a separate credit type bought through support, and the [Search API uses a daily quota](https://docs.signalhire.com/api-pricing) that SignalHire does not publish.
- **Reviews are mixed.** The Chrome Web Store listing shows 5.0 from 636 ratings and 400,000 users on October 16, 2026. [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/signalhire.com) shows no rating for SignalHire, citing a breach of its guidelines, says it removed fake reviews, and lists 59 reviews, 61% at one star and 27% at five. Several of the reviews shown call accuracy uneven, especially for phone numbers, and one asks for a refund. Trustpilot does not fact-check reviews, so read them as claims.
- **The accuracy figures are SignalHire's own.** Its home page publishes a 95%+ email accuracy figure and a 3 to 5% bounce rate. We ran no tests, so treat both as claims.

## Which SignalHire alternative fits recruiting, sales or API work?

Match the tool to the job. ContactOut and RocketReach suit recruiting. Apollo, Lusha and Wiza suit sales prospecting. Enrich.chat, Prospeo and Hunter suit lookups by API. Enrich.chat is our product, so weigh our picks with that in mind.

**Figure 1: Which SignalHire alternative fits which job.** A decision chart that starts from what you use SignalHire for. For recruiting and ATS export, look at ContactOut and RocketReach. For sales prospecting in a browser or CRM, look at Apollo, Lusha and Wiza. For contact data inside an agent or app through an API, look at Enrich.chat, Prospeo and Hunter. Stay on SignalHire if you work in its extension and ATS.

### Which tool is best for recruiting contacts?

ContactOut and RocketReach are the closest swaps if you source candidates. [ContactOut's recruiter page](https://contactout.com/recruiters) says it finds work emails, personal emails and mobile numbers, works on LinkedIn Standard, Recruiter Lite and Pro, and saves candidates to Lever, Greenhouse and Bullhorn. [RocketReach's pricing page](https://rocketreach.co/pricing) lists a Chrome extension, and it names Bullhorn, Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach and Salesloft integrations from Pro. Check your ATS against both lists. [SignalHire's integrations page](https://www.signalhire.com/integrations) names Zoho Recruit, Loxo, Ashby and Workable, but not Lever, Greenhouse or Bullhorn. Our [ContactOut alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/contactout/) and [RocketReach alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/rocketreach/) guides go deeper on each.

### Which tool is best for sales prospecting?

Apollo, Lusha and Wiza work inside a browser or a CRM. [Apollo Basic](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) adds unlimited sequences, CRM integrations and a US dialer to the contact data, but [a phone number costs 8 credits](https://www.apollo.io/pricing/about-credits) and credits expire each cycle. [Lusha's extension](https://www.lusha.com/lusha-extension/) works on Sales Navigator pages, and [an email costs 1 credit and a phone 5](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/usage-analytics/how-credits-are-counted). [Wiza says](https://help.wiza.co/en/articles/16500453-update-changes-to-chrome-extension-for-linkedin-sales-navigator-and-recruiter) its extension now works on one profile at a time and no longer bulk-exports from LinkedIn pages. Lists come from Wiza Prospect, CSV upload or CRM import. See our [Apollo alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/apollo/) and [Lusha alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/lusha/) for more.

### Which tool is best for lookups by API?

Enrich.chat, Prospeo and Hunter have self-serve APIs. Enrich.chat takes a LinkedIn URL, a work email or a name with a company website, and spends credits only on matches. [Prospeo's Enrich Person endpoint](https://prospeo.io/api-docs/enrich-person) takes a LinkedIn URL, an email, or a name with a company, and [charges 1 credit for an email, 10 for a mobile and nothing for a miss](https://help.prospeo.io/en/article/how-prospeo-credits-work-yso5gk). [Hunter's Email Finder](https://hunter.io/api-documentation/v2) needs a name with a domain or company, or a LinkedIn handle, charges nothing when it finds no email, and free plans get an API key. Hunter's pricing page lists no phone credits. Compare more tools in our guide to the [best LinkedIn email finders](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-linkedin-email-finder/).

## How does a SignalHire API lookup compare with Enrich.chat's?

SignalHire's Person API is a POST that delivers results to a callback URL by default. Enrich.chat's person lookup is a GET that returns JSON in the same response. [SignalHire's docs](https://docs.signalhire.com/person-api/retrieve-person) say one request can carry up to 100 mixed identifiers: a LinkedIn URL, an email, a phone number or a profile ID. [Paid accounts](https://docs.signalhire.com/person-api/rate-limits) can send 600 items a minute.

**Figure 2: One API lookup: SignalHire's callback flow against Enrich.chat's single response.** In SignalHire's default mode you POST up to 100 items and a callback URL, SignalHire replies with a request ID, and results are posted to your public callback URL later. With Enrich.chat you send one GET request with a LinkedIn URL and the JSON comes back in the same response. SignalHire needs a callback server by default, takes up to 100 items per request and accepts a phone number as input. Enrich.chat needs no callback server, takes one person per GET request or up to 25 in a batch call, and takes no phone number.

*SignalHire's default Person API flow uses a callback, while Enrich.chat answers in the same response. SignalHire's synchronous mode skips the callback, and its docs say it may return fewer or slightly older contacts. Sources: [SignalHire Person API](https://docs.signalhire.com/person-api/retrieve-person), [SignalHire without-waterfall mode](https://docs.signalhire.com/person-api/without-waterfall), [Enrich.chat agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md).*

That design suits a server that sends batches and waits for callbacks. Enrich.chat answers in the same response instead: a GET handles one person, and `POST /v1/batch` handles up to 25 per call. At about one call a second, 500 rows take about 20 batch calls, or about 8 minutes at one GET per row. For bigger files, a [background job](https://enrich.chat/features/background-jobs/) takes up to 5,000 rows and runs on the server, and an optional signed webhook tells your app when it finishes. It takes no phone number as input. Each response carries a status for each field: a work email is verified, catch_all or unknown, and a mobile is mobile or unknown by line type. Those statuses describe the record, not the person, so treat every contact as a strong lead, not a guarantee.

## What do 200 contacts a month cost on SignalHire and its alternatives?

For 200 contacts a month, each with an email and a phone number, list prices on monthly billing run from $49 to $137.40 on the tools that sell phones. On Enrich.chat the same list needs 52,000 credits, which fits the Growth plan at $29 a month. Hunter sells no phone numbers, so it has no price here.

| Tool | Plan that covers 200 contacts | Billed monthly | How we got it |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Enrich.chat | Growth plan | $29 | 200 emails × 10 credits + 200 mobiles × 250 credits = 52,000 credits. A miss uses 0. |
| SignalHire | Emails & Phones, 300-credit step | $49 | One credit per person, so 200 credits. |
| Prospeo | Starter, 1 user | $49 | A mobile costs 10 credits and includes the email, so 2,000 credits, the whole monthly allowance. |
| Apollo | Basic, 1 seat | $65 | 200 × (1 + 8) = 1,800 of the 2,500 monthly credits. |
| ContactOut | Email + Phone | $99 | 600 exports a month. Self-serve plans have no API. |
| Wiza | Starter plus extras | $99 | $49 covers 100 emails and 100 phones. 100 more of each cost $15 and $35. |
| RocketReach | Pro | $119 | 250 lookups and exports a month. The US monthly price is from [our RocketReach pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/rocketreach-pricing/). |
| Lusha | Pro, 1,200 credits | $137.40 | 200 × (1 + 5) = 1,200 credits, the slider step. |
| Hunter | None | Not possible | Its pricing page lists no phone credits. |

**Figure 3: Monthly cost of 200 contacts with email and phone.** Bar chart of the monthly plan price that covers 200 contacts, each with an email and a phone number, on monthly billing: Enrich.chat $29 on the Growth plan, SignalHire $49, Prospeo $49, Apollo $65, ContactOut $99, Wiza $99, RocketReach $119 and Lusha $137.40. Hunter sells no phone numbers.

*List prices on monthly billing for 200 contacts, each with an email and a phone number, read October 16, 2026. Enrich.chat shows the Growth plan, which covers the 52,000 credits needed if every lookup finds both fields. Prospeo, Apollo, Wiza and Lusha prices are per user or seat. RocketReach's monthly figure is from our October 15 guide. Sources: [SignalHire](https://www.signalhire.com/pricing), [Prospeo](https://prospeo.io/pricing), [Apollo](https://www.apollo.io/pricing), [ContactOut](https://contactout.com/pricing), [Wiza](https://wiza.co/pricing), [Lusha](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/), [Enrich.chat](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).*

The table assumes every contact returns both fields, which is the highest cost. The tools also return different data. [ContactOut](https://contactout.com/recruiters) and SignalHire list personal emails, while Enrich.chat returns work emails. Price is one input and fit is the other.

Volume changes the result. At 2,000 contacts with both fields, Enrich.chat needs 520,000 credits, which is the Pro plan at $299 a month. SignalHire's Unlimited package covers up to 2,000 credits for $99 a month, or $83 billed yearly. Phone-heavy lists of that size are where SignalHire's pricing is hard to beat.

## Do browser extensions put your LinkedIn account at risk?

They can, if LinkedIn decides a tool scrapes or automates its site. [LinkedIn's help page](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1341387) says it does not permit third-party browser extensions that scrape, modify or automate activity on LinkedIn, and that members who use them risk restricted or shut-down accounts. It names no vendors, and we make no claim about any tool here.

SignalHire's [help article](https://www.signalhire.com/knowledge-base/how-to-use-the-signalhire-extension) lists LinkedIn among the sites its extension works on. [Lusha says](https://www.lusha.com/lusha-extension/) its extension does not scrape LinkedIn and pulls from its own database. Wiza says in [a help article dated August 20, 2026](https://help.wiza.co/en/articles/16500453-update-changes-to-chrome-extension-for-linkedin-sales-navigator-and-recruiter) that LinkedIn tightened what extensions can do, and it removed bulk export. Each vendor describes its own tool, and none of those statements is a promise about your account.

A lookup by profile URL runs outside your LinkedIn session. Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn and never uses anyone's account: a LinkedIn URL is only a lookup key. Our guide to [LinkedIn scraping and the law](https://enrich.chat/blog/is-linkedin-scraping-legal/) explains the rules in plain words. It is not legal advice.

## When is SignalHire the better choice?

SignalHire is the better choice when you work in its extension, need an ATS export it supports, or want phone credits at volume. It has strengths that Enrich.chat does not.

- **A browser extension on profile pages.** SignalHire's [help article](https://www.signalhire.com/knowledge-base/how-to-use-the-signalhire-extension) says you open a profile, click the SH icon and press Reveal Contacts. The [extension page](https://www.signalhire.com/extension) lists Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Opera, and the free plan adds 10 credits a month once you install it.
- **ATS and CRM export.** [SignalHire's integrations page](https://www.signalhire.com/integrations) names 16 ATS tools, including Zoho Recruit, Loxo, Ashby and Workable, and 5 CRMs: Salesforce, Pipedrive, HubSpot, Zoho CRM and ActiveCampaign. Enrich.chat has no ATS integration and no native CRM sync.
- **Phone credits at volume.** At the 2,000-credit cap, the Phones Unlimited package costs about $0.05 a credit on monthly billing and $0.04 billed yearly.
- **Personal emails and phone lookups.** SignalHire's home page says it returns personal emails, and its Person API takes a phone number as input. Enrich.chat looks up work emails only and takes no phone number.
- **Bulk enrichment and lists.** The home page says you can enrich up to 1,000 people per run. Saved Job Projects and Lead Lists cost no credit. Enrich.chat's dashboard also has bulk runs and team-shared lists, but a background job holds at most 5,000 rows and keeps its results for 30 days.
- **Users and outreach.** The pricing page lists unlimited users on every paid card, and [SignalHire's sequences page](https://www.signalhire.com/email-sequences) describes cold email from your own mailbox.

If those matter more than cost per contact, stay. Our [SignalHire pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/signalhire-pricing/) shows how to size a plan, and the [best direct dial providers](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-direct-dial-providers/) compares phone-first tools.

## How do you run SignalHire-style lookups from an AI agent?

Add Enrich.chat's remote MCP server at `enrich.chat/mcp` (one-click links are on the [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/)), or paste one prompt so your agent reads [enrich.chat/agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md). A key is optional, and each IP address gets 10 lookups a day at no cost and with no signup. SignalHire's [MCP server](https://www.signalhire.com/mcp-server) works through OAuth on an existing SignalHire account. Most SignalHire calls have a plain GET in their place:

| SignalHire Person API call | Enrich.chat call | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| A LinkedIn URL | `GET /v1/person` | Pass `linkedin_url` and `fields=email,mobile`. One person per request, or up to 25 through `POST /v1/batch`. |
| An email address | `GET /v1/person` | Pass a work `email`. Personal addresses such as Gmail are not looked up. |
| A name and employer | `GET /v1/person` | Pass `name` and `company`, where company is the website, such as acme.com. |
| A phone number | Not supported | Enrich.chat takes no phone number as input. |
| Search API | `GET /v1/search` | Plain-English `q` plus filters such as title, seniority and country. |
| Company API | `GET /v1/company` | Pass the company `domain`, a LinkedIn company page or a `company_id`. |

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to find the work email and mobile for each LinkedIn profile URL below, about one request a second. Mark rows with no match as not found, flag catch_all emails as risky, and give me the match count and total credits_used so I can compare the cost with a SignalHire plan: [paste LinkedIn URLs]
```

The agent returns your rows with new columns and the total `credits_used`. When the free lookups run out, the API returns 402 with a link to your [account page](https://enrich.chat/account/). There you log in with your email, pick Growth ($29), Scale ($90) or Pro ($299) and pay at checkout. Every plan includes every product and unlimited seats, billed monthly, cancel anytime. Credits renew with each monthly payment, and unused credits do not roll over. To try one profile first, use the free [LinkedIn email finder](https://enrich.chat/tools/linkedin-email-finder/) or read the [LinkedIn URL to contact API](https://enrich.chat/api/linkedin-to-contact/) page.

### Where does Enrich.chat fall short of SignalHire?

- **No Chrome extension.** You paste a profile URL into a prompt or an API call instead of clicking a button on the page.
- **No candidate or ATS integrations.** There is no native ATS or CRM sync, so your agent or code writes results where you want them.
- **No sequences or Job Projects.** The dashboard saves lists that your whole [team shares](https://enrich.chat/features/team-workspaces/) and exports them as CSV or Excel (see [lists and export](https://enrich.chat/features/lists-and-export/)), but there are no Job Projects or sequences.
- **Bulk runs have caps.** The dashboard's Bulk enrich can run on the server as a job of up to 5,000 rows with results kept for 30 days, and `POST /v1/batch` takes up to 25 per call. A bigger file means several jobs.
- **Work emails only on the email input.** Personal mailboxes such as Gmail are not looked up.

Anyone can opt out at [enrich.chat/opt-out](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/). You stay responsible for TCPA, CAN-SPAM and GDPR rules when you contact people, and our [terms](https://enrich.chat/terms/) cover account use. If you plan to call the mobiles you find, read our guide to [TCPA rules for B2B cold calling](https://enrich.chat/blog/tcpa-b2b-cold-calling/). It is not legal advice.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best alternative to SignalHire?

It depends on the job. For recruiting, [ContactOut](https://contactout.com/recruiters) and RocketReach export to ATS tools. For sales prospecting, Apollo and Lusha add sequences, CRM sync and an extension. For contact data inside an AI agent or app, Enrich.chat (our product) takes a LinkedIn URL, work email or name and company website over a plain API, and [Prospeo](https://prospeo.io/pricing) and Hunter also have APIs. We checked prices on October 16, 2026.

### Is there a free alternative to SignalHire?

Yes, several tools have free tiers. Enrich.chat gives each IP address 10 lookups a day at no cost and with no signup. [Apollo](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) gives 75 credits a month, [Lusha](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) 40, [Prospeo](https://prospeo.io/pricing) 100 and [Hunter](https://hunter.io/pricing) 50. [ContactOut](https://contactout.com/pricing) allows 5 emails and 5 phones a day, and [Wiza](https://wiza.co/pricing) gives 20 valid emails and 5 phones. [SignalHire's free plan](https://www.signalhire.com/pricing) has 5 credits, or 10 a month with the extension.

### Is SignalHire Unlimited really unlimited?

No. Clause 9.10 of [SignalHire's Terms of Use](https://www.signalhire.com/terms) says unlimited email and phone packages are for annual subscribers and limit spending to 2,000 credits a month across the whole account, with unused credits expiring each month. The [pricing page](https://www.signalhire.com/pricing) also shows Unlimited at monthly prices, so ask SignalHire which applies. Our [SignalHire pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/signalhire-pricing/) works out the cost per credit at the cap.

### Does SignalHire have an API?

Yes. [SignalHire's Person API](https://docs.signalhire.com/overview) looks up a person by LinkedIn URL, email, phone number or profile ID, and it spends the same credits as the website and extension. Results arrive at your callback URL by default, and a synchronous mode may return fewer or older contacts, per its docs. Enrich.chat's GET /v1/person returns JSON in the same response and takes a LinkedIn URL, work email, or name and company website.

### How do I remove my profile from SignalHire?

Use the form on [SignalHire's Profile Opt-Out page](https://www.signalhire.com/opt-out) or email its support address. The form asks for your business email and the URL of your profile page. SignalHire says it aims to process requests promptly, gives no deadline, and says it cannot control the original source websites. Enrich.chat has its own opt-out page at [enrich.chat/opt-out](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/).

### Can I cancel SignalHire or get a refund?

You can cancel at any time. [SignalHire's help center](https://www.signalhire.com/knowledge-base/can-i-cancel-my-subscription) says to open My Account, go to the Billing History tab and deactivate the plan. Plans renew automatically, and clause 9.9 of the [terms](https://www.signalhire.com/terms) says refunds are not offered unless you provide acceptable evidence. Check your billing date before you sign up. Enrich.chat plans are billed monthly and you can cancel anytime.
