# Apollo Chrome extension review: what it does, what it costs, and how to fix it

We read Apollo's help center, its Chrome Web Store listing and its pricing page, and compared five rival extensions. Here is where the extension runs, what each click costs, what it can access, and what to do when it breaks.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 15, 2026.

**Short answer:** The Apollo Chrome extension shows Apollo's contact data and sales tools on LinkedIn, Gmail, Google Calendar, CRMs and company websites, per [Apollo's help center](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4409226637453-Apollo-Chrome-Extension-Overview). It is free on every plan, but each reveal spends credits: 1 for an email and 8 for a phone number, per [Apollo's credits page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing/about-credits). The Free plan's 75 monthly credits cover about 9 phone numbers.

## Key takeaways

- The extension is free on every Apollo plan and runs on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, Gmail, Google Calendar, Salesforce, HubSpot and company websites.
- Each reveal spends Apollo credits: 1 for a verified email and 8 for a phone number. The Free plan's 75 credits a month cover about 9 phones.
- Version 17.1.0 can run on every http and https site and asks for the tabs and webNavigation permissions, which Chrome labels as reading your browsing history.
- LinkedIn's User Agreement bans browser plugins that scrape or copy profiles, and LinkedIn can restrict accounts that break it.
- Most breakages clear with a reload, a fresh sign-in, allowing Apollo's cookies, or turning off a conflicting extension.

## What does the Apollo Chrome extension do?

The Apollo Chrome extension puts Apollo's contact data and sales actions on the pages where you already work. Apollo's [extension overview](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4409226637453-Apollo-Chrome-Extension-Overview) lists Gmail, Google Calendar, LinkedIn, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesloft and company websites.

The extension reads the page you have open and matches it to Apollo's database. On a LinkedIn profile it finds the person. On a company website it finds the company. In Gmail it finds the person you are emailing. It then shows Apollo's record and the actions you can take: reveal an email or phone, save the contact, add it to a list or sequence, log a call, or push it to your CRM.

**Figure 1: Where the Apollo extension runs, what it reads and what it costs.** The Apollo Chrome extension runs on LinkedIn profiles, Sales Navigator, company websites, Gmail, Google Calendar, Salesforce and HubSpot. On each page it reads the person, company or record you have open and matches it to Apollo's database, then lets you save the contact, add it to lists and sequences, or sync it to a CRM. A verified email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8 credits. An office phone found with an email is free, a bounced email can be refunded and a mobile never is. The extension can run on every http and https site and also holds the tabs and webNavigation permissions.

What you can do changes from site to site:

- **LinkedIn profiles.** Select *Access email* to save the contact and get the email, or *Access email & phone* to get both, per [Apollo's LinkedIn guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4409229262093-Prospect-on-LinkedIn-with-the-Apollo-Chrome-Extension). Saving contacts costs credits.
- **Sales Navigator.** The extension shows suggested leads on search pages, but you can't select leads or run bulk actions there. If a profile shows no Apollo data, Apollo's [Sales Navigator guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/46391645933581-Prospect-On-LinkedIn-Sales-Navigator-With-The-Apollo-Chrome-Extension) tells you to open the standard LinkedIn profile.
- **Company websites.** A tab on the right of the page shows the company's employee count and annual revenue, plus a list of its employees to prospect, per Apollo's [guide for all websites](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/20035088687757-Use-the-Apollo-Chrome-Extension-Across-All-Websites).
- **Gmail.** You can track opens and clicks, insert templates and meeting links, set follow-up nudges and log emails to Salesforce or HubSpot. Your Gmail address must be linked to your Apollo account first, per Apollo's [Gmail guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4409227868301-Use-the-Apollo-Chrome-Extension-in-Gmail).
- **Google Calendar and CRMs.** You see contact and company details before a meeting. In Salesforce or HubSpot you can open a record in Apollo, or add many records to a sequence at once, per Apollo's [guide to the extension's actions](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/42157823129357-Use-the-Apollo-Chrome-Extension).

The extension has no data or account of its own. It is a window into your Apollo seat, so its limits are your plan's limits.

## How do you install and use the Apollo extension?

You install the Apollo extension from the Chrome Web Store, pin it, and log in with your Apollo account. The steps follow [Apollo's install guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4409154350477-Install-the-Apollo-Chrome-Extension).

1. **Add it.** Open the [Apollo.io listing in the Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/apolloio-free-b2b-phone-n/alhgpfoeiimagjlnfekdhkjlkiomcapa) and select Add to Chrome, then Add extension. Check the publisher before you click: the real listing links to apollo.io and names ZenLeads Inc. as the developer.
2. **Pin it.** Open the Extensions menu and select the pin icon next to Apollo.io.
3. **Log in.** Select the extension, then Log In, and use your Apollo email and password or single sign-on. If Apollo is already open in another tab, the extension logs you in on its own.
4. **Open a profile.** Go to a LinkedIn profile, select the Apollo icon, and choose Access email or Access email & phone.
5. **Choose where it shows.** In the extension, open Settings, General, Extension Visibility. You can switch it on or off per platform, or exclude a single website, per Apollo's [troubleshooting guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4409227269389-Troubleshoot-the-Apollo-Chrome-Extension).

The extension also runs on Microsoft Edge, where updates arrive after Chrome. Apollo does not support it on Safari or Firefox. Brave, Arc and Opera may run it, but Apollo does not support them.

Two things to know before you start. First, the store listing's free-tier text is out of date. It still promises "unlimited email credits" on the free tier, while [Apollo's pricing page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) lists 75 credits a month on Free, and an email costs 1 credit. Trust the pricing page. Second, Apollo says it [doesn't remove EU-based or UK-based contacts](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4409226637453-Apollo-Chrome-Extension-Overview) from the extension. Check a prospect's location and your GDPR basis before you reach out.

## How many credits does the Apollo extension use?

The Apollo extension spends the same credits as the Apollo app: 1 for an email and 8 for a phone number, per [Apollo's About Credits page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing/about-credits). Apollo's own FAQ says the cost depends on the action you take, and you can check your usage under Settings, Credits.

| Action in the extension | Credits | What to know |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Access email | 1 | Charged only for emails Apollo can verify. A personal email, a business email or both still cost 1. |
| Access email & phone | 9 | 1 for the email plus 8 for the phone. Any phone number costs 8. |
| Office phone found with an email | 0 | Apollo looks for a verified office line for free when you request an email. |
| Email that bounces | Refunded | Only if you sent it from Apollo within 30 days of the request. The credit comes back next billing cycle. |
| Mobile that turns out wrong | Not refunded | Apollo never refunds credits for mobile numbers. |

The refund and office-phone rules come from Apollo's article on [requesting contact data](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4738396786701-Request-Contact-Data-in-Apollo). Those charges apply to net-new contacts, meaning people not yet saved in your Apollo account.

### Apollo extension limits on each plan

Every Apollo plan includes the extension, Free included. [Apollo's pricing page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) lists "Prospecting, Gmail & Salesforce Extensions" on all four plans. What changes is the size of the credit pool.

| Apollo plan | Price per seat | Credits per seat | Phones a month, if all credits go to phones | Records per bulk action |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | 75 a month | 9 | 25 |
| Basic | $49 a month billed annually, $65 monthly | 2,500 a month | 312 | 1,000 |
| Professional | $79 a month billed annually, $99 monthly | 4,000 a month | 500 | 2,500 |
| Organization | $119 a month, annual only, 3 seats minimum | 72,000 a year (6,000 a month) | 750 | 10,000 |

Annual plans grant the whole year of credits up front. Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and never roll over. The last column is Apollo's record selection limit, which caps how many records you can select in one action. On lower plans you save in smaller batches. Our [Apollo pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-pricing/) covers every plan and the real cost per contact.

### What a month of reveals really costs

Say one rep reveals an email and a phone for 100 LinkedIn profiles a month. That takes 900 credits, far more than the Free plan's 75. The cheapest fit is one Basic seat at $65 a month, and 1,600 credits expire unused. Even if the rep uses every credit, an email plus a phone costs about $0.23 on monthly Basic: $65 divided by 2,500 credits, times 9.

**Figure 2: What one rep pays each month to reveal an email and a phone per contact.** Bar chart for one rep who reveals an email and a phone number for 25, 100 or 250 LinkedIn profiles a month. Apollo needs 225, 900 or 2,250 credits, so the cheapest fit each time is one Basic seat billed monthly at $65, and 2,275, 1,600 or 250 credits expire. Enrich.chat needs 6,500, 26,000 or 65,000 credits, which fits the Growth plan at $29 a month each time, with unlimited seats.

*Illustrative maths: an email at 1 credit and a phone at 8, on one Apollo Basic seat billed monthly ($65 for 2,500 credits). The Apollo seat also includes sequences, a dialer and Gmail tracking. The Enrich.chat bars are the monthly price of the plan that fits each list, assuming every lookup finds both an email and a mobile; lookups with no match use no credits. Sources: [Apollo pricing](https://www.apollo.io/pricing), [About Credits](https://www.apollo.io/pricing/about-credits), checked October 15, 2026, and [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).*

A credit plan spends credits only on what it finds. On [Enrich.chat](https://enrich.chat/pricing/), a verified work email costs 10 credits and a mobile 250. Those three lists need 6,500, 26,000 and 65,000 credits a month, and all three fit the Growth plan at $29 a month, with unlimited seats. Pro-rated at that plan's rate, the lists use $1.89, $7.54 and $18.85 of credits, but the plan itself is $29 a month. A lookup with no match costs 0 credits. The Apollo seat buys more than data, though, so compare it with the work you actually do.

## Is the Apollo Chrome extension safe to install?

The Apollo extension is a Featured listing from a known publisher, but it asks for broad access. It can run on every website you open and see your tabs. Chrome-Stats, a third-party site that reads each extension's manifest, lists these permissions for [version 17.1.0, updated September 29, 2026](https://chrome-stats.com/d/alhgpfoeiimagjlnfekdhkjlkiomcapa).

| Permission | What it allows | Warning Chrome shows |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Host access to \*://\*/\* | Run on any http or https site, per Chrome's [match pattern rules](https://developer.chrome.com/docs/extensions/develop/concepts/match-patterns). Its scripts load on LinkedIn, Gmail, Google Calendar, Salesforce, HubSpot and all other URLs. | Covered by Chrome's site access setting, which you can narrow |
| tabs | Read the address and title of your open tabs | [Read your browsing history](https://developer.chrome.com/docs/extensions/reference/permissions-list) |
| webNavigation | See when you move from page to page | Read your browsing history |
| notifications | Show desktop pop-ups, such as email opens | Display notifications |
| scripting, storage, contextMenus, sidePanel | Add scripts to pages, save settings, add a right-click menu and a side panel | None listed |

The store listing adds the developer's own disclosure. It says the extension handles personally identifiable information, location and user activity, and that Apollo does not sell this data outside approved uses, per the [listing's privacy section](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/apolloio-free-b2b-phone-n/alhgpfoeiimagjlnfekdhkjlkiomcapa/privacy). The listing also says the extension follows Chrome's recommended practices.

Broad access is normal for a tool that works on any company website. It is still your call. To limit it, open Extensions, then Manage extensions, select Details on Apollo.io, and set site access to "On specific sites", per [Chrome Web Store Help](https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/answer/2664769). Add LinkedIn and Gmail if that is all you use. Apollo's company website panel will then stop working elsewhere.

## Can the Apollo extension get your LinkedIn account restricted?

It can, and the account at risk is yours, not Apollo's. LinkedIn does not permit browser extensions that scrape, modify the appearance of, or automate activity on its site. It warns that members who use them [risk having their accounts restricted or shut down](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1341387).

The rules sit in [Section 8.2 of the LinkedIn User Agreement](https://www.linkedin.com/legal/user-agreement). It bans browser plugins and add-ons that scrape or copy profiles, bots that add contacts or send messages, and tools that overlay or change LinkedIn's pages. Section 3.4 lets LinkedIn restrict, suspend or close accounts that break the agreement.

To be fair to Apollo, LinkedIn does not publish a list of banned tools, and it has not said in public that Apollo's extension breaks its rules. Apollo describes the extension as matching the page you view to Apollo's own database. LinkedIn has acted against Apollo the company, though. In March 2025, [MarTech reported that LinkedIn removed Apollo's company page](https://martech.org/a-pair-of-lead-gen-providers-have-disappeared-from-linkedin/) and gave no public reason. Apollo's CEO told MarTech the removal did not affect Apollo's services. When we checked on October 15, 2026, [Apollo's LinkedIn page](https://www.linkedin.com/company/apolloio) was live again.

If you use the extension on LinkedIn, keep the risk low:

- **Open profiles by hand.** Do not pair the extension with bots that visit profiles, send connection requests or message people for you.
- **Keep LinkedIn steps manual.** The store listing says the extension can "automate end-to-end LinkedIn prospecting". Apollo's [task guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/42157823129357-Use-the-Apollo-Chrome-Extension) says you perform LinkedIn actions yourself, then mark the task complete. Keep it that way.
- **Remove automation extensions.** Apollo's own troubleshooting guide lists Dux-Soup among the extensions that conflict with it.

Our guide on [how to find someone's email on LinkedIn](https://enrich.chat/blog/find-email-on-linkedin/) covers the methods that don't involve an extension at all.

## Why is the Apollo extension not working?

Most failures come from a stale session, an old version, blocked cookies or another extension. Apollo's [troubleshooting guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4409227269389-Troubleshoot-the-Apollo-Chrome-Extension) says to run its checks in order and test after each one. Figure 3 groups them the way Apollo does.

**Figure 3: How to fix the Apollo extension, in Apollo's order.** Twelve checks from Apollo's troubleshooting guide in three groups. First the extension: reload it, sign out and back in, and check for an update. Then Chrome: update the browser, use Chrome or Edge, allow Apollo's third-party cookies, hard refresh the page and clear Apollo's site data. Then conflicts: test in incognito, turn off other extensions, have IT allowlist Apollo's domains and exclude a problem website. If it still fails, send Apollo support your browser, extension version and errors.

*The checks in Apollo's troubleshooting guide, in the three groups Apollo uses. Source: [Troubleshoot the Apollo Chrome Extension](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4409227269389-Troubleshoot-the-Apollo-Chrome-Extension), checked October 15, 2026.*

Match what you see to the likely cause:

| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
| --- | --- | --- |
| No Apollo panel on LinkedIn or a website | A stale extension or session, or the site is hidden in settings | Reload the extension from the Extensions menu, sign out and back in, then check Extension Visibility |
| No Apollo data on a Sales Navigator profile | Sales Navigator support is partial | Select the three dots, then View LinkedIn profile, and open the extension there |
| Gmail tools are missing | Your Gmail address is not linked to Apollo | Link the mailbox to your Apollo user, then reload Gmail |
| It works in incognito only | Another extension or stored site data | Turn off other extensions one by one, then clear site data for app.apollo.io, extension.apollo.io and assets.apollo.io |
| It won't load on a work laptop | A managed browser or security tool | Ask IT to allow [\*.]apollo.io and [\*.]pusher.com, plus [\*.]twilio.com for calls |
| Apollo shows a warning or limits your access | An unsupported scraper or automation extension is installed | Remove it and refresh Apollo |
| It won't install | Safari or Firefox | Use Chrome or Edge |

If Chrome blocks third-party cookies, add [\*.]apollo.io under chrome://settings/cookies as a site allowed to use them. Apollo also names extensions with known conflicts, including Grammarly, Ghostery, Chili Piper, Outreach, Groove, Mixmax, Dux-Soup and Privacy Badger. If one of them is the cause, Apollo suggests a separate Chrome profile with only Apollo-friendly extensions. Still stuck? Send Apollo support your browser version, extension version, a screenshot, and any errors listed under chrome://extensions, then Apollo.io, then Errors.

## How does Apollo compare with Lusha and other contact finder extensions?

Apollo has the most users of the six extensions we checked, and Hunter has the most ratings. Free tiers are small everywhere, and phones cost more than emails. We read each Chrome Web Store listing and each vendor's pricing page on October 15, 2026.

| Extension | Where it works | Free tier | Phone numbers | Chrome Web Store |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Apollo | LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, Gmail, Calendar, CRMs, company sites | [75 credits a month](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) | 8 credits each | [4.7 from 2.2K ratings, 1,000,000 users](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/apolloio-free-b2b-phone-n/alhgpfoeiimagjlnfekdhkjlkiomcapa) |
| Lusha | LinkedIn, Gmail, Calendar, company sites, CRM | [40 credits a month, 1 seat](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) | 5 credits each | [4.1 from 1.9K ratings, 400,000 users](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/lusha-easily-find-b2b-con/mcebeofpilippmndlpcghpmghcljajna) |
| ContactOut | LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, Recruiter, any website | [5 emails, 5 phones and 5 exports a day](https://contactout.com/pricing), marked limited time only | 5 a day on the free tier | [4.1 from 800 ratings, 600,000 users](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/email-finder-by-contactou/jjdemeiffadmmjhkbbpglgnlgeafomjo) |
| Kaspr | LinkedIn and Sales Navigator, connected to your LinkedIn account | [15 B2B email, 5 phone and 5 direct email credits a month](https://www.kaspr.io/pricing) | Phone credits, 5 a month free | [4.7 from 1.2K ratings, 100,000 users](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/kaspr-b2b-phone-number-an/kkfgenjfpmoegefcckjklfjieepogfhg) |
| Hunter | Any company website, or a search by name | [50 credits a month](https://hunter.io/pricing) | No phone credits; shows a phone when Hunter has one | [4.8 from 12.5K ratings, 700,000 users](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hunter-email-finder-exten/hgmhmanijnjhaffoampdlllchpolkdnj) |
| SignalHire | LinkedIn, Facebook, GitHub, X and Meetup profiles | [5 credits, or 10 a month with the extension](https://www.signalhire.com/pricing) | 1 credit per contact covers email and phone | [5.0 from 626 ratings, 400,000 users](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/signalhire-find-email-or/aeidadjdhppdffggfgjpanbafaedankd) |
| Enrich.chat | No extension: paste a URL into the web tool or your AI agent | 10 tool lookups, plus 10 a day by API, no signup | 250 credits each, on plans from $29 a month | Not applicable |

A few details the table can't hold:

- **Lusha** is the closest match to Apollo. Its credits work across the extension, the web app and the API. An email costs 1 credit and a phone 5, per [Lusha's pricing page](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/), so the 40 free credits buy up to 8 phones.
- **ContactOut** has the largest free daily allowance, but it marks the free tier limited time only and allows 1 free user per company.
- **Kaspr** asks you to connect the extension to your LinkedIn account, per its [store listing](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/kaspr-b2b-phone-number-an/kkfgenjfpmoegefcckjklfjieepogfhg), so it works through your own LinkedIn login.
- **Hunter** is built for websites, not LinkedIn. Its [help center](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/1852705-chrome-extension) says it returns emails Hunter has indexed for the domain, not ones it reads off the page. A search that finds nothing costs no credit.
- **SignalHire** takes 1 credit per contact only when it returns at least one email or phone, per its [pricing FAQ](https://www.signalhire.com/pricing).

For a ranked view, read our [comparison of LinkedIn email finders](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-linkedin-email-finder/) and our list of [Apollo alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/apollo/).

## Can you get LinkedIn contact details without an extension?

Yes. Copy the profile URL and paste it into a lookup tool or your AI agent. Nothing runs inside your browser or your LinkedIn session.

The free [LinkedIn email and phone finder](https://enrich.chat/tools/linkedin-email-finder/) takes any linkedin.com/in/ address. It returns the name, title, company, work email and mobile. Each email comes back marked verified, catch_all or unknown. Each mobile is labeled mobile or unknown by line type, which says what kind of number it is, not that it belongs to the person. You get 10 free lookups, and a lookup with no match is not counted.

From ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or any agent that can make web requests, paste this prompt and then your URLs:

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to find the work email and mobile for each LinkedIn profile URL I paste below. Show the email status and line status for each, and mark rows with no match as not found.
```

The agent reads the instructions and calls one endpoint per profile:

```
GET https://enrich.chat/v1/person
    ?linkedin_url=linkedin.com/in/jane-doe
    &fields=email,mobile
{"found": true,
 "work_email": {"value": "jane.doe@acme.com", "status": "verified"},
 "mobile": {"value": "+14155550142", "line": "mobile"},
 "credits_used": 260, "free_lookups_remaining": 9}
```

Agents get 10 free lookups a day per IP with no signup. For more volume there are monthly credit plans, Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits; a work email costs 10 credits and a mobile 250. Each response includes `credits_used`, and free-tier responses add `free_lookups_remaining`. Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn or uses anyone's LinkedIn account. The URL is only a lookup key. The [LinkedIn URL to email and mobile API](https://enrich.chat/api/linkedin-to-contact/) has the details.

The trade-off is real. For one-by-one browsing, an extension is faster: the data appears beside the profile and you never leave the page. With a URL lookup, you copy each address yourself. Enrich.chat also has no Chrome extension, no sequencer and no dialer. It suits lists, agents and scripts, and teams that want unlimited seats and no extension on every rep's browser. The [guide for AI agents](https://enrich.chat/agents/) shows the setup, and the [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/) adds its MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and more.

## Is the Apollo Chrome extension worth it?

The Apollo extension is worth it if your team already pays for Apollo and prospects on LinkedIn and in Gmail every day. It costs nothing extra, and it brings sequences, email tracking and CRM sync into the tabs reps already use. Its 4.7 average from 2.2K store ratings suggests most raters are happy.

- **Use it if** you run outreach from Apollo, you look at profiles one at a time, and your credits cover the phones you reveal.
- **Think twice if** you need phones on the Free plan (about 9 a month), your IT team limits site access, or your LinkedIn account matters too much to risk on any extension.
- **Skip it if** you only need emails and mobiles inside an AI agent, a spreadsheet or an app. A credit-plan API such as Enrich.chat spends no credits on misses and gives every plan unlimited seats.

If you plan to pull Apollo data into code or an agent instead, our guides to the [Apollo API](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-api/) and the [Apollo MCP alternative](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-mcp-alternative/) explain how those spend the same credit pool.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is the Apollo Chrome extension free?

Yes. The extension is free to install and works on Apollo's Free plan. Revealing contact data still costs credits: 1 per email and 8 per phone number, per [Apollo's About Credits page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing/about-credits). The Free plan gives 75 credits a seat a month, enough for 75 emails or 9 phone numbers. Paid plans start at $49 a seat a month billed annually, or $65 billed monthly, per [Apollo's pricing page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing), checked October 15, 2026.

### Does the Apollo extension work on LinkedIn Sales Navigator?

Partly. On a Sales Navigator search page, the extension shows suggested leads based on your search, but you can't select leads or take bulk actions there. Some Sales Navigator profiles show no Apollo data. When that happens, select the three dots, then View LinkedIn profile, and open the extension on the standard profile, per [Apollo's Sales Navigator guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/46391645933581-Prospect-On-LinkedIn-Sales-Navigator-With-The-Apollo-Chrome-Extension). Reveals there cost the same credits as anywhere else.

### How do I remove the Apollo extension from Chrome?

Right-click the Apollo icon to the right of the address bar and select Remove from Chrome. If the icon is hidden, open the Chrome menu, then Extensions, then Manage extensions, and select Remove on Apollo.io, per [Chrome Web Store Help](https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/answer/2664769). To pause it instead, switch it off on the same page. Contacts you saved stay in your Apollo account, because the extension saves them to Apollo, not to your browser.

### Does the Apollo extension work on Safari, Firefox or Edge?

It works on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, the two browsers Apollo supports. Edge gets updates after Chrome. Apollo says Brave, Arc and Opera may run the extension but are not supported, and it does not support Safari or Firefox at all, per its [troubleshooting guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4409227269389-Troubleshoot-the-Apollo-Chrome-Extension). If you work in Safari, install Chrome or Edge for prospecting, or use a lookup tool that runs in any browser.

### Will LinkedIn ban you for using the Apollo extension?

LinkedIn has not said it bans Apollo's extension, and it publishes no list of banned tools. Its rules still apply to you. LinkedIn bans browser extensions that scrape, change or automate its site, and says members who use them [risk having their accounts restricted or shut down](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1341387). The safest pattern is manual use on profiles you open yourself, with no bots, or a URL lookup that never touches your LinkedIn login.

### What is the best Chrome extension for finding emails?

It depends on where you prospect. For company websites, [Hunter's extension](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/hunter-email-finder-exten/hgmhmanijnjhaffoampdlllchpolkdnj) finds the emails tied to a domain and has 4.8 stars from 12.5K ratings. For LinkedIn profiles with phone numbers, Apollo and Lusha are the closest rivals, at 8 and 5 credits per phone. If you would rather install nothing, paste LinkedIn URLs into the free [LinkedIn email finder](https://enrich.chat/tools/linkedin-email-finder/) or your AI agent.
