# Apollo phone numbers in 2026: what a mobile credit buys, how many you get, and what it costs

We read Apollo's pricing page, help center and API docs on October 15, 2026. Here is how phone reveals work, what they cost on each plan, what is not refunded, and when another route makes more sense.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 15, 2026.

**Short answer:** Apollo charges 8 credits for each phone number it reveals, against 1 credit for an email, per [Apollo's credits page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing/about-credits). Mobile, work direct, home and other numbers cost the same, and [Apollo refunds no credits for mobile numbers](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4738396786701-Request-Contact-Data-in-Apollo). If you spend every credit, a number costs about $0.16 to $0.21, and the Free plan's 75 monthly credits buy 9.

## Key takeaways

- Apollo charges 8 credits for a phone number and 1 for an email. Mobile, work direct, home and other numbers cost the same, and HQ or corporate numbers cost nothing.
- Apollo's pricing page shows one credit pool per seat and no separate mobile credit. Some setups, and waterfall enrichment, can still show separate email and mobile balances.
- If every credit buys phones, one seat reveals about 9 numbers a month on Free, 312 on Basic, 500 on Professional and 750 on Organization.
- Apollo refunds no credits for mobile numbers and still charges for a number on a Do Not Call list. A waterfall phone lookup typically uses 8 to 25 credits.
- A mobile costs about $0.16 to $0.21 on Apollo if you use every credit, by our math from prices checked October 15, 2026. Unused credits expire each cycle.

## How do you get phone numbers on Apollo?

You get a phone number on Apollo by searching in People and clicking Access mobile beside a person's name. Apollo reveals the number if it has one and charges credits for it. The steps below follow [Apollo's phone number guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/31969477982221-Access-a-Prospect-s-Phone-Number), which we read on October 15, 2026.

- **New people.** Open People, filter your search and click **Access mobile**. Apollo saves the person as a contact, with their email address.
- **Saved contacts.** Open People, then Saved, and click **Request phone number**. To do many at once, check the contacts and choose Enrich, then Enrich mobile numbers.
- **Bulk, for new people.** Select people, click Save, open Emails & Phone Numbers and turn on Find data via Waterfall under phone number enrichment.
- **The API.** Call people enrichment with `reveal_phone_number=true` and a `webhook_url`. [Apollo's developer guide](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/retrieve-mobile-phone-numbers-for-contacts) says phone enrichment runs asynchronously, so the number reaches your webhook after the first response.

Apollo labels each number it returns. The guide lists four personal types: mobile, work direct, home and other. "Other" means any personal number not labeled mobile, work, home or corporate. When Apollo has one, it also shows the corporate or HQ number, and it [charges no credits for HQ or corporate numbers](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/31969477982221-Access-a-Prospect-s-Phone-Number). If a number is on a do not call registry, Apollo warns you.

Waterfall enrichment adds a step. Apollo says waterfall [runs by default](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/34071121664781-Use-Waterfall-Enrichment) each time you access one contact's email or phone during a search, using the sources your admin picked. Our [review of the Apollo Chrome extension](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-chrome-extension/) covers the same reveals on LinkedIn. Figure 1 shows the path.

**Figure 1: What happens when you click Access mobile in Apollo.** Three columns. You search People and click Access mobile, or click Request phone number on a saved contact. Apollo checks its own data first, then the waterfall sources your admin set, then flags Do Not Call numbers. You get a number labeled mobile, work direct, home or other, and an HQ number that is free. The charge is 8 credits for the number, and Apollo refunds no credits for mobile numbers.

## How many credits does an Apollo phone number cost, and what is a mobile credit?

A phone number costs 8 credits on Apollo and an email costs 1, per [Apollo's About Credits page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing/about-credits). The page says mobile, direct and office extension numbers all cost the same, so there is no separate rate for mobiles.

Apollo's pricing page does not show a separate "mobile credit". It shows one balance per seat: 900 credits a year on Free, then 30,000, 48,000 and 72,000 a seat on the paid plans billed annually. Phone numbers, emails, enrichment and AI research all draw on that pool, and [credits are shared across the team](https://www.apollo.io/pricing). We checked the page on October 15, 2026.

So why do guides still talk about mobile credits? Some Apollo setups still keep credit types apart. Apollo's [credit usage guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/9527776320781-Review-Credit-Usage-in-Apollo) says export credits may apply only to certain plans or legacy configurations. It also says waterfall email and mobile data use separate credit balances. The [API pricing page](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/api-pricing) warns that legacy workspaces may use credits differently. Third-party guides add to the confusion: one [competitor's pricing guide](https://bitscale.ai/blogs/apollo-pricing-a-full-breakdown-of-plans-credits-hidden-costs-2026) notes that Professional now uses a unified allowance, not a separate allowance of 50 mobile credits a month. Open About credits in your own Apollo settings to see which rules your account follows.

### What does one number cost in dollars?

Apollo's pricing page lists no price per credit, so divide the seat price by the seat's credits. On Basic billed annually, $588 a year buys 30,000 credits, which is about $0.0196 a credit. A number is 8 credits, so it costs about $0.16. On Basic billed monthly, $65 for 2,500 credits is $0.026 a credit, so a number costs about $0.21. Professional and Organization fall between those two. Our [Apollo pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-pricing/) has the full table and shows how unused credits raise the cost.

### What does a call add?

A reveal is not the whole cost of a call. Apollo's US dialer costs [1 credit per 30 seconds](https://www.apollo.io/pricing). Its credit usage guide says only connected calls use credits, with a 30-second minimum, and that calls which ring out, are busy or fail use none. A three-minute connected call after a reveal uses 8 + 6 = 14 credits.

## How many phone numbers can you get on each Apollo plan?

If every credit goes to phones, one Apollo seat reveals about 9 numbers a month on Free, 312 on Basic, 500 on Professional and 750 on Organization. Real totals are lower, because emails, enrichment and AI research draw on the same credits. Figure 2 shows the math.

**Figure 2: Mobile numbers one Apollo seat can reveal in a month.** Bar chart of how many phone numbers a month a seat's credits buy at 8 credits each, if every credit buys a phone. Apollo Free with 75 credits buys 9. Basic with 2,500 credits buys 312. Professional with 4,000 credits buys 500. Organization with 6,000 credits buys 750. The Enrich.chat Growth plan, $29 for 100,000 credits at 250 credits a mobile, buys 400 for all seats.

*Credits a seat per month, divided by 8 credits a number. Apollo plans are billed annually, with the year's credits divided by 12, and each bar is for one seat. The Enrich.chat bar is the Growth plan, $29 for 100,000 credits at 250 credits a mobile, shared by unlimited seats; see [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/). Our arithmetic from [Apollo pricing](https://www.apollo.io/pricing), checked October 15, 2026.*

Credits are not the only limit. This table sets out what else changes by plan, from [Apollo's plan comparison](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) and its [API rate limits](https://docs.apollo.io/reference/rate-limits).

| Apollo plan | Credits per seat | Records you can select at once | API enrichment calls |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | 900 a year, granted monthly (75 a month) | 25 | 50 a minute, 600 a day |
| Basic | 30,000 a year, or 2,500 a month | 1,000 | 1,000 a minute |
| Professional | 48,000 a year, or 4,000 a month | 2,500 | 1,000 a minute |
| Organization | 72,000 a year; 3 seats minimum | 10,000 | 1,000 a minute |

A few more limits apply to phones:

- **Trials.** A 14-day trial of Basic or Professional includes 75 credits, which is 9 numbers. Apollo also [caps phone access at 20 numbers](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/5288168088205-Access-a-Free-Trial-of-Apollo) for the whole trial, whatever your balance.
- **Bulk API calls.** Bulk people enrichment takes up to 10 people per request, per Apollo's [phone guide](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/retrieve-mobile-phone-numbers-for-contacts). Free plans get [20 bulk calls a minute](https://docs.apollo.io/reference/rate-limits).
- **Expiry.** Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle, so a quiet month does not carry over.
- **Caps.** Admins can set per-user credit caps, so one rep cannot drain the shared pool.

## Does Apollo charge when it finds no phone number, and are mobile credits refunded?

Apollo's pages disagree about misses, and none of them offers a refund for mobile numbers. The help center says Apollo [charges credits each time you access a verified email or any phone number](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4738396786701-Request-Contact-Data-in-Apollo) for net-new contacts. It does not say what happens when no number exists. Other Apollo pages say more, and Figure 3 sets them side by side.

**Figure 3: What a phone lookup costs when no number is found.** Four rows. Apollo's app charges on access and does not describe a miss, so it is not stated. Apollo's API people enrichment adds 8 credits only if a mobile is returned, so a miss costs 0 credits. Apollo's waterfall differs between pages: the help center says no data means no charge, while the API docs say some sources charge even when nothing is found. Enrich.chat uses 0 credits when found is false.

*What each route does when no phone number is found. Sources: Apollo's [Request Contact Data](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4738396786701-Request-Contact-Data-in-Apollo), [API pricing](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/api-pricing) and [Waterfall Enrichment Overview](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/34071089002509-Waterfall-Enrichment-Overview), checked October 15, 2026, and Enrich.chat's [agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md).*

- **The API.** Apollo's API pricing page says people enrichment [uses 1 credit for demographics and email, plus 8 if a mobile phone is returned](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/api-pricing), and charges only when credit-using data is found.
- **Waterfall, help center.** The [waterfall FAQ](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/34071089002509-Waterfall-Enrichment-Overview) says you aren't charged if a source can't find any data.
- **Waterfall, API docs.** The API pricing page says some data sources consume credits for a lookup even when they find no phone number.
- **Net-new contacts.** The phone guide says accessing a net-new number also saves the contact with their email. It does not say whether the 1-credit email charge applies in the app too.

### What does Apollo refund?

Refunds are narrow. Apollo refunds a credit only for an Apollo-verified email that bounces within 30 days, when you sent it from Apollo. It states that it [doesn't refund any credits for mobile numbers](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4738396786701-Request-Contact-Data-in-Apollo). You can flag a wrong number on a saved contact. The [flag guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/5973769310093-Flag-Inaccurate-Contact-or-Account-Data) says the flag isn't shared with other users and says nothing about credits.

You can at least audit your phone spend. Apollo's credit usage table lists each request with the credits used or refunded and the type of data requested, such as phone data, per its [credit usage guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/9527776320781-Review-Credit-Usage-in-Apollo).

## How do waterfall lookups change what a phone number costs?

A waterfall lookup can cost far more than 8 credits. Apollo's API pricing page says [phone waterfall enrichment typically uses 8 to 25 credits](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/api-pricing), and some configurations use 45 or more. A plain reveal is 8.

Here is how Apollo describes a waterfall, from its [overview](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/34071089002509-Waterfall-Enrichment-Overview) and [setup guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/34071121664781-Use-Waterfall-Enrichment):

- Apollo checks its own data first, then moves down a lineup of sources your admin sets. Each source that returns data charges credits.
- Sources that return unverified data still charge. If you ask for a verified result, the run keeps going until it finds one, which can cost more.
- An optional validator charges each time it checks a number. If several sources return a number for one contact, the validator can run on each.
- Apollo says phone data typically costs more per provider than email.
- Admins can remove third-party sources so Apollo is the only source. Apollo says credit use stays the same but coverage may be lower.
- Apollo skips a third-party source that already returned usable data for the same contact within 30 days.

Apollo shows a credit estimate before a run, so read it before you save a large batch. In the API, [waterfall is off until you set `run_waterfall_phone=true`](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/enrich-phone-and-email-using-data-waterfall) and give a webhook. Our guide to [waterfall enrichment](https://enrich.chat/blog/waterfall-enrichment/) explains when extra sources are worth the credits.

## What do users say about Apollo phone numbers?

Reviews are mixed and the samples are small. We read the Trustpilot reviews that mention phone numbers on October 15, 2026. We did not test Apollo's numbers ourselves, and we found no independent test of them that we could open.

- A UK reviewer wrote in May 2026 that [5 of the first 8 numbers they called were wrong](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/apollo.io?search=phone), and that Apollo declined to refund the credits.
- A US reviewer who sold to restaurant owners wrote in March 2026 that [pick-up rates were low and many numbers were poor](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/apollo.io?search=phone).
- A reviewer in France wrote in November 2025 that [Apollo usually has numbers when competitors do not](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/apollo.io?search=phone), and that wrong ones tend to come from people who share a name.
- A UK reviewer wrote in April 2026 that [a phone enrichment run took credits and returned no results](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/apollo.io?search=phone), and that support found nothing to investigate.

Trustpilot's reviewers choose themselves, so treat these as anecdotes. Some competitor blogs publish connect or accuracy percentages for Apollo's numbers. We leave them out: each comes from a vendor that sells a rival product, and we could not check how it measured. The honest test is your own list. Reveal 100 numbers, dial them, and log who answers, wrong numbers and misses. Check each number's line type first with the free [phone number validator](https://enrich.chat/tools/phone-number-validator/). For rules on calling mobiles, read our [TCPA guide for B2B cold calling](https://enrich.chat/blog/tcpa-b2b-cold-calling/).

## Does Apollo's Do Not Call screening make a call legal?

No. Apollo's own help center calls its screening ["a compliance aid, not a consent-management system"](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/19207906524557-Enable-Do-Not-Call-DNC-Phone-Screening). It helps you see which numbers may be restricted. It does not tell you whether you may call.

- **Coverage.** Apollo offers screening for numbers you request in the US, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK, including UK TPS and Corporate TPS. An admin has to turn it on.
- **Cost.** Apollo charges credits for every phone number request, including numbers on a DNC list.
- **Dialing.** Apollo blocks DNC numbers from being dialed. With explicit consent you can override the block when you dial one contact. Power and parallel dialers skip these numbers.
- **Exports.** If you export contacts to another dialer, the Do Not Call flag may not travel with them.

In opt-in countries, Apollo says your team must confirm consent or another lawful basis itself. In the US, mobile numbers carry extra rules, and a work phone is not exempt. Our [TCPA guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/tcpa-b2b-cold-calling/) cites the statute and the FCC rules. This is not legal advice, and no data tool makes a call compliant.

## When is Apollo the better choice for phone numbers?

Apollo is the better choice when your reps reveal, dial and follow up in one app. The seat buys the database, the dialer and the sequences along with the numbers.

- **You call from Apollo.** Its dialer, Do Not Call blocking and sequences sit next to the reveal button. The [Advanced Dialer add-on](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) adds power and parallel dialing.
- **You want a database to browse.** You can filter people, save lists and reveal numbers only for the ones you will call.
- **Your seats are already paid for.** On annual plans a number is about $0.16 by our math if you use every credit.
- **You need screening in six regions.** Apollo's DNC screening covers the US, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Apollo is a weaker fit when you only need numbers inside a script or an AI agent. You pay for seats, mobile credits are not refunded, and the API sends numbers later to a webhook. Our [Apollo API guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-api/) covers that flow, and [Apollo MCP alternatives](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-mcp-alternative/) covers agents.

## How can your AI agent get mobile numbers without an Apollo seat?

Enrich.chat returns a mobile number in one HTTPS call, with no seat. Send a LinkedIn URL to `/v1/mobile`, or a name and a company website to `/v1/person` with `fields=mobile`. The reply has the number, its line type and `credits_used`. Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn: the URL is only a lookup key.

```
GET https://enrich.chat/v1/mobile?linkedin_url=linkedin.com/in/jane-doe-ops
{"found": true, "mobile": {"value": "+1 415 555 0142", "line": "mobile"},
 "credits_used": 250, "free_lookups_remaining": 9}
```

- **Cost.** A mobile found uses 250 credits. A lookup that finds nothing returns `"found": false` and uses 0.
- **Line type.** `mobile.line` is `mobile` or `unknown`. That is the number's type. It does not show that the phone works, that the person will answer, or that you may call it.
- **Plans.** You get 10 free lookups a day with no signup. Monthly plans are Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits, with unlimited seats and no annual contract. Growth covers 400 mobiles, or $0.0725 each if you use every credit.
- **Agents.** The same lookup works through the keyless MCP server (the `find_mobile_number` tool) and the plain API, as the [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/) shows.

This table sets list prices side by side, using Apollo's cheapest plan that fits each workload (Basic billed monthly or annually, 8 credits a number). Apollo's price includes its app, dialer and sequences. Enrich.chat sells data only.

| Workload | Apollo, cheapest fit | Enrich.chat |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 100 mobiles | 800 credits: one Basic seat, $65 billed monthly or $49 billed annually | 25,000 credits: the Growth plan, $29 a month |
| 300 mobiles | 2,400 credits: one Basic seat, same price | 75,000 credits: the Growth plan, $29 a month |
| 5 callers, 1,500 mobiles in all | 12,000 credits: 5 Basic seats, $325 a month billed monthly or $245 billed annually | 375,000 credits: the Scale plan, $90 a month, unlimited seats |

Two gaps to weigh. Enrich.chat has no dialer, no sequencing and no Chrome extension. It also does not screen numbers against Do Not Call lists or record consent, so those checks stay with you. Anyone can ask to be removed at the [opt-out page](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/).

To price your own list first, paste the prompt below into your agent. It stops short of calling anyone.

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to find the mobile number for each person in my list, show each line type, and mark misses as not found. Then give me the total credits_used so I can compare it with 8 Apollo credits per number: [paste LinkedIn URLs, or names and company websites]
```

## Frequently asked questions

### How many credits does a phone number cost on Apollo?

A phone number costs 8 credits and an email costs 1, per [Apollo's About Credits page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing/about-credits). Mobile, direct and office extension numbers all cost the same. HQ and corporate numbers cost no credits, per [Apollo's phone number guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/31969477982221-Access-a-Prospect-s-Phone-Number). A waterfall lookup can use more: Apollo's [API pricing page](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/api-pricing) says 8 to 25 credits is typical for phone waterfall enrichment.

### Does Apollo give free phone numbers?

Only a few. The Free plan grants 75 credits a month, which is 9 phone numbers at 8 credits each, per [Apollo's pricing page](https://www.apollo.io/pricing). A 14-day trial of Basic or Professional adds 75 credits and caps phone access at 20 numbers, per [Apollo's trial guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/5288168088205-Access-a-Free-Trial-of-Apollo). HQ and corporate numbers use no credits. Everything else needs credits, and they expire at the end of each billing cycle.

### Does Apollo refund credits for wrong phone numbers?

Not in its published rules. The help center says Apollo [doesn't refund any credits for mobile numbers](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4738396786701-Request-Contact-Data-in-Apollo). It refunds an email credit only when an Apollo-verified email bounces within 30 days after you send it from Apollo. You can flag a wrong number on a saved contact, but [the flag guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/5973769310093-Flag-Inaccurate-Contact-or-Account-Data) says the flag is not shared and mentions no credit back.

### What is the difference between a mobile and a direct dial on Apollo?

Apollo labels personal numbers as mobile, work direct, home or other, per its [phone number guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/31969477982221-Access-a-Prospect-s-Phone-Number). All four cost 8 credits. A work direct number usually rings a desk line, and a mobile is the person's cell. A company's HQ number is a separate type that usually rings the switchboard, and it is free. Our guide to [direct dials](https://enrich.chat/blog/direct-dials/) explains how the types differ.

### Does Apollo charge for numbers on a Do Not Call list?

Yes. [Apollo's screening guide](https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/19207906524557-Enable-Do-Not-Call-DNC-Phone-Screening) says it charges credits for every phone number request, including numbers that appear on a DNC list. Admins can turn on screening for the US, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Apollo then shows Do Not Call beside listed numbers. Screening is an aid, not consent. Our [TCPA guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/tcpa-b2b-cold-calling/) covers US calling rules. This is not legal advice.

### Is there a cheaper way to get mobile numbers for an AI agent?

For data alone, a credit plan can cost less than a seat. Enrich.chat sells monthly credit plans: Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits. A mobile found uses 250 credits and a lookup that finds none uses 0. That is $0.0725 per mobile on Growth if you use every credit, against about $0.16 on Apollo's annual plans. You also get 10 free lookups a day, no signup. It has no dialer or Do Not Call screening. See [pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).
