# B2B lead generation strategies in 2026: 12 that work, what each needs and when to skip it

A decision guide to 12 strategies: the budget, team and data each one needs, the rule that applies, one number to track, and the contact-data step most guides skip.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 16, 2026.

**Short answer:** Twelve strategies work for B2B: outbound email, cold calling, LinkedIn by hand, content and SEO, events, partnerships, paid search, paid social, review sites, direct mail, communities and a free product tier. Pick two that fit your deal size and sales cycle, and track one number for each. For scale, [Hunter's 2026 report](https://hunter.io/the-state-of-cold-email) puts the average cold email reply rate at 4.5%, and [Belkins](https://belkins.io/blog/cold-calling-benchmarks) logged about 370 dials per cold-call meeting.

## Key takeaways

- The 12 strategies split by who makes the first move. Outbound email, cold calling, LinkedIn by hand and direct mail need a named person. The other eight rely on pages, ads, forms or other people's audiences.
- Sourced benchmarks: a 4.5% average cold email reply rate (Hunter, 31 million cold emails sent in 2025), about 370 dials per cold-call meeting (Belkins, 175,000+ dials in 2025) and 1.74% of new pages reaching Google's top 10 in a year (Ahrefs).
- The law differs by channel. CAN-SPAM has no B2B exception, the UK email rule exempts companies but not sole traders, the TCPA has no work-phone exception for autodialed or prerecorded calls to cell numbers, and LinkedIn bans scraping and bots.
- In 6sense's 2025 survey of nearly 4,000 buyers, the winning vendor was on the Day One shortlist 95% of the time, so pair outbound with channels that build recognition.
- The step most guides skip: turn account websites into named people and work emails with a status, hold back catch_all and unknown, and log the source and date before you send.

## What are the 12 B2B lead generation strategies, and who makes the first move in each?

Twelve strategies work for B2B companies, and they fall into three groups by who makes the first move (Figure 1). Only the first group, outbound email, cold calling, LinkedIn by hand and direct mail, needs a named person and a work email on day one.

**Figure 1: The 12 strategies, grouped by who makes the first move.** Three columns of four strategies each. In the first, you go first: outbound email, cold calling, LinkedIn by hand and direct mail, which need a named person and a work email. In the second, buyers come to you: content and SEO, paid search, paid social and a free product tier, which need a page, a form and a consent record. In the third, you borrow an audience: partnerships, webinars and events, communities and review sites, which need a warm introduction and a source note.

*Our grouping of the 12 strategies by who makes the first move. The contact-data step later on this page is built for the first column.*

Fit matters because buyers decide early. In [6sense's 2025 survey of nearly 4,000 buyers](https://6sense.com/report/buyer-experience/), the winning vendor was already on the buyer's Day One shortlist 95% of the time. Outbound reaches people who do not know you yet. The other channels help you get onto the shortlist.

The top guides for this topic list tactics. We read two on October 16, 2026. [Sopro's guide](https://sopro.io/resources/blog/the-ultimate-guide-to-b2b-lead-generation/) quotes figures such as "nearly half (45%)" of sales reps with no year or method. [Hunter's guide](https://hunter.io/blog/b2b-lead-generation-strategies/) is marked "Updated 18 August 2022" under a 2026 title. Neither gives the rule for each channel or a way to get a named buyer's work email. This page does, and it uses a benchmark only when the source states the figure, method and date.

## What does each strategy need in budget, team and time to a first result?

The cheapest strategies in cash often cost the most in time. The bands below are our judgement for a small team, not benchmarks. Sourced figures appear in the sections that follow.

| Strategy | Budget and team | First result | One number to track |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Outbound email | Low. A sending tool, a few mailboxes, one person | 2 to 4 weeks | Positive replies per 100 emails delivered |
| Cold calling | Low to medium. A dialer, one or two callers | 1 to 3 weeks | Dials per booked meeting |
| LinkedIn, by hand | Low. About 3 hours a week of one person | 4 to 8 weeks | Conversations started per 10 invitations accepted |
| Content and SEO | Medium. A writer with real expertise | 6 to 12 months | Demo requests or sign-ups from organic search each month |
| Webinars and events | Medium to high. Speakers, a platform or booth fees | 1 to 3 months | Meetings booked within 30 days of each event |
| Partnerships and referrals | Low cash. Steady founder or sales time | 2 to 6 months | Partner-sourced opportunities each quarter |
| Paid search | Medium. Ad spend, a landing page, tracking | Days to 4 weeks | Cost per qualified lead, not per click |
| Paid social | Medium to high. LinkedIn's minimum is $10 a day | 2 to 6 weeks | Cost per sales-qualified opportunity |
| Review sites | Low. Customer time to ask for reviews | 2 to 4 months | New reviews each quarter and demos from the profile |
| Direct mail | Medium. Postage, print and a gift or offer | 2 to 4 weeks | Meetings per 100 pieces mailed |
| Communities | Low cash. Steady time from someone with expertise | 1 to 3 months | Conversations started each week |
| Free product tier | High up front. Product work, little sales time | 1 to 3 months after launch | Free sign-ups that pay within 6 months |

## Which strategy fits your company stage, deal size and sales cycle?

Start from deal size and sales cycle. Small deals need cheap, fast channels. Large deals can carry hours of work per account. The dollar bands below are our suggestions, so move them to fit your market.

| Company and deal size | Sales cycle | Start with two of | Skip for now |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Founder-led, first customers. Deals under about $5,000 a year | Days to 4 weeks | Outbound email in small batches, communities, LinkedIn by hand, a free product tier | Direct mail, events, paid social |
| One to three sellers. $5,000 to $25,000 a year | 1 to 3 months | Outbound email with calls, LinkedIn, paid search on buying terms, content for the long run | Big events, direct mail |
| Sales and marketing teams. $25,000 to $100,000 a year | 3 to 6 months | Account-based outbound across email, calls and LinkedIn, partnerships, webinars, review sites | A free tier, unless it feeds sales |
| Enterprise. Over $100,000 a year | 6 months or more | Target-account lists, several contacts per account, direct mail, events, partners | Broad paid search, a free tier |

Three filters help:

- **No sales team.** Choose content and SEO, review sites, communities or a free tier, where buyers find you.
- **No list of target accounts.** Write your ideal customer profile first. The [ideal customer profile guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/ideal-customer-profile/) shows how.
- **Under 90 days of runway.** Pick outbound email or cold calling, or paid search if buyers already search for the problem. Skip SEO and the free tier.

## What rule applies to each strategy, and when should you skip it?

Each entry gives the data the strategy needs, the main rule we read on October 16, 2026, a sourced benchmark where one states its method and date, and when to skip it. This is general information, not legal advice. No data tool, Enrich.chat included, makes a campaign compliant.

### 1. Outbound email

- **Data:** a named person, a work email with a status, the company website and country, and a suppression list.
- **Rule:** The [FTC's CAN-SPAM guide](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business) says the law makes no exception for B2B email. You need honest headers, an ad notice, a postal address and an opt-out honored within 10 business days. The UK ICO says the [PECR email rule does not cover companies](https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/direct-marketing-and-privacy-and-electronic-communications/business-to-business-marketing/), but sole traders need consent or the soft opt-in. Under [GDPR Article 14](https://gdpr-info.eu/art-14-gdpr/), tell people where you got their details.
- **Benchmark:** [Hunter's 2026 report](https://hunter.io/the-state-of-cold-email) covers 31 million cold emails its users sent in 2025. The average reply rate was 4.5% and the average bounce rate 3.6%. [Google](https://support.google.com/a/answer/81126) asks senders to keep reported spam below 0.10%.
- **Skip it when:** you cannot say in one sentence why this person should care, or the list was bought. See [cold email data](https://enrich.chat/blog/cold-email/) and [buying email lists](https://enrich.chat/blog/buying-email-lists/).

### 2. Cold calling

- **Data:** a work phone or mobile with its line type, the person's time zone, and your Do Not Call and TPS checks.
- **Rule:** The FTC says [most calls between a telemarketer and a business are exempt](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/complying-telemarketing-sales-rule) from its Telemarketing Sales Rule. The [TCPA](https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/47/227) still bars autodialed, prerecorded or artificial-voice calls to cell numbers without prior express consent, at $500 per violation. Its text has no exception for work phones. In the UK, the ICO says to screen live B2B calls against [both the TPS and CTPS registers](https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/direct-marketing-and-privacy-and-electronic-communications/business-to-business-marketing/).
- **Benchmark:** [Belkins](https://belkins.io/blog/cold-calling-benchmarks) logged 175,000+ dials in 2025. 9.9% connected, and it took about 370 dials to book one meeting. Belkins says its calls usually follow email silence.
- **Skip it when:** your buyers answer only mobiles you have no consent to call, or nobody will make that many dials. See [TCPA and B2B cold calling](https://enrich.chat/blog/tcpa-b2b-cold-calling/).

### 3. LinkedIn, by hand

- **Data:** profiles and posts you read yourself. For an email later, use a name and company website.
- **Rule:** LinkedIn's [User Agreement](https://www.linkedin.com/legal/user-agreement), effective November 3, 2025, bans software, scripts, robots and browser add-ons that scrape the site, and bots that add contacts or send messages. Its [Professional Community Policies](https://www.linkedin.com/legal/professional-community-policies) say not to use invitations to send promotions to people you do not know. LinkedIn says members who use [prohibited tools](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1341387) risk restriction or shutdown.
- **Limits:** a free account can add a note to [three connection requests a month](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/46662). InMail credits are [5, 15 or 50 a month](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a541643) by plan, and a reply within 90 days returns the credit.
- **Skip it when:** you plan to automate it, or your buyers are not active there. See [LinkedIn lead generation](https://enrich.chat/blog/generating-leads-on-linkedin/).

### 4. Content and SEO

- **Data:** search demand for your buyers' questions, plus a form that records consent and source for each sign-up.
- **Rule:** Google's [spam policies](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/essentials/spam-policies), updated August 28, 2026, define scaled content abuse as many pages made mainly to manipulate rankings, including with generative AI and no added value. A form that collects an email needs a lawful basis under [GDPR Article 6](https://gdpr-info.eu/art-6-gdpr/), and the ICO says [marketing email to individuals needs specific consent](https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/direct-marketing-and-privacy-and-electronic-communications/guide-to-pecr/electronic-and-telephone-marketing/electronic-mail-marketing/) unless the soft opt-in applies.
- **Benchmark:** [Ahrefs](https://ahrefs.com/blog/how-long-does-it-take-to-rank-in-google-and-how-old-are-top-ranking-pages/) followed 1 million random URLs its crawler first saw in September 2023. Only 1.74% reached Google's top 10 within a year. A narrower sample of 2 million English pages with content gave 6.11%. Google says [some changes take several months](https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/seo-starter-guide) to show.
- **Skip it when:** you need pipeline within 90 days, or nobody can write from real experience.

### 5. Webinars and events

- **Data:** registrants who opted in, plus any attendee list an organizer gives you.
- **Rule:** The ICO says you can use a [bought-in list](https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/direct-marketing-and-privacy-and-electronic-communications/guide-to-pecr/electronic-and-telephone-marketing/using-marketing-lists/) for email only if everyone on it specifically consented to that type of message from you. Generic consent that covers any third party is not enough. Treat an organizer's attendee list the same way unless its terms say you may market to it.
- **Skip it when:** you cannot fill a room with target accounts, or the deal is too small to pay for the speaker time.

### 6. Partnerships and referrals

- **Data:** accounts you share with a partner, who introduces you, and where each contact came from.
- **Rule:** A contact a partner hands you did not come from the person, so [GDPR Article 14](https://gdpr-info.eu/art-14-gdpr/) applies: tell them the source within one month or at your first message. The FTC adds that [you cannot contract away responsibility](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business) when another company sends email for you.
- **Skip it when:** your product does not sit beside a partner's, or you have nothing to offer in return.

### 7. Paid search

- **Data:** buying-intent keywords, a landing page, conversion tracking and a customer exclusion list.
- **Rule:** Google's [EU user consent policy](https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/9028179) says advertisers who use remarketing tags need consent from users in the EEA and UK, and conversion tags need consent for cookies.
- **Benchmark:** [LocaliQ's June 2026 update](https://localiq.com/blog/search-advertising-benchmarks/), built from thousands of its customers' Google Ads and Microsoft Ads campaigns, lists Business Services at $5.87 a click, a 4.85% conversion rate and $93.69 a lead. As an illustration, if 1 lead in 10 becomes an opportunity and 1 in 5 of those closes (our assumptions), a customer costs about $4,700 in ads.
- **Skip it when:** buyers do not search for the problem yet, or the deal is too small to carry that cost.

### 8. Paid social

- **Data:** a target account list to use as an audience, the fields on your lead form and a privacy policy.
- **Rule:** LinkedIn says [member profile data collected through Lead Gen Forms](https://www.linkedin.com/help/lms/answer/a425750) can be stored for only one year. Ask for consent to the follow-up you plan.
- **Cost:** LinkedIn's [minimum daily budget](https://business.linkedin.com/advertise/ads/best-practices/maximize-your-budget) is $10 for any ad format, and a new campaign needs at least $100 in lifetime budget.
- **Skip it when:** you cannot follow up a lead within a day, or the deal is too small for the click costs.

### 9. Review sites and marketplaces

- **Data:** your customer list, so you can ask for reviews, and an accurate profile.
- **Rule:** The FTC's [Consumer Reviews and Testimonials rule](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/consumer-reviews-testimonials-rule-questions-answers) took effect October 21, 2024. It bars fake reviews and incentives that depend on a review's sentiment. The FTC's Q&A does not say whether B2B reviews are excluded, so follow it. [G2](https://legal.g2.com/community-guidelines) caps incentives at $100 and says eligibility is never based on the opinions in a review.
- **Benchmark:** in [G2's 2026 Buyer Behavior Report](https://sell.g2.com/2026-buyer-behavior-report), a June 2026 survey of 1,038 B2B decision-makers, review sites (38%) and AI chatbots (37%) were the top sources that influence shortlists.
- **Skip it when:** you have no customers to ask yet, or buyers in your category do not use a review site.

### 10. Direct mail

- **Data:** a business postal address and a named person. Enrich.chat returns a company's state and country, not a street address, so use the company website or a register. See [finding contact information](https://enrich.chat/blog/find-contact-information/).
- **Rule:** The ICO says [post is not covered by PECR](https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/direct-marketing-and-privacy-and-electronic-communications/direct-marketing-guidance/plan-direct-marketing/), but data protection law still applies. People have an absolute right to object, and you should check names against the Mailing Preference Service, which is not a statutory service. Check the rules where you mail.
- **Cost:** the [USPS price list effective October 4, 2026](https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/Notice123.htm) shows a one-ounce First-Class letter at $0.78 metered or $0.82 stamped, and a postcard at $0.65. Print and any gift come on top.
- **Skip it when:** you hold only a home address for the person, or the deal cannot carry a mailer, a gift and postage per account.

### 11. Communities

- **Data:** none to start. Your useful answers are the lead source, so do not copy member lists.
- **Rule:** every community sets its own rules. [Discord's guidelines](https://discord.com/guidelines), effective September 29, 2025, say not to send unsolicited bulk messages or use self-bots. If you copy members' names into a list, [GDPR Article 14](https://gdpr-info.eu/art-14-gdpr/) applies to that list.
- **Skip it when:** nobody on your team has experience worth sharing, or you need a lead count within 30 days.

### 12. Free product tier

- **Data:** sign-up records, product usage and, for work-email sign-ups, the person's title and company.
- **Rule:** The [FTC guide](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business) reads "transactional or relationship" email narrowly: content such as a purchase confirmation or an account change. An upgrade pitch is marketing. In the UK, the [soft opt-in](https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/direct-marketing-and-privacy-and-electronic-communications/guide-to-pecr/electronic-and-telephone-marketing/electronic-mail-marketing/) needs an existing customer who bought something similar, so a free user may not qualify. Ask for marketing consent at sign-up.
- **Benchmark:** [Kyle Poyar's study](https://www.growthunhinged.com/p/free-to-paid-conversion-report) with ChartMogul and ProductLed, run in January 2026 on 200 B2B software products, found a median free-to-paid rate of 8% within six months, yet 25% of freemium products converted under 2.5%.
- **Skip it when:** the product needs setup or data before it shows value, or a committee makes the buying decision.

We found no benchmark with a stated method and date that we could read for LinkedIn, events, partnerships, communities or direct mail response rates. For those, set a baseline in the first 30 days and judge each week against it.

## How do you turn a target account list into the right people and verified work emails?

Give an AI agent your account websites, have it find the right people by title, look up each work email and read the status. Send first to verified emails, hold back the rest and log the source before you send. Most strategy guides skip this step, and the four "you go first" strategies depend on it.

1. **Start from websites, not names.** Enrich.chat looks a person up by LinkedIn URL, by work email, or by name plus company website. A company name alone is not supported.
2. **Find the people by title.** The agent calls `/v1/company/people` with a website and a title, or `/v1/search` with a plain-English description. A search returns up to 25 people.
3. **Look up each work email.** One `/v1/person` call per person with `fields=email`, at about one request a second.
4. **Read the status.** It is `verified`, `catch_all` or `unknown`. A catch-all domain accepts every address, so the mailbox cannot be confirmed. Treat every contact as a strong lead, not a guarantee.
5. **Log the source, then send from your own tools.** Enrich.chat sends nothing.

**Figure 2: An agent run from 100 account websites to sorted work emails.** An agent starts with 100 company websites, calls the company people endpoint with a domain and title, calls the person endpoint with the email field for each person, then reads the email status and logs source, date, country and opt-out. Verified emails go out first, catch_all and unknown emails are held or checked by hand, and people not found use 0 credits. Sending, sequences, the CRM and the opt-out list stay in your own tools.

*An agent run for the contact-data step. The endpoints are from [enrich.chat/agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md). Account counts are an example.*

The people call returns each person's LinkedIn URL, which the person call uses only as a lookup key. A person call looks like this. The company and person are fictional.

```
GET /v1/person?linkedin_url=linkedin.com/in/jane-doe-ops&fields=email
{"found": true,
 "name": "Jane Doe",
 "title": "VP Operations",
 "company": {"name": "Acme Logistics"},
 "work_email": {"value": "jane.doe@acmelogistics.com", "status": "verified"},
 "credits_used": 10,
 "free_lookups_remaining": 9}
```

Paste this prompt into an AI agent that can make web requests, with your own websites in the brackets:

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to build a contact list from these company websites: [paste up to 25 websites here]. For each website, find up to 2 people with the title VP of Operations or Head of Operations. Then look up each person's work email, one request at a time, at about one request a second. Do not log in to LinkedIn. Return a table with company website, name, title, LinkedIn URL, work email, email status and today's date. Put verified emails in one table and catch_all and unknown in a second table, and list the people not found separately. Do not send any email. Tell me the total credits_used.
```

A run for 100 accounts with 3 people each is 300 people and 300 work emails. Each person returned costs 5 credits and each work email found costs 10, so the run uses 4,500 credits, which fits the Growth plan at $29 a month. The free tier (10 lookups a day, no signup) is enough to test a few accounts. A lookup that finds nothing uses 0 credits.

### What to log before the first send

Keep five fields next to every contact.

| Field | Why you keep it |
| --- | --- |
| Source and date | [GDPR Article 14](https://gdpr-info.eu/art-14-gdpr/) asks you to tell people where you got their details |
| Email status | Send verified first. Google asks senders to keep [reported spam below 0.10%](https://support.google.com/a/answer/81126) |
| Country | Decides which rule applies: CAN-SPAM, the UK's PECR and UK GDPR, or another country's law |
| Opt-out flag | CAN-SPAM gives you 10 business days. In the UK, the [right to object to direct marketing is absolute](https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/direct-marketing-and-privacy-and-electronic-communications/business-to-business-marketing/) |
| Lawful basis note | The ICO points to legitimate interests where PECR does not require consent, and says you must apply a three-part test |

Check each new row against your suppression list before you send. See [cold email data](https://enrich.chat/blog/cold-email/), [email bounce rates](https://enrich.chat/blog/email-bounce-rate/), [B2B data decay](https://enrich.chat/blog/b2b-data-decay/) and [how to find decision makers](https://enrich.chat/blog/decision-makers-in-a-company/).

## What does a 90-day starter plan look like?

Run two strategies for 90 days: one where you go first and one where buyers find you (Figure 3). Every number is our suggestion, not a benchmark.

**Figure 3: A suggested 90-day starter plan with two strategies.** A timeline over 90 days. Set up runs from day 1 to 14. Building the list and contacts runs from day 8 to 30. The first strategy runs from day 15 to 90. A second strategy starts at day 46. The decision to keep one, pause one and queue the next happens from day 76 to 90.

*A suggested 90-day plan for a small team. The days, the batch size and the review rhythm are our assumptions, not measurements.*

1. **Days 1 to 14: set up.** Pick two strategies from the decision matrix above. Write your [ideal customer profile](https://enrich.chat/blog/ideal-customer-profile/), name the one number to track for each, and create your opt-out list. For email, [Google requires](https://support.google.com/a/answer/81126) SPF or DKIM from all senders, and DMARC as well from senders of 5,000 or more messages a day to Gmail.
2. **Days 8 to 30: build the list.** Pick 100 target accounts and run the contact-data step for up to 3 people each.
3. **Days 15 to 90: run strategy one.** Start with 25 new people a week. Each Friday, read the one number and the bounce count. When bounces or complaints rise, pause and fix the list.
4. **Days 46 to 90: add strategy two.** Use the same Friday review.
5. **Days 76 to 90: decide.** Compare cost and time per qualified meeting. Keep one strategy, pause one and pick the next from the matrix.

## Where does Enrich.chat fit, and where does it stop?

Enrich.chat handles one step: it turns an account's website into named people and work emails with a status, from an AI agent or a plain API. It has no saved lists, no bulk export, no sending or sequencing, no CRM app, no Chrome extension and no intent data. Lookups run one at a time.

Your agent reads [enrich.chat/agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md), or you add the MCP server at enrich.chat/mcp. No key is needed to start, and you get 10 free lookups a day. Monthly plans start at $29 for 100,000 credits with unlimited seats. See [pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/), the [guide for AI agents](https://enrich.chat/agents/), the [people search API](https://enrich.chat/api/people-search/) and the [email finder API](https://enrich.chat/api/email-finder/). The free [AI lead list builder](https://enrich.chat/tools/lead-list-builder/) tries a search from one sentence.

For sending, see [the best lead generation tools](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-lead-generation-tools/). For buying signals, see [intent data](https://enrich.chat/blog/intent-data/). Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn. You stay responsible for CAN-SPAM, TCPA and GDPR compliance. Anyone can ask for removal on the [opt-out page](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/), processed within 15 days. See the [terms](https://enrich.chat/terms/).

## Frequently asked questions

### What are the most effective B2B lead generation strategies?

No single strategy wins for every company, so match the strategy to your deal size and sales cycle. Outbound email, cold calling and LinkedIn by hand suit small teams that can name their buyers. Content and SEO, paid search and a free product tier suit teams that can wait or sell without a rep. For scale, [Hunter's 2026 data](https://hunter.io/the-state-of-cold-email) puts the average cold email reply rate at 4.5%.

### How many lead generation strategies should a B2B company run at once?

Two for the first 90 days is our suggestion, not a benchmark. A channel needs weeks of steady effort before its number means anything, and one small team can only run so many well. Pick one where you start the conversation and one where buyers find you. Track one number for each, then keep one, pause one and add the next at day 90.

### Is B2B cold email legal?

In the US it is legal with rules. The [FTC says CAN-SPAM makes no exception for B2B email](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business): use honest headers, an ad notice, a postal address and an opt-out honored within 10 business days. In the UK, the [ICO says the PECR email rule does not cover companies](https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/direct-marketing-and-privacy-and-electronic-communications/business-to-business-marketing/), but sole traders need consent, and UK GDPR covers named people. This is not legal advice.

### How do I get work emails for my target accounts?

Start with each account's website, find the right people by title, then look up each person's work email and read its status. With Enrich.chat, an AI agent does this one lookup at a time, and a lookup that finds nothing uses 0 credits. Send first to verified emails, hold back catch_all and unknown ones, and log the source and date. The prompt in the contact-data section runs it.

### How long does B2B lead generation take to work?

Email, calls and paid search can bring first replies or leads within weeks. SEO is slower: [Ahrefs found that 1.74% of 1 million random new pages](https://ahrefs.com/blog/how-long-does-it-take-to-rank-in-google-and-how-old-are-top-ranking-pages/) reached Google's top 10 within a year. Free tiers also take months to judge: the ChartMogul and ProductLed study counted conversions within six months.

### Which B2B lead generation strategy is cheapest to start?

Cash cost is lowest for LinkedIn by hand, communities and partnerships, but they cost steady time. Paid channels have clear floors: [LinkedIn ads need at least $10 a day](https://business.linkedin.com/advertise/ads/best-practices/maximize-your-budget), and [USPS charges $0.65 for a postcard](https://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/Notice123.htm) before print and gift costs. Cheap in cash is not cheap in hours, so compare cost per qualified meeting.
