# The best MCP servers for sales and lead generation in 2026, compared on sign-in, cost and tools

We read the MCP docs, repos and pricing pages for nine servers on October 15, 2026. Here is what each one does, how you sign in, what it costs, and which one to connect first.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 15, 2026.

**Short answer:** The best MCP server for sales depends on the job. [Apollo's official server](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/apollo-mcp) searches, enriches and runs sequences on any plan, [ZoomInfo](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/tools) adds intent data, and HubSpot or Salesforce serve your CRM. For work emails and mobiles in any agent with no sign-in, Enrich.chat's server at enrich.chat/mcp gives 10 free lookups a day.

## Key takeaways

- Sales MCP servers sit in layers: data (Enrich.chat, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Lusha, FullEnrich), workflow (Clay) and CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce). Start with one data server and one CRM server.
- Seven of the nine servers sign you in with your own OAuth account. Enrich.chat needs no sign-in on the free tier, and LinkedIn community servers use your own LinkedIn session, which LinkedIn says risks restriction.
- Free starts checked October 15, 2026: Apollo 900 credits per seat a year, ZoomInfo 1,000 data and 1,000 AI credits once, Clay 500 credits, FullEnrich 50 trial credits, Enrich.chat 10 lookups a day.
- Tool counts run from 7 (Clay's Claude listing) to 50 (Lusha). Anthropic says tool descriptions take up context window space, so connect few servers and turn off tools you do not use.
- Enrich.chat's eight tools are read-only. HubSpot's server creates and updates records but deletes none, and Salesforce lets an admin choose read-only, create and update, delete or full servers.

## The verdict

Connect one data server and one CRM server. For work emails and mobiles in any agent with no account, **Enrich.chat** is the lightest start: a keyless server with 10 free lookups a day. If you already pay for Apollo, ZoomInfo, Lusha or Clay, use that vendor's own server and credits.

- Best for contact data in any agent: Enrich.chat (No sign-in or key on the free tier, read-only tools)
- Best for data plus sequences: Apollo (Official server on every plan, Free included)
- Best for intent and admin caps: ZoomInfo (26 tools and per-user credit limits)
- Best for shared team workflows: Clay (Ops-built Functions that reps run by name)
- Best CRM server: HubSpot (Create and update with confirmation, no delete)

## The 9 sales MCP servers, grouped by job

Enrich.chat is first because this site publishes it. The rest run from data servers to workflow, CRM and the LinkedIn option, and the order is not a quality ranking. Facts come from each vendor's own pages, checked October 15, 2026.

### Enrich.chat

Contact and company data for any agent. A keyless MCP server with eight read-only tools returns work emails, mobiles and company profiles, each with a status.

- Best for: Agents and apps that need work emails and mobiles without a vendor account
- Pricing: Plans from $29 a month for 100,000 credits: 10 credits per email, 250 per mobile, 5 per profile
- Strength: No sign-in and no key on the free tier: paste `https://enrich.chat/mcp` into your client
- Strength: Credits are spent only on matches: a lookup that finds nothing uses 0 credits
- Strength: Every work email returns verified, catch_all or unknown, and every mobile returns a line type
- Strength: Unlimited seats, billed monthly, no annual contract
- Watch out for: Read-only data: no CRM write-back, sequencing, dialer or intent data
- Watch out for: You add it by pasting a URL, and ChatGPT needs a workspace that allows custom MCP servers. No Chrome extension, and SDKs are still planned

### Apollo

The official Apollo.io server: people and company search, enrichment, contacts, sequences, one-off email, tasks and analytics under your Apollo account.

- Best for: Teams that want data and outreach tools in one server and already use Apollo
- Pricing: Free plan. Basic is $49 per seat a month, billed annually, with 30,000 credits per seat a year ([Apollo pricing](https://www.apollo.io/pricing), Oct 15, 2026). MCP adds no fee
- Strength: Official hosted server at `mcp.apollo.io/mcp`, with OAuth or a master API key for headless jobs ([Apollo MCP docs](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/apollo-mcp))
- Strength: Creates sequences and sends one-off emails, but leaves out bulk delete
- Strength: Built-in connectors in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Replit and Cursor
- Watch out for: A master API key acts as the workspace's longest-standing active admin, so guard it
- Watch out for: Apollo asks you to turn off model training in your AI account, and free accounts on a personal email cannot search or enrich

### ZoomInfo

ZoomInfo's hosted server with 26 tools for company and contact search, enrichment, intent, scoops and research agents, under each user's own login.

- Best for: Teams already on ZoomInfo, or agents that need intent signals
- Pricing: Free GTM AI account, then top-ups from $20. Enterprise packages are quoted ([GTM AI pricing](https://gtm.ai/pricing), Oct 15, 2026). ZoomInfo's example prices 500 enriched leads at $215
- Strength: 14 of the 26 tools are free, including search, lookup and find similar ([tools reference](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/tools))
- Strength: Admins can cap data and AI credits for each user ([credits page](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/credits))
- Strength: Intent and scoops tools bring buying signals into the chat
- Watch out for: Enrichment draws only on pooled credits, not recurring monthly ones, and each call enriches up to 10 records
- Watch out for: Cursor needs the mcp-remote bridge, and there is no cost preview before a call

### Lusha

Lusha's hosted server with 50 tools: contact and company enrichment, prospecting, signals, lookalikes, buying groups, workspace tables and CRM export.

- Best for: Teams that want signals, buying groups and CRM export in the same server
- Pricing: Free plan. Pro, the first plan listed with API access, is $69.90 a month on monthly billing, or $52.45 billed yearly ([Lusha pricing](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/), Oct 15, 2026)
- Strength: OAuth in Claude, ChatGPT and Codex, and an `x-api-key` header in VS Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI and n8n ([setup](https://docs.lusha.com/mcp/setup))
- Strength: Exports contacts to Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive or SalesLoft once an admin connects the CRM
- Strength: Lists signals, lookalike and buying-group tools in the same server
- Watch out for: Fifty tools is the widest surface here, so switch off what you do not use
- Watch out for: The docs differ on misses: the REST API takes at least 1 credit per request, while the MCP FAQ says credits are generally charged for matched results. Recommendation tools work only over OAuth

### Clay

Clay's hosted server: people and company search, enrichment through its data providers, and ops-built Functions that reps run from Claude or ChatGPT.

- Best for: Teams that already build in Clay and want reps to reuse that work from chat
- Pricing: Free plan. Launch is from $167 a month and Growth from $446, both billed annually ([Clay pricing](https://www.clay.com/pricing), Oct 15, 2026). Clay adds no MCP surcharge
- Strength: Per-rep credit limits and an MCP-only Sales Rep role ([MCP in Clay](https://university.clay.com/docs/mcp-settings))
- Strength: A Function built once runs the same way for every rep
- Strength: Works in Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Copilot and Glean
- Watch out for: Built for about 1 to 20 contacts at a time: chat results come in groups of 20, up to 100 ([Clay's guide](https://www.clay.com/guides/clay-mcp))
- Watch out for: Every rep must be invited to the workspace, and the docs list no credit cost for each tool

### FullEnrich

FullEnrich's hosted server for people and company search, work email and mobile enrichment, and CSV or JSON export, from a waterfall of data sources.

- Best for: Teams that mainly need work emails and mobiles on plain credit pricing
- Pricing: Pro is $55 a month for 1,000 credits, or $49 a month billed yearly for 12,000 credits a year ([FullEnrich pricing](https://fullenrich.com/pricing), Oct 15, 2026)
- Strength: MCP is listed on the plans, with unlimited users
- Strength: Browser OAuth sign-in, and a URL to paste into Claude, ChatGPT, Manus or an IDE ([help center](https://help.fullenrich.com/en/articles/14190120-mcp-server))
- Strength: No CRM write tools, per its own list
- Watch out for: Needs a FullEnrich account, and its help article gives no tool count or limits
- Watch out for: The 50 trial credits cover 50 work emails or 5 mobiles, so a real test needs a paid month

### HubSpot

HubSpot's official remote server at mcp.hubspot.com: search, create and update CRM records and activities under your own HubSpot permissions.

- Best for: Teams whose contacts, deals and tickets already live in HubSpot
- Pricing: No separate fee: HubSpot says the server is open to all accounts ([GA changelog](https://developers.hubspot.com/changelog/remote-hubspot-mcp-server-is-now-generally-available), April 13, 2026). Claude's connector needs a paid Claude plan
- Strength: Creates and updates contacts, companies, deals, tickets, leads and activities. No tool deletes records
- Strength: Writes ask for your confirmation first, and every call follows your HubSpot permissions
- Strength: Generally available since April 13, 2026
- Watch out for: Non-admins need a Super Admin to approve the connector, and the connector updates at most 10 records at a time
- Watch out for: No contact data of its own, so pair it with a data server for missing emails and mobiles

### Salesforce

Salesforce Hosted MCP Servers: admin-enabled servers that let an AI client read or write org records, run Flows and Apex actions and query Data 360.

- Best for: Salesforce orgs with an admin who can set up an External Client App
- Pricing: Salesforce says the servers are intended for customers with Flex Credits and you may be billed for usage ([overview](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/hosted-mcp-servers/guide/hosted-mcp-servers-overview.html), Oct 15, 2026). Rates are not stated
- Strength: Four SObject servers ([reference](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/hosted-mcp-servers/references/reference/servers-reference.html)): reads, create and update, delete, or all, so an admin picks the least access that works
- Strength: Field-level security, object permissions and sharing rules apply to every tool call
- Strength: Salesforce lists Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Postman as tested clients
- Watch out for: Needs an External Client App. Connected Apps are not supported, and the app can take up to 30 minutes to become available ([setup](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/hosted-mcp-servers/guide/create-external-client-app.html))
- Watch out for: Standard servers are off until an admin enables them, and the pages we read give no Flex Credits rates

### LinkedIn community servers

Open-source servers such as stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server that read LinkedIn profiles, companies, jobs and messages through your own logged-in browser session.

- Best for: People who accept account risk to read their LinkedIn inbox and jobs from an agent
- Pricing: Free, with an Apache-2.0 license ([GitHub README](https://github.com/stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server), Oct 15, 2026)
- Strength: 20 tools, including profile, company and job search, inbox and posts
- Strength: Runs on your computer, and the code is public to read
- Watch out for: Its README says LinkedIn's User Agreement prohibits automated access and that accounts can be restricted or banned. It is not affiliated with LinkedIn
- Watch out for: Tools such as `send_message` and `connect_with_person` act as you

## What is a sales MCP server, and what does it do?

A sales MCP server lets an AI assistant call a sales tool directly. You ask Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor for ten VPs of Sales at logistics firms, and the assistant calls the server's tools to search, enrich or update records. The [MCP specification](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/2025-06-18/server/tools) says tools are model-controlled, so the model can find and call them on its own. That is why the approval settings in this guide matter.

Sales servers fall into four layers, shown in Figure 1. Data servers find people, work emails and mobiles. Workflow servers chain several data sources. CRM servers hold your records. Sending servers run sequences. This page compares the first three layers, because they decide where your contacts come from, plus one risky LinkedIn option.

**Figure 1: The four layers of a sales MCP stack.** A four-row table of sales MCP layers. Data servers find people, emails, mobiles and companies: Enrich.chat, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Lusha and FullEnrich. Workflow servers chain several data sources and saved team playbooks: Clay. CRM servers hold your records and update them when you approve: HubSpot and Salesforce. Sending servers run sequences and send mail: Apollo has sequence tools, and other sequencers are not ranked on this page. A note says to start with one data server and one CRM server.

*The four layers of a sales MCP stack and where each server on this page sits. Editorial diagram based on the vendor pages listed in Sources.*

Most roundups of sales MCP servers come from vendors. [Amplemarket's list](https://www.amplemarket.com/blog/best-mcp-servers-for-sales) ranks Amplemarket first, [Smartlead's](https://www.smartlead.ai/blog/best-mcp-servers-for-sales) ranks Smartlead first, and [FullEnrich's](https://fullenrich.com/tools/best-mcp-server-for-sales) ranks FullEnrich first. Enrich.chat publishes this page and is one of the nine servers below, so every fact links to a vendor's own docs. "Not stated" means the pages we read do not say. Those roundups also cover sequencers such as Smartlead and Instantly, which this page does not rank.

## Which sales MCP server should you connect first?

Start with one data server and one CRM server. Figure 2 begins with what you already pay for, because a vendor you already use adds no MCP fee. [Apollo](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/apollo-mcp) says its MCP has no additional cost, [ZoomInfo](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/credits) charges nothing to connect, and [Clay](https://university.clay.com/docs/mcp-settings) says there is no MCP surcharge. Lusha's MCP draws on the [same credit pool](https://docs.lusha.com/faq/mcp.md) as its API.

**Figure 2: Which sales MCP server to connect first.** A four-step check. If you already pay for Apollo, ZoomInfo, Lusha or Clay, use that vendor's server and your existing credits. If you need intent signals or buying groups, ZoomInfo and Lusha both list signals tools. If ops staff build workflows that reps reuse, use Clay Functions with MCP for reps. If you want contact data with no account to start, use Enrich.chat, which has free lookups and no sign-in. Otherwise start with a data server that has a free start on an account, such as Apollo's Free plan or a FullEnrich trial. Then add the CRM server you already run, HubSpot or Salesforce.

*A way to choose the first server. The no-fee statements come from [Apollo](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/apollo-mcp), [ZoomInfo](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/credits) and [Clay](https://university.clay.com/docs/mcp-settings), and the signals tools from [ZoomInfo's tools reference](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/tools) and [Lusha's tools page](https://docs.lusha.com/mcp/tools). The order is our advice, not a ranking.*

If two data servers both fit, run the same ten accounts through each and compare dollars per contact found, not credits. A credit means something different on every server. Our guide to [B2B data providers](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-b2b-data-providers/) explains how to run a blind test, and our list of [sales intelligence tools](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-sales-intelligence-tools/) covers the platforms behind several of these servers.

## How does each sales MCP server connect and sign you in?

Seven of the nine servers sign you in with your own account over OAuth. Enrich.chat needs no sign-in on the free tier, and the LinkedIn community servers use your own LinkedIn session. The [MCP specification](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/2025-06-18/basic/authorization) calls authorization optional, so a keyless server is allowed. A shared key is the weak spot: [Apollo's master key](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/apollo-mcp) acts as the workspace's longest-standing active admin.

| Server and address | Sign-in | How you add it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Enrich.chat `enrich.chat/mcp` | No sign-in or key on the free tier. A paid plan adds a key for more volume | Claude: custom connector with the URL. Cursor and VS Code: one-click links ([install page](https://enrich.chat/install/)) |
| Apollo `mcp.apollo.io/mcp` | OAuth 2.0, or a master API key for headless jobs | Built-in connectors in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Replit and Cursor ([docs](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/apollo-mcp)) |
| ZoomInfo `mcp.zoominfo.com/mcp` | OAuth with your own ZoomInfo login | Claude and ChatGPT directories. Cursor through the `mcp-remote` bridge ([quickstart](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/getting-started)) |
| Lusha `mcp.lusha.com` | OAuth in Claude, ChatGPT and Codex. An `x-api-key` header in VS Code, Cursor and n8n | Claude and ChatGPT directories, or a JSON entry ([setup](https://docs.lusha.com/mcp/setup)) |
| Clay `api.clay.com/v3/mcp` | OAuth with a Clay login | Claude connector, or `@Clay` in [ChatGPT](https://university.clay.com/docs/using-clay-in-chatgpt). Cursor and VS Code show "Unverified application" ([FAQ](https://university.clay.com/docs/mcp-troubleshooting-and-faqs)) |
| FullEnrich `mcp.fullenrich.com/mcp` | OAuth in the browser | Paste the URL as a connector, or add it under `mcpServers` in an IDE ([help center](https://help.fullenrich.com/en/articles/14190120-mcp-server)) |
| HubSpot `mcp.hubspot.com` | OAuth 2.1 with PKCE | Connectors for [Claude](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/set-up-and-use-the-hubspot-connector-for-claude) and [ChatGPT](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/connect-your-hubspot-account-to-chatgpt). Other clients use credentials you create in HubSpot ([guide](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/apps/developer-platform/build-apps/integrate-with-the-remote-hubspot-mcp-server)) |
| Salesforce One server per access level | OAuth with PKCE through an External Client App that an admin creates | Tested with Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Postman ([client guide](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/platform/hosted-mcp-servers/guide/client-connection-overview.html)) |
| LinkedIn community Runs on your computer | Your LinkedIn browser session | A `uvx` entry in the client's `mcpServers` config ([README](https://github.com/stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server)) |

Two notes on clients. In ChatGPT, [OpenAI's help center](https://help.openai.com/en/articles/12584461-developer-mode-apps-and-full-mcp-connectors-in-chatgpt-beta) lists custom MCP server connections for Business and Enterprise/Edu workspaces on the web, and workspace admins control who can add one. A directory app such as ZoomInfo's needs no custom server, and ZoomInfo's quickstart says no particular AI subscription tier is required. In Claude, [Anthropic's help article](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-getting-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp) lets Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans add a custom connector, and it offers a "No sign in" choice for servers that need none.

## What does it cost to start with each sales MCP server?

Most servers have a free way in, and the free amounts are small. Salesforce lists none. This table shows each free start, the first paid step and the unit cost of contact data, from vendor pages checked October 15, 2026.

| Server | Free start | First paid step | Cost of contact data |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Enrich.chat | 10 lookups a day, no signup | Growth: $29 a month for 100,000 credits | 10 credits per email, 250 per mobile, 0 on a miss |
| Apollo | Free plan: 900 credits per seat a year | Basic: $49 per seat a month, billed annually ([pricing](https://www.apollo.io/pricing)) | 1 credit per email, 8 more per mobile ([API pricing](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/api-pricing)) |
| ZoomInfo | 1,000 data and 1,000 AI credits, once | Top-ups from $20. Enterprise is quoted ([GTM AI pricing](https://gtm.ai/pricing)) | 1 data credit per new record. Mobile data is on Enterprise packages |
| Lusha | Free plan: 40 credits a month | Pro: $69.90 a month on monthly billing, with 600 credits ([pricing](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/)) | 1 credit per email, 5 per phone on the REST API ([credit guide](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/usage-analytics/how-credits-are-counted)) |
| Clay | 500 credits for a new connection ([Clay](https://university.clay.com/docs/using-clay-in-claude)) | Launch: from $167 a month, billed annually ([pricing](https://www.clay.com/pricing)) | Same credits as the Clay app. Clay's example Function for email and phone costs 12 |
| FullEnrich | 50 trial credits, no card | Pro: $55 a month for 1,000 credits ([pricing](https://fullenrich.com/pricing)) | 1 credit per work email, 10 per mobile |
| HubSpot | Any HubSpot account, no MCP fee | Your HubSpot plan | Not priced per record |
| Salesforce | None listed | Flex Credits, rates not stated | Not stated |
| LinkedIn community | Free and open source | None | Not applicable |

The units differ, so price one job. For 100 people with a work email and a mobile, Apollo's rates use 900 credits, Lusha's REST rates use 600, and FullEnrich's use 1,100. Enrich.chat uses 26,000, which fits the Growth plan at $29 a month. These are our arithmetic from published rates, and a credit costs a different amount on every vendor. ZoomInfo's own example prices 500 enriched leads at $215 on GTM AI.

A miss can cost something. Apollo says it charges only when it finds credit-consuming data, and Enrich.chat uses 0 credits on a miss. Lusha's credit guide says a REST API request costs at least 1 credit even with no result. Its MCP FAQ says MCP uses the same deduction but also that credits are generally charged for matched results. The docs do not settle it, so ask Lusha before a large job. Our guides to [Apollo](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-pricing/), [Lusha](https://enrich.chat/blog/lusha-pricing/), [Clay](https://enrich.chat/blog/clay-pricing/), [ZoomInfo](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-pricing/) and [FullEnrich](https://enrich.chat/blog/fullenrich-pricing/) pricing go deeper.

## How many tools does each sales MCP server expose, and does it matter?

Tool counts run from 7 to 50 in Figure 3, and the count is a trade-off, not a score. A wide server does more jobs. A narrow one leaves more room in the model's context. [Anthropic's engineers](https://www.anthropic.com/engineering/code-execution-with-mcp) write that tool descriptions take up context window space, which raises response time and cost.

**Figure 3: Tools each sales MCP server lists.** A bar chart of tools listed per server on October 15, 2026. Lusha lists 50 tools. The HubSpot connector in Claude lists 36. ZoomInfo lists 26, three of which it marks as replaced. The most popular LinkedIn community server lists 20. Enrich.chat lists 8 read-only tools. The Clay connector in Claude lists 7. Apollo and FullEnrich publish no tool count on the pages we read, and Salesforce's depends on which standard servers an admin turns on.

*Tools listed per server on October 15, 2026, from [Lusha's tools page](https://docs.lusha.com/mcp/tools), [Anthropic's HubSpot listing](https://claude.com/marketplace/connectors/hubspot), [ZoomInfo's tools reference](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/tools), the [stickerdaniel README](https://github.com/stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server), [Anthropic's Clay listing](https://claude.com/marketplace/connectors/clay) and the Enrich.chat server's own tool list. Vendors add tools often, and counts from a Claude listing may differ from the vendor's own server.*

Lusha's 50 tools include 13 table tools and call-recording search that a contact lookup never touches. ZoomInfo's 26 include three it marks as replaced. Apollo, FullEnrich and Salesforce publish no single count on the pages we read, and Salesforce's depends on which standard servers an admin turns on. Switch off the tools your job does not need.

## Which sales MCP servers can change your CRM or send email?

Some servers only read. Others create contacts, enroll people in sequences or send mail. Check what each one can change before you switch it on.

| Server | What it can change | Control to use |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Enrich.chat | Nothing: all eight tools are read-only lookups | None needed |
| Apollo | Creates and updates contacts and accounts, builds sequences, adds people to them and sends one-off emails. No bulk delete | Apollo recommends Approval required for actions that use credits |
| ZoomInfo | Saves audiences and updates GTM context inside ZoomInfo, per its [tools reference](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/tools) | Admins can cap credits per user |
| Lusha | Manages workspace tables and pushes contacts to a connected CRM | Only an admin can connect the CRM ([FAQ](https://docs.lusha.com/faq/mcp.md)) |
| Clay | Reads by default. A Function you enable can write, for example to a Sequencer | "MCP for reps" is a switch on each Function ([docs](https://university.clay.com/docs/mcp-settings)) |
| FullEnrich | No CRM write tools, per [FullEnrich's own list](https://fullenrich.com/tools/best-mcp-server-for-sales). It can export CSV or JSON | Exports cost 0.25 credit each |
| HubSpot | Creates and updates records and activities. No tool deletes records | Writes ask for confirmation. Set write tools to Needs approval |
| Salesforce | Depends on the server: reads only, create and update, delete, or all | An admin picks the least access that works |
| LinkedIn community | Sends messages and connection requests as you | Keep those tools blocked, or skip the server |

Human approval is part of the standard. The MCP specification says there should always be a human in the loop who can deny tool calls, and that clients should confirm sensitive operations. [Anthropic warns](https://support.claude.com/en/articles/11175166-getting-started-with-custom-connectors-using-remote-mcp) that a malicious server can hide instructions that make Claude act in ways you did not intend, and says to pick "Allow always" only for servers and tools you trust. It adds that during Research, Claude can call connector tools without asking, so you should disable tools that make write changes.

The LinkedIn community servers sit at the risky end. They run through your own logged-in LinkedIn session, and [LinkedIn's help center](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1341387) says members who use tools that scrape or automate its site risk having their accounts restricted or shut down. Contact info on a profile is [visible only to 1st-degree connections](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a545600/what-people-can-see-on-your-profile), so these servers return little contact data for people you are not connected to. Our [LinkedIn MCP guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/linkedin-mcp/) covers the options and the court cases.

## What should you check before you connect a sales MCP server?

Check who signs in, what the server spends, what it can write and what a miss costs. Six checks cover most of the risk.

1. **Who signs in.** Prefer one OAuth login per person. [ZoomInfo says](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/getting-started) a shared login removes each person's accounts and CRM context, and a shared master key acts as an admin.
2. **What it spends.** Set a cap before reps connect. ZoomInfo admins can limit credits per user, and Clay admins set a [monthly credit limit per rep](https://university.clay.com/docs/mcp-settings). Apollo recommends approval for credit actions.
3. **What it can write.** Start read-only. Set write tools to need approval, as [HubSpot advises](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/set-up-and-use-the-hubspot-connector-for-claude), and keep batches small. HubSpot's Claude connector updates at most 10 records at a time.
4. **What a miss costs.** Ask each vendor in writing. Apollo charges only when it finds data, Enrich.chat uses 0 credits on a miss, and Lusha's REST API takes at least 1 credit per request.
5. **How many tools it loads.** Every tool description takes up context, so keep the list short and turn off what you do not use.
6. **Whether it works on your accounts.** Run ten accounts you know through the server and check every field. Treat a catch_all or unknown email as a risk, not a fact.

Compliance stays with you. You are responsible for TCPA, CAN-SPAM and GDPR in your own outreach, whichever server finds the contact. Anyone can opt out of Enrich.chat at [enrich.chat/opt-out/](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/). Our guide to [Claude for sales](https://enrich.chat/blog/claude-for-sales/) has safe prompts for a first session.

## When is another sales MCP server a better choice than Enrich.chat?

Another server is better when you need what Enrich.chat does not do. It has no CRM write-back, sequencing, dialer or intent data, no Chrome extension, and its SDKs are planned. It returns contact and company data to an agent you control.

- **Choose Apollo** if you want search, enrichment, sequences and analytics in one server and already pay for seats. Our [Apollo MCP guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-mcp-alternative/) has the credit costs.
- **Choose ZoomInfo** if you need intent, scoops or research agents, or already hold bulk credits. See [ZoomInfo MCP](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-mcp/).
- **Choose Lusha** if signals, buying groups and CRM export matter, and you will switch off the tools you do not use.
- **Choose Clay** if your ops team builds workflows that reps reuse. See [Clay MCP](https://enrich.chat/blog/clay-mcp/).
- **Choose FullEnrich** if you want a waterfall across many sources behind one request. Our guide to [waterfall enrichment](https://enrich.chat/blog/waterfall-enrichment/) explains when that pays off.
- **Choose HubSpot or Salesforce** for the records themselves. Enrich.chat cannot write to either. The [HubSpot MCP guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/hubspot-mcp/) shows a loop where Claude finds contacts with gaps, Enrich.chat fills them and HubSpot saves what you approve.

Skip the LinkedIn community servers for contact data. Send the profile URL to an API instead, which uses it only as a lookup key. Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn or uses anyone's LinkedIn account.

## How do you add the Enrich.chat MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor?

Add the URL `https://enrich.chat/mcp` to your client. It uses Streamable HTTP with no sign-in and no key on the free tier, and you get 10 free lookups a day. The [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/) has the steps for each app.

- **Claude Code:** run the command below.
- **Claude on the web or desktop:** add a custom connector under Connectors and paste the URL.
- **Cursor and VS Code:** use the one-click links on the install page.
- **ChatGPT:** add a custom MCP server with no authentication, if your workspace allows it. If not, paste a prompt that starts with "Use www.enrich.chat". The agent reads [enrich.chat/agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md) and calls the plain API.

```
claude mcp add --transport http enrich https://enrich.chat/mcp
```

The eight tools are `company_people`, `find_person_contact`, `find_work_email`, `find_mobile_number`, `search_people`, `company_tech_stack`, `company_profile` and `check_free_quota`. All are read-only. Ask the agent to call `check_free_quota` first, so a large job stops before the daily limit. Then run a test on ten accounts you know:

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to find the VP of Sales at each of these 10 company domains with a work email and mobile. Show the email status and mobile line type, mark misses as not found, and tell me the total credits_used: [paste 10 company domains]
```

Every work email comes back as verified, catch_all or unknown. Every mobile comes back with a line type, mobile or unknown, which says what kind of number it is, not that it works or belongs to the person. Treat each contact as a strong lead, not a guarantee. Each response includes `credits_used`. A work email uses 10 credits, a mobile 250 and a miss 0.

When the free lookups run out, the API returns HTTP 402 with an upgrade link, and the agent stops. For more volume, log in at [enrich.chat/account/](https://enrich.chat/account/) with your email, pick a plan and pay at checkout. Your key appears on that page. Plans are Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits, with unlimited seats and no annual contract. To pair it with a CRM server, ask the agent to check your records first:

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to find up to 10 heads of sales at US logistics companies with 50 to 200 employees. Then use my HubSpot connector to check which of them are already contacts. Show a table with the HubSpot match, work email and email status. Do not write to HubSpot until I approve.
```

To try a lookup in your browser first, use the free [email finder](https://enrich.chat/tools/email-finder/) or the [lead list builder](https://enrich.chat/tools/lead-list-builder/). Our page on the [contact data API for AI agents](https://enrich.chat/agents/) shows the setup for other clients, and our guide to [AI sales agents](https://enrich.chat/blog/ai-sales-agents/) covers what to build on top. See [pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) for every plan.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best MCP server for sales?

There is no single best. [Apollo's official server](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/apollo-mcp) covers search, enrichment and sequences, ZoomInfo adds intent data, and HubSpot or Salesforce serve your CRM. Clay suits teams whose ops staff build shared workflows. For work emails and mobiles in any agent without an account, Enrich.chat's server needs no sign-in on the free tier. Start with one data server and one CRM server, and test it on accounts you know.

### Which sales MCP servers are free?

Several have a free start, checked October 15, 2026. Enrich.chat gives 10 lookups a day with no signup. [Apollo's Free plan](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) has 900 credits per seat a year, [ZoomInfo's GTM AI](https://gtm.ai/pricing) gives 1,000 data and 1,000 AI credits once, Clay gives 500 credits to a new connection, and FullEnrich gives 50 trial credits. HubSpot charges nothing extra for its server. Every one except Enrich.chat needs an account first.

### Which sales MCP servers need no sign-in?

Enrich.chat's server at enrich.chat/mcp needs no sign-in or key on the free tier. The [MCP specification](https://modelcontextprotocol.io/specification/2025-06-18/basic/authorization) calls authorization optional, so servers may skip it. Apollo, ZoomInfo, Lusha, Clay, FullEnrich, HubSpot and Salesforce all sign you in with your own account. LinkedIn community servers use your LinkedIn browser session instead. More volume on Enrich.chat uses a [monthly plan](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) and a key from the account page.

### Can a sales MCP server write to my CRM?

Some can. [HubSpot's server](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/apps/developer-platform/build-apps/integrate-with-the-remote-hubspot-mcp-server) creates and updates contacts, companies, deals and tickets, but no tool deletes records, and writes ask you to confirm. Salesforce lets an admin enable read-only, create and update, delete or full servers. Enrich.chat's eight tools only read. In every client, set write tools to need approval, as [HubSpot's Claude guide](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/integrations/set-up-and-use-the-hubspot-connector-for-claude) advises.

### How many MCP servers should a sales team connect?

Start with one data server and one CRM server. Each connected server adds tool descriptions to the model's context, which [Anthropic says](https://www.anthropic.com/engineering/code-execution-with-mcp) raises response time and cost. Lusha lists 50 tools and Anthropic's Clay listing shows 7, so the weight varies. Add a third server only when a task needs it, and switch off tools you do not use.

### Is a LinkedIn MCP server safe for sales?

It is risky for your LinkedIn account. The most popular community server, [stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server](https://github.com/stickerdaniel/linkedin-mcp-server), works through your own logged-in browser session, and its README says accounts using automated tools can be restricted or banned. [LinkedIn's help center](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1341387) says the same of such tools. For contact data, use an API that takes the profile URL only as a lookup key. Our [LinkedIn MCP guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/linkedin-mcp/) has the details.
