# BuiltWith pricing in 2026: every plan, API credits, contract terms and the real cost per lookup

We read BuiltWith's plans page in both billing views, plus its help pages, API docs and terms, on October 16, 2026. Here is what each plan includes, what an API lookup costs and which costs the plans page leaves out.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 16, 2026.

**Short answer:** BuiltWith costs $295 a month for Basic, $495 for Pro and $995 for Team, or $2,950, $4,950 and $9,950 a year, per its [plans page](https://builtwith.com/plans) checked October 16, 2026. Single-site lookups are free. API lookups cost $0.0495 each in [credit packs](https://builtwith.com/all-products) (2,000 for $99), and the plans include 2,000, 20,000 or 100,000 API credits a month.

## Key takeaways

- BuiltWith's plans page lists Basic at $295, Pro at $495 and Team at $995 a month. Yearly billing is ten times the monthly price: $2,950, $4,950 and $9,950 (checked October 16, 2026).
- API credits cost $99 for 2,000, or $0.0495 a lookup. Plans include 2,000, 20,000 and 100,000 API credits a month, so Pro works out to $0.02475 a lookup and Team to $0.00995 if you use every credit.
- Basic is poor value for the API alone: its 2,000 credits are worth $99 at list price, and Basic costs $295. Pro beats the list rate above about 10,000 lookups a month.
- The minimum term is one month on monthly plans and one year on yearly plans. BuiltWith offers no trial of paid plans, and its terms give no refund for a change of mind.
- Enrich.chat's tech lookup uses 5 credits when a stack is found, which is $0.00145 on the Growth plan at full use. It returns names and categories for one domain at a time.

## Plans and prices

Prices as listed by BuiltWith on October 16, 2026. [Source](https://builtwith.com/plans). US dollars. Single-site lookups are free. Advanced, which gives detail on single sites only, is $144 a year. The yearly view of Basic lists 24 technologies.

| Plan | Price | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Basic | $295 /mo | $2,950 billed yearly |
| Pro | $495 /mo | $4,950 billed yearly |
| Team | $995 /mo | $9,950 billed yearly |
| API credits | $99 /pack | 2,000 credits, $0.0495 each |

## How much does BuiltWith cost in 2026?

BuiltWith charges $295 a month for Basic, $495 for Pro and $995 for Team, and individual site lookups are free. We read [BuiltWith's plans page](https://builtwith.com/plans) on October 16, 2026, in the monthly view and the yearly view. The yearly view shows $2,950, $4,950 and $9,950, so a year costs ten times the monthly price and saves two months.

| Plan | Monthly view | Yearly view | Yearly saves |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Basic | $295 | $2,950 | $590 |
| Pro | $495 | $4,950 | $990 |
| Team | $995 | $9,950 | $1,990 |
| Advanced | Not offered | $144 a year | Not applicable |
| Team Ultra | No price shown | No price shown | Not applicable |

[BuiltWith's products page](https://builtwith.com/all-products) lists the same three prices. It adds Advanced, which costs $144 a year with a one-year minimum. Advanced gives detailed technology profiles of single sites, with no list building, no API credits and no CRM sync. The plans page also links to [Team Ultra](https://builtwith.com/team-ultra), which adds unlimited lookups on your own API endpoint and datasets of up to 100,000,000 records. Its page shows no price.

The yearly view changes what Basic includes. The monthly view lists 2 technologies, 2 keywords and 2 retail reports. The yearly view lists 24 of each, which is 12 times as many. The page does not explain the change, so ask BuiltWith how the 24 are counted before you rely on it. Pro and Team are unlimited in both views.

BuiltWith's help pages disagree with its plans page on one price. The [Plans and Pricing Explained](https://kb.builtwith.com/general-questions/plans-and-pricing-explained/) article says Team costs $950 a month, while the plans page and the products page say $995. We use $995, the figure on the live pages. Check the checkout screen before you pay.

## What does each BuiltWith plan include?

Each paid plan is built around reports: lists of websites that use a technology or keyword, with exports. The plans differ in how many reports you can build, how many API credits you get, how many sites you can upload and how many people can log in.

| Included | Basic | Pro | Team |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Technologies | 2 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Keywords | 2 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Retail reports | 2 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Logins | 1 | 1 | Unlimited |
| API credits a month | 2,000 | 20,000 | 100,000 |
| Websites you can upload for analysis | 2,000 | 20,000 | 100,000 |
| CRM sync | Up to 300,000 leads or contacts | Up to 300,000 | Up to 300,000 |
| Live Feed API technology subscriptions | 2 | 50 | Not stated |

Figures come from the [plans page](https://builtwith.com/plans), the [products page](https://builtwith.com/all-products) and the [Live Feed API page](https://api.builtwith.com/live-feed-api). These are the terms that need a line of explanation:

- **Technologies.** One technology is a full list of sites that use one product, such as every Magento site. [BuiltWith's knowledge base](https://kb.builtwith.com/general-questions/plans-and-pricing-explained/) says it covers filtered variations too, such as Magento sites that use premium A/B testing tools.
- **Keywords.** A [keyword report](https://kb.builtwith.com/creating-reports/create-a-keyword-based-report/) lists sites that have a keyword or phrase on their homepage.
- **Retail reports.** The plans page does not define them. BuiltWith's knowledge base describes [product-based reports](https://kb.builtwith.com/creating-reports/creating-a-product-based-report/) as a way to find websites that sell specific products, which looks like the closest match.
- **Resets.** Every month you can reset your account, which removes all reports so you can start with new base technologies and keywords. On Basic, [BuiltWith's reset article](https://kb.builtwith.com/general-questions/how-to-reset-your-account/) says you get one self-service reset for each paid month.

Each plan also lists usage alerts, exports, CRM links and support seven days a week. For how those compare with other tools, see our guide to [BuiltWith alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/builtwith/).

### Does BuiltWith include contact, relationship and retail data?

Yes, with limits. All three are part of the plans, and each comes with conditions.

- **Contact data.** The plans page lists names, emails and titles of individuals publicly listed with businesses, "within GDPR restrictions". BuiltWith's [export article](https://kb.builtwith.com/export-reports/what-data-can-i-export-from-builtwith-pro/) says the people and email fields are GDPR compliant and exclude EU citizens. Its [terms](https://builtwith.com/terms) say phone numbers must not be used for marketing and that users in Australia may not access email lists. In our reading, this is a by-product of scanning sites, not a contact database.
- **Relationship data.** BuiltWith's free [relationship profiles](https://kb.builtwith.com/free-tools/relationship-profiles/) show other sites that share a technology ID or an IP address. The [Relationships API](https://api.builtwith.com/relationships-api) spends API credits, and its docs say each page request uses one credit. A page holds up to 500 matches.
- **Retail data.** Every plan lists estimated sales revenue for eCommerce sites. The [Domain API](https://api.builtwith.com/domain-api) returns it as a monthly figure, and 0 for sites that are not eCommerce. Retail reports are capped at 2 on Basic.

## Is BuiltWith free, and is there a free trial?

Individual site lookups on BuiltWith are free, but paid plans have no trial. The [plans page](https://builtwith.com/plans) says the free lookup has no end date.

- **Free lookups.** You check one site at a time on the website. The [Free API](https://api.builtwith.com/free-api) returns counts of live and dead technologies by group, with dates, at 1 request a second. It needs an API key from a BuiltWith login.
- **No trial.** BuiltWith's knowledge base [says it does not trial paid plans](https://kb.builtwith.com/general-questions/can-i-trial-the-plans-for-free/) because all data is exportable. Its Live Feed API shows redacted domain names to trial users.
- **No discounts.** BuiltWith's [startup discount article](https://kb.builtwith.com/general-questions/startup-discount/) says it no longer gives discounts on list plans, because of abuse.
- **One-off report.** BuiltWith's [one-off report article](https://kb.builtwith.com/general-questions/how-to-create-a-one-off-report/) says to sign up for Basic, build the report, then cancel. The account stays open for a month. The minimum term still applies, so one list costs $295.

## How does BuiltWith charge for API lookups?

BuiltWith sells API lookups as credits, and one credit buys one domain. [The products page](https://builtwith.com/all-products) prices 2,000 credits at $99, which is $0.0495 a credit. Credits do not expire, none is used when a lookup fails, and BuiltWith says larger purchases are cheaper. We found no published price list for larger purchases.

| Route | Price | What you need |
| --- | --- | --- |
| API credits | $99 for 2,000 credits, or $0.0495 each | A BuiltWith login and an API key |
| Credits inside a plan | 2,000, 20,000 or 100,000 API credits a month on Basic, Pro or Team | A paid plan. The page calls them "accumulative" and does not define the word |
| Stripe top-up | $99.00 for 2,000 credits, bought in steps of 2,000 | An existing account, a separate billing key and spending limits you set |
| x402 pay per call | $0.0495 in USDC a lookup. Failed calls are not charged | A USDC wallet on Base. No account or key |
| MCP prepaid units | At least 2,000 credits, paid in USDC | A wallet, then a reusable key for later lookups |

The first three rows come from the products page and the [Stripe top-up docs](https://api.builtwith.com/agent-payment-api). The last two come from BuiltWith's [x402 page](https://api.builtwith.com/x402-api), which says every lookup there currently costs $0.0495. Its MCP server at `api.builtwith.com/mcp` takes an API key or prepaid USDC credits, per the [MCP setup article](https://kb.builtwith.com/data-integrations/mcp-integration-with-claude/). For other company data APIs, see our guide to the [best company data APIs](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-company-data-apis/).

The [Domain API](https://api.builtwith.com/domain-api) takes up to 16 domains in one call, or 64 in a high-throughput mode that strips text, metadata and contacts. The limit is 8 concurrent requests and 10 requests a second. BuiltWith says you can use the API in your own product but cannot resell the data as is.

Other endpoints spend credits differently:

- **Lists API.** The products page says it uses your plan, not credits. The x402 page lists separate 30-day passes for lists, with no price shown.
- **Change API.** It uses 1 credit for each domain that returns changes and none when there is no change, per the [Change API docs](https://api.builtwith.com/change-api).
- **Trust option.** Adding the trust flag to a [Domain API](https://api.builtwith.com/domain-api) call uses one more credit.
- **Free endpoints.** The [API overview](https://api.builtwith.com/) marks the Free API and Trends API as free.

## What does one BuiltWith lookup really cost?

At the list rate, one BuiltWith domain lookup costs $0.0495. A plan lowers that rate only if you use its credits. Here are the assumptions behind the table and Figure 1:

- One credit buys one domain, as the products page says.
- You spend every included credit on Domain API lookups.
- Yearly figures use 12 months of monthly credits.
- Lists, exports, logins and CRM sync are ignored, so each plan does more than this math shows.
- Credits cost the $0.0495 list rate, with no volume discount.

| Route | Price | Credits | Cost per lookup |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Basic, monthly | $295 | 2,000 a month | $0.1475 |
| Basic, yearly | $2,950 | 24,000 a year | $0.1229 |
| Credit pack | $99 | 2,000 | $0.0495 |
| Firehose, a live lookup of a list you supply | $315.45 | 5,000 websites | $0.0631 |
| Pro, monthly | $495 | 20,000 a month | $0.02475 |
| Pro, yearly | $4,950 | 240,000 a year | $0.0206 |
| Team, monthly | $995 | 100,000 a month | $0.00995 |
| Team, yearly | $9,950 | 1,200,000 a year | $0.0083 |

**Figure 1: Cost of one domain lookup on BuiltWith routes and Enrich.chat.** Bar chart of cost per domain lookup when every included credit is used. BuiltWith Basic costs 14.75 cents, API credits cost 4.95 cents, Pro costs 2.475 cents and Team costs 0.995 cents. Enrich.chat on the Growth plan costs $0.00145 dollars a tech lookup. The tools return different data.

*Cost of one domain lookup if you spend every credit a plan includes. Bars are to scale. The plans also include lists, exports and logins, and BuiltWith returns more fields per domain, such as dates and a confidence score. Enrich.chat returns names and categories only. Sources: [BuiltWith plans](https://builtwith.com/plans), [BuiltWith products](https://builtwith.com/all-products), [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).*

Three break-even points follow from the table. Pro costs $495, which buys 10,000 credits at the list rate, so Pro is cheaper for the API once you pass about 10,000 lookups a month. Team costs $995, which buys about 20,100 credits at the list rate. Basic never wins on the API alone: its 2,000 credits are worth $99 at list price, and it costs $295. Buy Basic for its lists, not its credits.

Firehose, which looks up a list you supply, costs $315.45 for 5,000 websites on the products page. That is about $0.063 a site, above the credit rate. For more on how these prices compare across vendors, see our guide to [technographic data](https://enrich.chat/blog/technographic-data/).

## What are BuiltWith's contract, cancellation and refund terms?

The minimum term is one month on monthly plans and one year on yearly plans, and you can cancel at any time, per the [plans page FAQ](https://builtwith.com/plans). Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not end the term you have already paid for.

**Figure 2: What cancelling a BuiltWith plan does.** Two timelines. On a monthly plan you are charged for one month at the start, cancel after the first week, and the account stays Pro for the remaining three weeks before it reverts to a free account. On a yearly plan you are charged for the whole year at the start, can cancel at any time, are not billed again, and the account works for the full year.

*What happens when you cancel, using BuiltWith's own example for a monthly Pro plan and its rule for yearly plans. Orange dots mark the charge. Source: [BuiltWith's cancellation policy](https://kb.builtwith.com/account-management/cancellation-policy/).*

- **How to cancel.** Open Billing under the Account menu on your dashboard, then use the Stripe or Braintree billing portal, per BuiltWith's [how-to article](https://kb.builtwith.com/account-management/how-to-cancel-a-subscription/).
- **Monthly plans.** You are charged a month at the start. After you cancel, the account works until the renewal date and then reverts to free.
- **Yearly plans.** You are charged for the whole year. A cancelled yearly plan is not rebilled and works for the full year.
- **Renewal.** The [terms of use](https://builtwith.com/terms) say you authorize BuiltWith to charge fees until you cancel, and that Team subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. They list API services among recurring subscriptions, while the products page sells credits as a "PAYG" purchase, so ask which applies to you.
- **Refunds.** The plans page FAQ says BuiltWith pro-rates refunds for plan changes. The terms say refunds are not given for a change of mind, and that a chargeback without contacting BuiltWith first ends the account at once. They add that Australian consumer law applies if a service is faulty or differs materially from what was promised.
- **Payment.** The plans page lists Visa, Mastercard, American Express, PayPal and Bitcoin through Coinbase or BitPay, plus wire transfers for yearly contracts. It says an upgrade is instant if your account and payment pass fraud checks.

Two reviewers on [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/builtwith.com) mention account verification. A June 2026 review says a card was charged while the account sat in human review for three weeks. An August 2025 review says verification can take a couple of hours. Trustpilot shows 12 reviews at 2.9 out of 5, so treat both as anecdotes.

## What hidden costs can raise a BuiltWith bill?

The plan price is not the whole bill. These items sit outside the headline figures on the plans page.

- **Basic's ceiling.** Basic covers two technologies. Unlimited reports start at Pro, which costs 68% more. BuiltWith's [help article](https://kb.builtwith.com/general-questions/plans-and-pricing-explained/) calls Pro "less than twice the price" of Basic.
- **Credits past the allowance.** Extra API credits cost $0.0495 each, bought in steps of 2,000 for $99.
- **Plan-only features.** The Lists API and the Live Feed API need a plan. The Live Feed API allows 2 technology subscriptions on Basic and 50 on Pro.
- **Bulk and big data.** The products page lists Firehose at $315.45 for 5,000 websites, datasets from $1,721 to $187,000 by list size, and LeadsEye and List Upload at $100 each. Team Ultra shows no price.
- **A crypto wallet.** The pay-per-call route takes USDC on Base. You need a wallet, which the plans do not.
- **Yearly lock-in.** Yearly billing charges the full year up front, and the minimum term is a year.
- **Use limits.** The license is for internal business use. Team accounts are limited to employees of the buying organization, and a dashboard report can hold at most 10,000,000 results, per the [terms](https://builtwith.com/terms).

### Which BuiltWith option suits which buyer?

Figure 3 matches each job to the cheapest BuiltWith option that covers it. The 10,000 and 20,000 thresholds are our arithmetic, from each plan's price divided by $0.0495.

**Figure 3: Which BuiltWith option fits which job.** Six jobs and the BuiltWith option priced for each. Checking a site now and then uses the free lookup. Detailed profiles of single sites use Advanced at 144 dollars a year. API lookups of single domains, up to about 10,000 a month, use API credits at 0.0495 dollars a lookup. Lists for one or two technologies use Basic at 295 dollars a month. Many lists, or API use above about 10,000 lookups a month, point to Pro at 495 dollars a month. Several logins, or API use above about 20,000 lookups a month, point to Team at 995 dollars a month.

*Which BuiltWith option fits which job, with prices from [BuiltWith's plans page](https://builtwith.com/plans) and [products page](https://builtwith.com/all-products), checked October 16, 2026. The highlighted row is the route most relevant to an AI agent that checks domains on demand.*

## How does a tech lookup on Enrich.chat compare with BuiltWith's price?

Enrich.chat sells monthly credit plans: Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits. Every plan has unlimited seats, every product and no annual contract. A company's tech stack found uses 5 credits, and a lookup that finds nothing uses 0. Each IP address gets 10 lookups a day free of charge, with no signup and no API key. See the [pricing page](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) for every rate.

At full use, one tech lookup works out to $0.00145 on Growth, $0.0009 on Scale and $0.000598 on Pro. BuiltWith's list price is $0.0495 a lookup. The two return different things, so this is a price comparison, not a quality one. The table prices three monthly workloads.

| Domains a month | BuiltWith's cheapest published route | Enrich.chat |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1,000 | $49.50 at $0.0495 a call with x402, or $99 for a 2,000-credit pack | 5,000 credits on the Growth plan, $29 a month |
| 20,000 | Pro at $495 a month, which includes 20,000 API credits and lists. Or $990 as credits at list price | Growth plan, $29 a month, using all its credits |
| 100,000 | Team at $995 a month, which includes 100,000 API credits and lists. Or $4,950 as credits at list price | Scale plan, $90 a month, using all its credits |

A plan is a fixed monthly price, so 1,000 lookups use only part of it. Priced at the plan's own credit rate, 1,000 tech lookups use $1.45 of Growth credits. The plan itself is $29 a month.

BuiltWith's Domain API returns more per domain. Its [docs](https://api.builtwith.com/domain-api) lists a 0 to 1 confidence score, first and last detected dates, an estimated monthly technology spend and company details. Enrich.chat's response lists names and categories only. This page makes no claim about which service finds more technologies.

Enrich.chat has two honest gaps next to BuiltWith:

- **No web-wide lists, history or alerts.** It checks one domain at a time. Company search can list companies in its records that use a tool, 25 to a page, but it cannot list every site on the web, and it returns no dates, confidence score or change alerts.
- **A slower pace for big batches.** Our [agent docs](https://enrich.chat/agents.md) asks agents to send about one request a second. A batch of 20,000 domains takes about 5.5 hours at that pace. BuiltWith's docs allow up to 10 requests a second and 16 domains in one call.

If you want the stack and then the people at that company, the same API does both. Your agent reads [agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md) or adds the [MCP server](https://enrich.chat/install/), and the [company enrichment API](https://enrich.chat/api/company-enrichment/) returns the company profile. Try the free [tech stack lookup](https://enrich.chat/tools/tech-stack-lookup/) first, or paste this into ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor:

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to check the tech stack of each company website in my list. Return the technologies with their categories, say not found for any with no result, and give me the total credits_used so I can compare it with BuiltWith's $0.0495 a lookup: [paste company websites]
```

## When is BuiltWith the better choice?

BuiltWith is the better choice when you need lists, history, alerts or volume. Its own pages describe these as its core, and Enrich.chat has none of the first three.

- **Lists of sites.** Pro and Team build unlimited lists by technology or keyword, per the [plans page](https://builtwith.com/plans). The [Lists API](https://api.builtwith.com/lists-api) returns sites that use a technology across the web.
- **History and change.** The plans list 18 or more years of trend history. The [Change API](https://api.builtwith.com/change-api) reports technology additions and removals with an AI-written note on why each matters.
- **Alerts and feeds.** Usage alerts and a real-time [Live Feed API](https://api.builtwith.com/live-feed-api) tell you when sites start using a technology.
- **Volume.** The [Domain API](https://api.builtwith.com/domain-api) allows 10 requests a second, bulk jobs and 16 domains per call. Firehose, datasets and Team Ultra cover larger needs, per the [products page](https://builtwith.com/all-products).
- **Retail and sales data.** The plans list estimated sales revenue for eCommerce sites, and BuiltWith's knowledge base describes [product-based reports](https://kb.builtwith.com/creating-reports/creating-a-product-based-report/) that find sites selling specific products.
- **CRM sync.** The [products page](https://builtwith.com/all-products) says every paid plan syncs up to 300,000 leads or contacts with technology data in Salesforce or HubSpot.

The trade-offs are cost, term and setup. Paid plans start at $295 a month with a one-month minimum, and the API needs an account unless you pay in USDC. If you check a handful of sites a month, the free lookup may be all you need. ## Frequently asked questions

### How much does BuiltWith cost per month?

[BuiltWith's plans page](https://builtwith.com/plans) lists Basic at $295 a month, Pro at $495 and Team at $995, checked October 16, 2026. The yearly view shows $2,950, $4,950 and $9,950, which is ten times the monthly price. Individual site lookups are free. An Advanced plan for single-site detail costs $144 a year, per [BuiltWith's products page](https://builtwith.com/all-products). Team Ultra shows no price on its page.

### Does BuiltWith have a free trial?

Not for paid plans. Individual site lookups are free, per the [plans page](https://builtwith.com/plans). [BuiltWith's knowledge base](https://kb.builtwith.com/general-questions/can-i-trial-the-plans-for-free/) says it does not trial paid plans because all data is exportable, and [its help pages](https://kb.builtwith.com/general-questions/startup-discount/) say it no longer gives discounts on list plans. For one list, you can sign up for Basic, build the report and cancel, but the one-month minimum still applies, so that costs $295.

### How much does the BuiltWith API cost per lookup?

BuiltWith's [products page](https://builtwith.com/all-products) sells API credits at $99 for 2,000, which is $0.0495 a credit, and one credit buys one domain. Basic, Pro and Team include 2,000, 20,000 and 100,000 API credits a month. BuiltWith's [x402 page](https://api.builtwith.com/x402-api) lists the same $0.0495 per call in USDC with no account. Using every included credit, Pro works out to $0.02475 a lookup and Team to $0.00995.

### Can you cancel BuiltWith and get a refund?

You can cancel at any time from the billing portal. A monthly plan stays active until its paid month ends, then drops to free. A yearly plan is charged for the full year and runs to the end of it, per [its cancellation policy](https://kb.builtwith.com/account-management/cancellation-policy/). The [plans page](https://builtwith.com/plans) says refunds are pro-rated for plan changes, but BuiltWith's [terms](https://builtwith.com/terms) give no refund for a change of mind.

### What is the cheapest way to use BuiltWith?

For single sites, the free lookup costs nothing. Advanced costs $144 a year for detailed single-site profiles, per the [products page](https://builtwith.com/all-products). For API lookups without a plan, BuiltWith's [x402 route](https://api.builtwith.com/x402-api) charges $0.0495 a call in USDC. Lists start with Basic at $295 a month, which covers two technologies. Which route is cheapest depends on how many lookups you make.

### Is there a cheaper way to check a company's tech stack from an AI agent?

Enrich.chat's tech lookup uses 5 credits when a stack is found and 0 when nothing is found. Each IP address gets 10 lookups a day free of charge, with no signup, and plans start at $29 a month. It returns names and categories for one domain at a time, with no dates, confidence score or lists of sites. See the [BuiltWith alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/builtwith/).
