# Crunchbase API pricing in 2026: plans, cost per lookup, contract terms and alternatives

Crunchbase closed its Basic API and sells REST access only through its sales team. Here is what Pro, Business and the API cost, what the terms allow, and what else you can buy.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 16, 2026.

**Short answer:** Crunchbase publishes no price for its API. Its docs say [REST access comes through its sales team](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/using-the-api), while [Pro costs $49 a month billed annually in year one](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing) ($99 monthly) and lists no API. [Vendr's buyer data](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/crunchbase) shows a $20,000 median contract across all Crunchbase products, and Enterprise contracts typically start at $50,000 a year.

## Key takeaways

- Crunchbase's docs say the Basic API is no longer offered. Internet Archive copies show it open to all users in January 2024 and closed by May 2025.
- Pro costs $49 a month billed annually in year one (list $79) or $99 billed monthly. Business starts at $199 a month. Neither lists API access.
- REST API access is sold through sales as Custom Data Solutions, with no public price. Vendr reports a $20,000 median across all products and $50,000 or more for Enterprise.
- Each Enterprise API key is limited to 200 requests a minute and 3 at once. Exports stop at 2,000 rows a month on Pro and 5,000 on Business.
- Crunchbase's data terms bar model training and redistribution, require deleting data within 10 days of termination, and keep pricing terms confidential.

## Plans and prices

Prices as listed by Crunchbase on October 16, 2026. [Source](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing). REST API access is sold through Crunchbase sales as Custom Data Solutions and has no public price. The Basic API is no longer offered.

| Plan | Price | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Free account | $0 /mo | Usage limits apply. A login, not a REST API key |
| Pro | $49 /mo | Billed annually, year one. $79 list, $99 monthly |
| Business | $199 /mo | From, billed annually. Talk to sales, 2 or more seats |
| Custom Data Solutions | Custom quote | The route with API access |

## How much does the Crunchbase API cost in 2026?

Crunchbase publishes no price for its REST API. On October 16, 2026, its [pricing page](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing) listed three paid routes: Pro at $49 a month billed annually in year one or $99 billed monthly, Business from $199 a month billed annually, and Custom Data Solutions at custom pricing. The API sits in the last one. Crunchbase's [API page](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/crunchbase-api/) sends you to a sales form to ask about access and pricing.

Pro shows both billing views side by side. The $49 price carries a 38% first-year discount badge next to a crossed-out $79, so $79 a month is the list price after year one. The page does not state the renewal rate. Business shows only an annual price and a talk-to-sales button. The page had no currency or region switch, and Crunchbase's [Terms of Service](https://about.crunchbase.com/terms-of-service) say fees are paid in US dollars.

*Crunchbase's published prices, checked October 16, 2026. The yearly column is our arithmetic.*

| Plan and billing view | Price a month | Price a year | How you buy |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Pro, annual, year one | $49 | $588 | Self-serve, 7-day trial |
| Pro, annual, crossed-out price | $79 | $948 | Self-serve |
| Pro, monthly | $99 | $1,188 | Self-serve, 7-day trial |
| Business, annual, from | $199 | $2,388 | Talk to sales |
| Custom Data Solutions | Custom | Custom | Talk to sales |

Third parties fill the gap on the API. [Vendr's buyer data](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/crunchbase) shows a median Crunchbase contract of $20,000 a year across 71 purchases, ranging from $4,440 to $51,377. That covers all Crunchbase products, not the API alone. Vendr adds that API access is typically Enterprise-only and priced on call volume, and that Enterprise contracts typically start at $50,000 or more a year. Its page was last updated in February 2026, so treat these as reported figures, not Crunchbase prices.

## Is the free Crunchbase API gone?

Yes. Crunchbase's [developer docs](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/crunchbase-basic-getting-started) say it no longer offers its Basic API. Anyone who already made a Basic key can still view it but cannot make a new one. Basic was a key you could generate yourself from your account settings. None of the Crunchbase pages we read states a price for it, and the [dev.to article](https://dev.to/agenthustler/crunchbase-api-in-2026-free-tier-gone-what-startup-data-hunters-do-now-1177) that ranks for this query calls it the free tier.

Internet Archive copies date the change. A [copy from January 14, 2024](https://web.archive.org/web/20240114093039/https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/crunchbase-basic-getting-started) described Basic as open to all users, with a self-serve key for company names, locations and domains. A [copy from May 15, 2025](https://web.archive.org/web/20250515222638/https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/crunchbase-basic-getting-started) carries the notice that Basic is no longer offered. So Basic closed between those two dates, and Crunchbase's docs give no exact day.

**Figure 1: How Crunchbase API access changed.** A timeline in three steps. On January 14, 2024 the Basic API was open to all users with a self-serve key. By May 15, 2025 Crunchbase said it no longer offered the Basic API. On October 16, 2026 the pricing page lists no API on Pro or Business and puts scaled API access under Custom Data Solutions, which is sold through sales.

*How Crunchbase API access changed, from two Internet Archive copies and Crunchbase's pages read on October 16, 2026. Sources: [January 2024 copy](https://web.archive.org/web/20240114093039/https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/crunchbase-basic-getting-started), [May 2025 copy](https://web.archive.org/web/20250515222638/https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/crunchbase-basic-getting-started), [pricing page](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing), [Using the API](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/using-the-api).*

Crunchbase says in its [migration guide](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/legacy-migration-overview) that it mapped every legacy API key to a data package that mirrors the old access, and it asks integrators to move to new keys. Paid plans do not replace Basic.

### What does the dev.to article get right?

The dev.to article, dated May 2 and edited May 4, is right that the free tier is gone. It also says a $49 Basic plan gives limited API access and a $99 Pro plan gives full API access at 200 calls a minute. Crunchbase's pricing page lists no Basic plan and no API on Pro, and its docs say REST access comes through the sales team. The 200 a minute figure is real, but Crunchbase documents it for Enterprise API keys. Treat the article's plan-to-API mapping as unconfirmed.

The article also points readers to a scraping service. Crunchbase's Terms of Service bar crawling or scraping its content by manual or automated means, so scraping is not a safe way around the missing tier. This is not legal advice.

### What is still free?

A free Crunchbase account. The pricing page FAQ says it includes company profiles, search results, AI-powered research and Crunchbase MCP, with usage limits. That is a login for a person, not a REST API key.

## What does each Crunchbase plan and API tier include?

Pro and Business are research apps with export caps, and the API is licensed by data package through sales. The table summarizes what Crunchbase's pricing page lists for each.

*From Crunchbase's pricing page comparison, checked October 16, 2026.*

| Plan | Built for | Data access | Delivery |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free account | One person | Profiles, search results and AI research; limits apply | Web app and MCP |
| Pro | One person | 2,000 export rows a month; up to 1,000 results a search; lists up to 100 each | Web app, Chrome extension, MCP at base usage |
| Business | Teams of 2 or more | 5,000 export rows a month; up to 1,000 results a search; unlimited lists | Salesforce, HubSpot, Zapier and Outreach; SSO; more MCP usage |
| Custom Data Solutions | Organizations or applications at scale | Licensed fields, bulk delivery, current and historical signals | Scaled API, Snowflake or Databricks, enterprise MCP, dedicated support |

The API is licensed by package. Per the [API packages overview](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/api-packages-overview), Crunchbase sells Fundamentals, Insights and Predictions, and the last two always include Fundamentals. Your key returns only the fields you licensed. The [Fundamentals page](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/fundamentals) splits that package in four:

- **Core firmographics.** Descriptions, websites, founding dates, locations and employee counts.
- **Advanced firmographics.** Ownership, company structure and program involvement.
- **Core financials.** Funding stages, aggregate and latest funding, IPO data and investors.
- **Advanced financials.** Round-by-round funding, valuations, revenue ranges and acquisition history.

### What are the Crunchbase API endpoints and rate limits?

The Crunchbase REST API is read-only and JSON only, with a key sent in an X-cb-user-key header, per its [Using the API page](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/using-the-api), which was updated the day we read it. It has entity lookup, search, autocomplete and deleted-entities calls. Each Enterprise API key has two limits: 200 requests a minute and 3 requests in progress at once. Overlapping calls can draw an HTTP 429 even under 200 a minute, so you need a shared queue.

- **Lookup keys.** [Entity lookup](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/using-entity-lookup-apis) takes a UUID or a permalink, not a website. A relationship card returns at most 100 items.
- **Search.** [Search](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/using-search-apis) returns up to 1,000 items a page and combines filters with AND.
- **Websites.** The [API FAQs](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/api-faqs) say a website search can return several organizations, so you compare candidates and store the UUID of the right one.

### Does Crunchbase MCP cost extra?

It depends on which Crunchbase page you read. The pricing page says MCP is included with Pro and Business, with usage limits, and that a free account includes it. The developer docs say MCP is [purchased separately per workspace](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/managing-mcp-access), that each user needs an assigned seat on Business, and that embedding it in your own product is [priced separately](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/crunchbase-mcp/). MCP and API quotas are separate. Ask sales which rule applies before you build on it.

## How much does one Crunchbase company lookup cost?

Crunchbase gives no per-lookup price, so any cost per company needs assumptions. If you use every export row, Pro and Business come to about 2.5 to 5 cents a record. But an export row is not an API call.

*Our arithmetic from Crunchbase's published prices and Vendr's reported Enterprise starting point, checked October 16, 2026.*

| Route | Paid in a year | Records a year | Cost per record |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Pro, annual, year one | $588 | 24,000 export rows | about $0.025 |
| Pro, annual, crossed-out price | $948 | 24,000 export rows | about $0.04 |
| Pro, monthly | $1,188 | 24,000 export rows | about $0.05 |
| Business, annual, from | $2,388 | 60,000 export rows | about $0.04 |
| API at a $50,000 contract | $50,000 | 100,000 lookups | $0.50 |
| API at a $50,000 contract | $50,000 | 1,000,000 lookups | $0.05 |

Three assumptions sit behind the table. The Pro and Business rows assume you export the full allowance of 2,000 or 5,000 rows every month. Exports are meant for people: Crunchbase's Terms of Service bar using automated tools to download or export content, so you cannot script a Pro plan into an API. The API rows use Vendr's $50,000 starting point as an illustration only. A real quote depends on call volume, fields and term.

## What are the contract terms and hidden costs?

Crunchbase's self-serve plans renew automatically and refund little, and its API licenses carry use limits and a confidentiality clause. The costs that surprise buyers sit in caps, add-ons and terms more than in the sticker price.

- **Auto-renewal.** The [Terms of Service](https://about.crunchbase.com/terms-of-service) say a subscription renews at the period on your plan page and at the then-current rate. Crunchbase may change prices on notice.
- **Refunds.** Payments are nonrefundable with no credit for part periods, but the [Cancellation Policy](https://about.crunchbase.com/terms-of-service/cancellation-policy/) allows a refund request in the first 7 days. Exporting data from Pro or Business, even in a trial, ends that right. Cancelling stops the next renewal only.
- **Trials and exports.** Pro has a 7-day trial. The pricing page FAQ says exports become available when the paid subscription begins.
- **Export caps.** Pro stops at 2,000 rows a month and Business at 5,000. The page does not say whether the Business cap is per seat or per team, so ask.
- **Data Boost.** Partner filters from BuiltWith, G2 Stack and others cost [$360 a year](https://about.crunchbase.com/data-boost) on top of Pro or Business, and the partners are sold as one bundle.
- **Escalators.** Vendr says annual increases of 5% to 10% are common in Crunchbase contracts.

### What do Crunchbase's API license terms say?

The [License Agreement page](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/license-agreement), dated May 29, 2017, describes Enterprise access as custom-priced by number of end users, with fees nonrefundable, due at the start of each term and paid in US dollars. Each license covers one department or use case, and Crunchbase may suspend or end access at any time. Your Order Form may differ from that page.

The [Data Access Terms](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/terms), effective November 26, 2024, add two more costs. You must not disclose the Order Form's terms, including pricing, to third parties, which is likely one reason few API quotes appear online. And on termination you must destroy all copies within 10 days, an officer must certify it, and Crunchbase may audit you for a year.

### Can you cache Crunchbase data, train a model on it or show it to customers?

Not without a specific license. The Data Access Terms limit use to what your Order Form allows. They bar displaying, publishing or distributing the data, using it for a third party, training models on it (generative AI included), and any use that stops you from deleting it. The [Using the API page](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/using-the-api) adds that, unless your license says otherwise, you may not give the data to third parties, and shared data needs a visible, followable link to Crunchbase.

The [MCP Server Terms](https://about.crunchbase.com/terms-of-service/mcp-server-terms), effective September 30, 2026, allow internal business use only. They bar retrieval systems or vector databases that outside parties can reach, require deleting embeddings and summaries within 10 days of termination, and bar sending the data to AI clients whose terms allow training on inputs. The Terms of Service also bar copying a significant portion of content into a tool such as ChatGPT, except through authorized MCP access. Products built on the data need a separate commercial agreement, per the License Agreement page, and Crunchbase's [data licensing page](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/data-licensing/) names Yahoo Finance and MarketWatch among them.

People data adds privacy duties. Crunchbase's [privacy policy](https://about.crunchbase.com/terms-of-service/privacy-policy) says it compiles profiles about entities and individuals and sells profile data to customers and data partners, so check your own obligations before you store people fields. This is a reading of public terms, not legal advice.

## Which Crunchbase tier fits which buyer?

Pro fits one researcher, Business fits a team that works in a CRM, and Custom Data Solutions is the only route built for software that calls the data with no person signed in. Figure 2 turns that into three questions.

**Figure 2: Which Crunchbase tier fits.** A decision tree with three questions. If software calls the data with no person signed in, the fit is Custom Data Solutions, which is quote only and includes scaled API access. If not, and a team shares it and syncs a CRM, the fit is Business from $199 a month billed annually. If not, and you need more than a free account allows, the fit is Pro at $49 a month in year one. Otherwise a free account fits, with usage limits. An AI assistant user can connect Crunchbase MCP, with usage limits.

*Which Crunchbase route fits, from its pricing page and docs read on October 16, 2026. Sources: [pricing page](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing), [Using the API](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/using-the-api), [Managing MCP Access](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/managing-mcp-access).*

- **A founder, investor or analyst.** Pro gives profiles, forecasts, lists and 2,000 export rows a month for one login.
- **A sales or research team.** Business adds CRM and workflow integrations, 5,000 export rows and team controls.
- **A product, model or backend agent.** Only Custom Data Solutions lists API access, and the terms above apply.

## What do other company data APIs cost?

Three of the five alternatives publish a price for company data. Dealroom publishes seat prices but quotes its API, and PitchBook sells by quote. The table lists what each vendor's own page showed on October 16, 2026, with the unit cost for one company record.

*Prices from each vendor's own pages, checked October 16, 2026. Cost per record is our arithmetic at full use of the plan.*

| Provider | Price | One company record | How you buy |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [People Data Labs](https://www.peopledatalabs.com/pricing/company) | Pro company plan $100 a month, or $960 a year billed annually; Free gives 100 records a month | $0.10 monthly, $0.08 annual, for 1,000 monthly records | Self-serve plan; Enterprise by quote |
| [Apollo](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) | Basic $49 a seat a month billed annually, or $65 billed monthly | [1 credit per organization](https://docs.apollo.io/docs/api-pricing); about $0.02 annual, $0.03 monthly, at 2,500 credits a month | Seats plus a credit pool |
| [ZoomInfo GTM AI](https://gtm.ai/pricing) | 1,000 data credits free at signup; $0.38 a credit at the $1,000 spend tier | 1 credit per company, so $0.38 at that tier | Prepaid credits for API, MCP and CLI |
| [Dealroom](https://dealroom.co/pricing) | Premium €250 a seat a month billed annually, or $288 on its [US dollar page](https://dealroom.co/pricing-usd); 3 seats minimum | API is an add-on priced on call volume, quote only | Seats plus an API quote |
| PitchBook | No public price on the pages we could read | Quote only; [Multiples](https://multiples.vc/compare/pitchbook-api-alternatives) reports API packages from about $70,000 a year | Annual license by quote |

Funding fields differ by vendor. [People Data Labs' company schema](https://docs.peopledatalabs.com/docs/company-schema) includes funding stages, total raised, last funding date and number of rounds, with funding details in its premium fields. [Apollo's organization enrichment](https://docs.apollo.io/reference/organization-enrichment) can return funding round details, revenue and employee counts. PitchBook's own site blocked automated reads, and Multiples sells a competing product, so its figure is a reported estimate, not PitchBook's price.

Our guides go deeper on [People Data Labs pricing](https://enrich.chat/blog/people-data-labs-pricing/), the [Apollo API](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-api/), the [ZoomInfo API](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-api-pricing/) and [D&B Hoovers pricing](https://enrich.chat/blog/dun-and-bradstreet-hoovers-pricing/). ## How does Enrich.chat's company lookup compare?

Enrich.chat sells a company profile by website on a flat monthly plan. A profile found uses 5 credits, a lookup that finds nothing uses 0, and each IP gets 10 free lookups a day without signup. Plans bill monthly with unlimited seats and no annual contract: Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits. Credits renew with each payment and do not roll over. The [company enrichment API](https://enrich.chat/api/company-enrichment/) page lists every field.

Here is the same lookup on each side. Crunchbase needs a key from sales and a website search that can return several organizations, so you pick one and store its UUID. Enrich.chat takes one GET with a website, and the key is optional on the free tier. The Crunchbase request follows its Search API and API FAQ pages. We did not run it.

```
# Crunchbase: search by website, then pick an organization and store its uuid
curl -X POST "https://api.crunchbase.com/v4/data/searches/organizations" \
  -H "X-cb-user-key: $CRUNCHBASE_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"field_ids": ["identifier", "short_description", "website_url"],
       "query": [{"type": "predicate", "field_id": "website_url",
                  "operator_id": "domain_eq", "values": ["acmelogistics.com"]}],
       "limit": 5}'
# Enrich.chat: one request, example values are made up
curl -G https://enrich.chat/v1/company -d domain=acmelogistics.com
# {"found": true, "name": "Acme Logistics", "domain": "acmelogistics.com",
#  "industry": "logistics & supply chain", "employees": 420, "state": "Texas",
#  "country": "United States", "credits_used": 5, "free_lookups_remaining": 9}
```

The table prices three monthly jobs. A plan is a fixed monthly price, so each job uses part of it, and the Crunchbase column shows what each route covers, not an equal service.

| Monthly job | Crunchbase route | Enrich.chat |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 2,000 company profiles | Pro: 2,000 export rows for one person, $49 to $99 a month | 10,000 credits on the Growth plan, $29 a month |
| 20,000 company profiles | Above the 2,000 and 5,000 row export caps, so an API quote | 100,000 credits on the Growth plan, $29 a month |
| 100,000 company profiles | API quote; a $50,000 contract averages about $4,170 a month | 500,000 credits on the Scale plan, $90 a month |

Priced at the plan's own credit rate, 2,000 profiles use $2.90 of Growth credits, while the plan itself is $29 a month. Figure 3 sets the monthly bills side by side.

**Figure 3: Monthly price for 2,000 company records.** Bar chart of monthly list prices on October 16, 2026. Enrich.chat costs $29 a month on the Growth plan for 2,000 company profiles. Crunchbase Pro costs $49 a month billed annually in year one, $79 at the crossed-out annual price and $99 billed monthly, for 2,000 export rows. Crunchbase Business starts at $199 a month. Crunchbase Custom Data Solutions, the API route, is not published, and Vendr reports Enterprise contracts from $50,000 a year.

*Monthly list prices for a job of 2,000 company records, checked October 16, 2026. The bars are not like for like: Crunchbase Pro buys one person's research seat with 2,000 export rows, while the Enrich.chat plan buys API lookups of a different, narrower profile. Sources: [Crunchbase pricing](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing), [Vendr](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/crunchbase), [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).*

Your agent reads [agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md) or adds the [MCP server](https://enrich.chat/install/), which needs no key. A company profile takes a website, and the same website works for the [tech stack](https://enrich.chat/tools/tech-stack-lookup/) and people calls. Enrich.chat has two honest gaps next to Crunchbase:

- **No funding rounds, investors, acquisitions or news.** The profile returns name, domain, industry, employees, state and country. If funding data drives your list, Crunchbase covers it and Enrich.chat does not.
- **Website only.** A company name alone is not supported, so you need the domain first. There are no forecasts either.

To price a list on your own rows, paste this into ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor:

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to look up these company websites at about one request a second. Return each company's name, industry, employee count, state and country, mark misses as not found, and give me the total credits_used: [paste company websites, one per line]
```

## When is Crunchbase the better choice?

Crunchbase is the better choice when your question is about money and momentum rather than a contact or a plain profile. Based on its own docs and pages, it gives you five things Enrich.chat does not:

- **Funding history.** The [Advanced Financials package](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/fundamentals) covers round-by-round funding, valuations, revenue ranges and acquisitions.
- **Forecasts.** The [Predictions package](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/api-packages-overview) adds funding, growth, acquisition and IPO forecasts to Fundamentals.
- **A low entry price for one person.** Pro at $49 a month in year one is the lowest-priced paid plan for one person who researches private companies in its app.
- **CRM and AI-tool links.** Business syncs with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zapier and Outreach, and Crunchbase MCP works in Claude and ChatGPT with a login.
- **Licensed data inside a product.** Custom Data Solutions and the commercial license are the sanctioned route, with attribution rules attached.

Pick an API like Enrich.chat when you need a company profile from a website inside an agent or app, with a flat monthly plan, unlimited seats and no annual contract. Crunchbase, [People Data Labs](https://enrich.chat/blog/people-data-labs-pricing/) and Enrich.chat can sit side by side in one workflow. Our [Crunchbase alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/crunchbase/) page compares more options, and the guides to [company data enrichment](https://enrich.chat/blog/company-data-enrichment/) and [firmographic data](https://enrich.chat/blog/firmographic-data/) explain what each field is for. See [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) for the full rate card.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is there a free Crunchbase API?

No. Crunchbase's [developer docs](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/crunchbase-basic-getting-started) say it no longer offers its Basic API, and holders of an old Basic key cannot make new ones. Internet Archive copies show Basic open to all users in January 2024 and withdrawn by May 2025. A free Crunchbase account still exists, with profiles, search, AI research and MCP under usage limits, per the [pricing page](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing), but it has no REST API key.

### How much does the Crunchbase API cost?

Crunchbase does not publish an API price. Its [pricing page](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing) lists API access only under Custom Data Solutions, at custom pricing, and its docs say REST access comes through sales. [Vendr's buyer data](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/crunchbase) shows a median Crunchbase contract of $20,000 a year across all products and says Enterprise contracts typically start at $50,000 or more. Those are reported figures, not list prices.

### Does Crunchbase Pro include API access?

No API access is listed on Pro. The [pricing page](https://about.crunchbase.com/products/pricing), checked October 16, 2026, shows Pro at $49 a month billed annually in year one or $99 billed monthly, with 2,000 export rows a month and base MCP usage. Crunchbase's [Terms of Service](https://about.crunchbase.com/terms-of-service) bar using automated tools to export content, so a Pro seat cannot stand in for an API.

### What are the Crunchbase API rate limits?

Each Crunchbase Enterprise API key is limited to 200 requests a minute and 3 requests in progress at the same time, per its [Using the API page](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/using-the-api). Overlapping requests can return HTTP 429 even below 200 a minute, so queue calls through a shared worker pool. Wait for the Retry-After header, or back off exponentially. MCP quotas are separate, and these limits do not apply to MCP.

### Can you use Crunchbase data to train AI or store it in a vector database?

Not under the standard terms. Crunchbase's [Data Access Terms](https://data.crunchbase.com/docs/terms) bar using its data to train models, including generative AI, and any use that stops you deleting it. Its [MCP Server Terms](https://about.crunchbase.com/terms-of-service/mcp-server-terms) bar vector databases that outside parties can reach and require deleting embeddings within 10 days of termination. ### What is an alternative to the Crunchbase API for company profiles?

If you need a company profile from a website, Enrich.chat sells monthly credit plans (Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits). A profile found uses 5 credits and a miss uses 0. It returns no funding rounds, investors, acquisitions or news. [People Data Labs](https://www.peopledatalabs.com/pricing/company) and [Apollo](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) list funding fields on self-serve plans. See our guide to the [best company data APIs](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-company-data-apis/).
