# Hunter.io pricing in 2026: plans, credits, and what one email really costs

Hunter lists a Free plan, three paid plans and a custom Enterprise plan, plus API-only Data Platform credits. These are the prices on Hunter's own page on October 15, 2026, with the cost of one email and the terms that change your bill.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 15, 2026.

**Short answer:** On October 15, 2026, [Hunter's pricing page](https://hunter.io/pricing) listed Free at $0, Starter at $49, Growth at $149 and Scale at $299 a month on monthly billing, or $34, $104 and $209 a month billed yearly. An email found costs 1 credit, so Starter works out to about 2.5 cents an email if you use all 2,000 credits.

## Key takeaways

- Hunter's monthly-billing prices are Free at $0 for 50 credits, Starter $49 for 2,000, Growth $149 for 10,000 and Scale $299 for 25,000. Yearly billing is 30% lower per month but paid once for 12 months.
- An email found costs 1 credit and a verification 0.5. If you use every credit on monthly billing, an email costs about 2.5 cents on Starter, 1.5 cents on Growth and 1.2 cents on Scale.
- Hunter's Terms say plans renew automatically and that it does not refund cancellations. Monthly credits reset and do not roll over, and a yearly plan cannot switch to monthly billing during its 12 months.
- Extra credits cost about three times the plan rate: 1,000 credits are $70 on Starter, $52.50 on Growth and $35 on Scale, and a pack lasts 3 months.
- For 10,000 work emails a month Hunter needs its $149 Growth plan, against $29 on Enrich.chat's Growth plan. Hunter's plans also include Sequences and a Chrome extension, which Enrich.chat does not have.

| Free | $0 /mo | No card needed, no time limit |
| Starter | $49 /mo | $34 a month billed yearly ($408) |
| Growth | $149 /mo | $104 a month billed yearly ($1,248) |
| Scale | $299 /mo | $209 a month billed yearly ($2,508) |

## How much does Hunter.io cost in 2026?

Hunter sells a Free plan, three paid plans called Starter, Growth and Scale, and a custom Enterprise plan. On [Hunter's pricing page](https://hunter.io/pricing) on October 15, 2026, Starter cost $49 a month on monthly billing and $34 a month on yearly billing.

The page opens on yearly billing, marked 30% off. That view shows $34, $104 and $209 a month, but each is a year paid at once: $408, $1,248 and $2,508. The monthly view shows $49, $149 and $299. We read both views.

| Hunter plan | Billed monthly | Billed yearly | Credits | Email accounts and recipients |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | $0 | 50 a month | 1 account, 500 recipients |
| Starter | $49 a month | $408 a year ($34 a month) | 2,000 a month, or 24,000 a year | 3 accounts, 2,500 recipients |
| Growth | $149 a month | $1,248 a year ($104 a month) | 10,000 a month, or 120,000 a year | 10 accounts, 5,000 recipients |
| Scale | $299 a month | $2,508 a year ($209 a month) | 25,000 a month, or 300,000 a year | 20 accounts, 15,000 recipients |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom |

Every plan includes unlimited team members, who share one pool of credits. Paid plans add auto-verification, lead enrichment and priority support, and Scale adds an account manager. Prices exclude tax, per [Hunter's Terms](https://hunter.io/terms-of-service). Registered non-profits can ask for 30% off monthly plans by sending proof after signup.

These plans are an outreach platform, not only a data feed. Credits, connected email accounts, recipients per sequence and saved leads all rise with price. The page lists saved-lead caps of 100,000 on Free and 30,000,000 on Scale. If you only want data through an API, Hunter sells Data Platform credits instead, covered below.

### Why do other sites show different Hunter prices?

Hunter changed its plans in 2025. [Hunter's pricing changelog](https://hunter.io/changelog/tag/pricing/) records a new Scale plan on January 7, 2025. On July 16, 2025, [Hunter moved to a single credit balance](https://hunter.io/changelog/unified-credit-system-extra-packs-monthly-lead-verification), which replaced separate search and verification credits on all-in-one plans. Guides written before then list older numbers. Check the date on any price you read, including this one.

### What do buyers report paying?

Negotiated contracts can cost far more than the cards. [Vendr's Hunter page](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/hunter) shows a median of $18,364 a year, with a range of $2,488 to $31,608. The page does not say how many purchases that covers, which plans they were or when they were made, so treat it as a rough guide for large accounts. On Hunter's own page, Scale costs $3,588 a year on monthly billing and $2,508 on yearly billing.

## What does one Hunter credit buy?

One Hunter credit buys one email found. On all-in-one plans every tool draws on one pool of credits, per [Hunter's credit guide](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/1911617-what-is-a-credit-and-how-is-it-counted). A verification costs half a credit, and nothing is used when Hunter cannot find or verify an email.

| Hunter action | Credits | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Email Finder, Bulk Email Finder | 1 per email found | Nothing is used if no email is found |
| Domain Search in the app | 1 per email revealed | Revealed emails are saved and open again free |
| Bulk Domain Search | 1 for 1 to 10 emails on a domain | One charge per domain |
| Email Verifier, Bulk Email Verifier | 0.5 per verification | Unknown results are free, and disposable addresses are skipped |
| Enrichment API (email, company, combined) | 0.2 per call | Charged only when the core fields come back |
| Discover (companies) | Free | Premium filters need a paid plan |
| Sending in Sequences | 0 | Needs connected email accounts, not credits |

Repeat requests do not cost twice. A duplicate Email Finder, Verifier or Domain Search request uses no credits in the same billing period on a monthly plan, or the same calendar month on a yearly plan. Bulk uploads always use credits. [Hunter's pricing FAQ](https://hunter.io/pricing) says credits count the same in the web app, the API, the browser extension and the Google Sheets add-on.

Hunter's own pages disagree on one point. Its [API help page](https://help.hunter.io/integrate-hunter/hunter-api) lists Domain Search at 1 credit for 1 to 10 emails returned, while its credit guide charges 1 credit for each email revealed in the app. Read your Usage page after a small job before you plan a large one.

## What does one email cost on Hunter?

On Hunter's list prices, one email found costs between 0.8 and 2.5 cents if you use every credit. Hunter does not publish a price per credit, so these figures are our arithmetic: each plan's price divided by its credits, checked October 15, 2026.

**Figure 1: Cost of one email found on each Hunter plan.** Bar chart of Hunter's list price for one email found, which is 1 credit, if you use every credit. On monthly billing it is $0.0245 on Starter, $0.0149 on Growth and $0.0120 on Scale. On yearly billing it is $0.0170, $0.0104 and $0.0084.

*Cost of one email found on each Hunter plan if you use every credit, checked October 15, 2026. Hunter publishes plan prices and credit costs, not these per-email figures, so they are our arithmetic. Source: [Hunter pricing page](https://hunter.io/pricing).*

| Plan and billing | Credits | Price | Per email found |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Starter, monthly | 2,000 | $49 | $0.0245 |
| Growth, monthly | 10,000 | $149 | $0.0149 |
| Scale, monthly | 25,000 | $299 | $0.0120 |
| Starter, yearly | 24,000 | $408 | $0.0170 |
| Growth, yearly | 120,000 | $1,248 | $0.0104 |
| Scale, yearly | 300,000 | $2,508 | $0.0084 |

A verification costs half as much, about 1.2 cents on Starter with monthly billing. Yearly billing lowers the rate by about 30%, but you pay for 12 months at once and cannot move to monthly billing during the term.

Two worked examples show the range. A rep who finds 300 emails a month fits inside Starter's 2,000 credits at $49. A team that finds 8,000 emails and verifies 4,000 more uses 8,000 plus 2,000 credits. That is 10,000 credits, the whole Growth plan at $149 on monthly billing.

## Is Hunter.io free?

Yes. [Hunter's Free plan](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/11060999-what-s-included-in-hunter-s-free-plan) has no time limit and needs no credit card. It gives 50 credits a month, enough for 50 emails found or 100 verifications.

The Free plan includes email finding, verification, bulk tools, Sequences with one connected email account, Discover, API access and unlimited team members. CSV exports are limited to 10 emails per domain. It leaves out credit packs, extra email accounts, auto-verification, lead enrichment and the AI Writing Assistant.

Hunter does not offer a traditional free trial of its paid plans. Every account starts on Free, says [Hunter's plan guide](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/1897812-the-difference-between-monthly-and-yearly-plans). The API needs a key on every call, so even light API use needs an account. One September 2026 [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/hunter.io) reviewer found the sign-up long, and Hunter replied that its verification step confirms each new account belongs to a real person.

## How much does the Hunter API cost?

The Hunter API is on every plan, Free included, and it uses the same credits as the app. [Hunter's API help page](https://help.hunter.io/integrate-hunter/hunter-api) gives the credit costs below, and the [API reference](https://hunter.io/api-documentation/v2) gives the rate limits.

| Hunter API call | Credits | Rate limit |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Domain Search | 1 for 1 to 10 emails returned | 15 a second, 500 a minute |
| Email Finder | 1, only if an email is found | 15 a second, 500 a minute |
| Email Verifier | 0.5 | 10 a second, 300 a minute |
| Enrichment (email, company, combined) | 0.2 | 15 a second, 500 a minute |
| Discover | Free | 5 a second, 50 a minute |

[Hunter's API reference](https://hunter.io/api-documentation/v2) says a key is required on every call. You can send it as an `api_key` parameter, an `X-API-KEY` header or a Bearer header. A key named `test-api-key` returns dummy data on the three main endpoints. At your usage limit the API returns 429 and tells you to upgrade. Hunter's [MCP server](https://hunter.io/mcp) works on all plans, uses the same credits, and takes your key in a header or an OAuth sign-in.

### What is Hunter's Data Platform?

Data Platform is Hunter's API-first option. You buy Search credits and Verification credits separately, from 1,000 each, and they last 12 months, says [Hunter's Data Platform guide](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/9920427-data-platform-plans-for-api-users). It includes bulk tools and API access, but not Sequences, Signals or credit packs, and Discover is API-only. The plan renews every 12 months unless you cancel. To add credits you buy a new plan, and leftover credits roll into it.

| Credits bought | Search credits | Verification credits |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1,000 | $50 | $11 |
| 10,000 | $209 | $110 |
| 50,000 | $475 | $370 |
| 100,000 | $950 | $740 |
| 500,000 | $3,650 | $1,500 |
| 1,000,000 | $6,900 | $2,800 |
| Above 1,000,000 | Custom | Custom |

**Figure 2: Price of one Hunter Data Platform search credit by volume.** Bar chart of the price per search credit on Hunter's Data Platform, which falls as volume rises: 5.00 cents at 1,000 credits for $50, 2.09 cents at 10,000 for $209, 0.95 cents at 50,000 for $475, 0.92 cents at 150,000 for $1,380, 0.73 cents at 500,000 for $3,650 and 0.69 cents at 1,000,000 for $6,900. For reference, a Growth plan credit on monthly billing is 1.49 cents.

*Price per search credit on Hunter's Data Platform at six volumes, read from the pricing page calculator on October 15, 2026, in US dollars. Credits last 12 months. The per-credit figures are our arithmetic. Sources: [Hunter pricing page](https://hunter.io/pricing), [Data Platform guide](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/9920427-data-platform-plans-for-api-users).*

Price falls in steps, so the calculator can charge more for fewer credits. On October 15, 2026 it priced 9,000 search credits at $450 and 10,000 at $209, and it suggested buying 9,999 to save. A plan costs less per email up to about 20,000 credits. Past about 250,000 credits the Data Platform rate drops below even Scale's yearly rate of 0.84 cents. These prices are in US dollars, and Hunter says euro and pound prices differ.

## What are Hunter's contract, renewal and refund terms?

Hunter plans renew on their own, and Hunter's Terms say it does not refund cancellations. Here is what [Hunter's Terms of Service](https://hunter.io/terms-of-service), last updated May 23, 2024, and the help center say. Rules about credits sit in the help center, not in the Terms.

- **Automatic renewal.** Monthly and yearly plans renew unless you cancel, and Hunter charges the card on file at the fee in force then.
- **Prepaid billing.** Fees are charged in advance, on the day you sign up for an upgrade.
- **Cancelling.** You can cancel at any time by email or in your dashboard settings. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- **Refunds.** The Terms say Hunter does not refund users who cancel, whatever the reason, and that upgrade fees are not refundable. They also say that if Hunter ends a paid account, it refunds the unused prepaid part within 30 days. In a reply on [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/hunter.io) dated September 23, 2026, Hunter said it had issued a full refund to a customer who complained about an add-on charge. Ask support before you rely on either.
- **Price changes.** Hunter can change fees after 30 days of written notice.
- **Yearly plans.** A yearly plan is a 12-month commitment with one payment at the start. All credits are available at once and expire when the 12 months end. You cannot switch to monthly billing or pause during the term, per [Hunter's plan guide](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/1897812-the-difference-between-monthly-and-yearly-plans).
- **Monthly plans.** Credits expire at the end of each month. You can pause renewal for 1, 2 or 3 months, per [Hunter's plan overview](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/6001212-hunter-all-in-one-outreach-plans), and the first renewal after a pause gets a 30% discount.
- **Changing plans.** An upgrade or downgrade applies at once and bills the new plan. [Hunter's help center](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/1897856-downgrading-or-upgrading-your-plan) says unused credits move into an extra pack that lasts 3 months from a monthly plan to a monthly plan, and 12 months from a yearly plan to a yearly plan. You cannot schedule a change for a later date.
- **Data Platform plans.** Each plan lasts 12 months and renews automatically unless you cancel.

## What hidden costs can raise a Hunter bill?

The plan price is only part of a Hunter bill. Extra credits, email accounts, add-ons and expiring credits all add to it. Check these items before you buy.

- **Extra credits cost about three times the plan rate.** [Hunter's credit-pack guide](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/11738860-credit-packs-how-to-buy-extra-credits-in-hunter) prices 1,000 credits at $70 on Starter, $52.50 on Growth and $35 on Scale. Inside the plans on monthly billing, 1,000 credits cost $24.50, $14.90 and $11.96. Packs last 3 months, only the team owner can buy them and the Free plan cannot. Auto-purchase buys a new pack when your balance reaches 0, up to a monthly cap you set.
- **Hunter's pages disagree on pack prices.** A second help article, [dated August 20, 2026](https://help.hunter.io/en/articles/9929244-can-i-buy-additional-credits-for-my-plan), lists a $10 pack of 100, 300 or 500 credits by plan. The two do not match, so read the price at checkout before you pay.
- **Email accounts and add-ons.** Plans connect 1, 3, 10 or 20 email accounts. Extra accounts start at $10 a month each, and custom domains with email accounts start at $6 a month. Inbox Protection, a warm-up add-on, starts at $7.50 a month per account on monthly billing and $6 on yearly billing. In a Trustpilot reply, Hunter said Inbox Protection is optional and that every paid plan includes Progressive Sending at no extra cost.
- **Expiring credits.** Monthly credits reset each month and do not roll over. Yearly credits expire when the 12 months end.
- **Repeat bulk jobs.** Bulk uploads always use credits, even for emails you looked up before.

## How can you spend fewer Hunter credits?

Hunter's own rules point to four habits that spend fewer credits.

- **Use bulk domain jobs for whole companies.** Bulk Domain Search charges 1 credit for 1 to 10 emails on a domain, while Domain Search in the app charges 1 per email.
- **Do not verify twice.** The [API reference](https://hunter.io/api-documentation/v2) says Email Finder runs a verification on each email it finds. Pay the 0.5 credit only for addresses that come from elsewhere.
- **Reuse saved results.** A repeat request in the same period is free, and emails revealed in Domain Search stay saved. Bulk uploads charge again.
- **Pick the billing term on purpose.** Yearly saves about 30% but locks in 12 months. Monthly lets you pause for up to 3 months.

## Is Hunter.io worth it? What do reviews say?

Hunter is well reviewed on Trustpilot. On October 15, 2026, [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/hunter.io) showed a TrustScore of 4.2 from 347 reviews, with 85% at five stars and 9% at one star. Hunter's pricing page cites 4.6 on Capterra and 4.4 on G2. Those sites did not load for us, so we could not check them.

Trustpilot's AI summary of recent reviews praises the platform and the support team. It also notes reviewers who saw underwhelming results or inaccurate data, could not search contacts by name or found sign-up long. One September 2026 reviewer called the Inbox Protection add-on a hidden fee, and Hunter replied that it is optional and listed on its pricing page. Trustpilot does not verify reviews, so weigh them as opinions.

Hunter is good value if you also use Sequences and Discover. If you only want an email inside an agent, a sheet or your own app, compare the maths below first.

## How does Hunter's price compare with Enrich.chat's credit plans?

Enrich.chat sells monthly credit plans: Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits. Every plan includes every product and unlimited seats, billed monthly with no annual contract. A work email costs 10 credits and a mobile 250, and a lookup that finds nothing uses 0 credits. Each IP also gets 10 free lookups a day without signup. Full rates are on the [pricing page](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).

Take three monthly volumes of work emails, assuming every lookup finds one. On Hunter each email is 1 credit. On Enrich.chat it is 10 credits. So 2,000 emails need 20,000 credits, 10,000 need 100,000 and 25,000 need 250,000.

| Work emails a month | Hunter, billed monthly | Hunter, billed yearly | Enrich.chat |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 2,000 | Starter, $49 | $34 a month | $29 a month (Growth plan) |
| 10,000 | Growth, $149 | $104 a month | $29 a month (Growth plan) |
| 25,000 | Scale, $299 | $209 a month | $90 a month (Scale plan) |

**Figure 3: Monthly price of 2,000, 10,000 and 25,000 work emails.** Bar chart of the monthly price of the plan that covers each volume of work emails. 2,000 emails cost $49 on Hunter Starter and $29 on the Enrich.chat Growth plan. 10,000 emails cost $149 on Hunter Growth and $29 on the Enrich.chat Growth plan. 25,000 emails cost $299 on Hunter Scale and $90 on the Enrich.chat Scale plan.

*Monthly price of the plan that covers each volume of work emails, assuming every lookup finds one. Hunter bars use monthly billing and 1 credit per email. Enrich.chat bars use 10 credits per email. Hunter's yearly billing would show $34, $104 and $209. The two services return different data and Hunter's plans include other tools, so this compares price only. Sources: [Hunter pricing page](https://hunter.io/pricing), [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).*

Price is only one input. Hunter's plans include Sequences, Discover, a Chrome extension and a Sheets add-on, and its credits also cover verification. Enrich.chat has no sequencing, extension or add-on, and its search returns people, not companies. The two services return different data, and this page makes no claim about which one finds more of your list. Hunter's credit table has no phone-number credit, while an Enrich.chat mobile number costs 250 credits.

Each Enrich.chat work email comes back as `verified`, `catch_all` or `unknown`, so you see the status of every field. Hunter's Email Finder returns `valid`, `accept_all` or `unknown`. A catch-all domain accepts every address, so a status cannot prove the mailbox exists. Our free [catch-all checker](https://enrich.chat/tools/catch-all-checker/) shows which domains behave that way, and our guide to [email bounce rate](https://enrich.chat/blog/email-bounce-rate/) explains why it matters. A LinkedIn URL works as a lookup key, and Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn. Your agent can read [agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md) or add the [MCP server](https://enrich.chat/install/).

Enrich.chat has two honest gaps next to Hunter:

- **No Chrome extension, Sheets add-on or sequencing.** Enrich.chat returns data over an API and MCP. SDKs are planned, not available.
- **No standalone email verifier and no company list by filter.** Enrich.chat marks each email it finds with a status, and its search returns people, not companies.

## When is Hunter the better choice?

Hunter is the better choice when you want email finding and cold email sending in one app, or when you work in a browser or a sheet. It has real strengths:

- **Sequences.** Plans connect 1, 3, 10 or 20 email accounts and allow 500 to 15,000 recipients per sequence, per [the pricing page](https://hunter.io/pricing).
- **Browser and sheet tools.** Hunter lists a Chrome extension, Firefox and Edge add-ons and a Google Sheets add-on, and they use the same credits.
- **Sources you can see.** [Hunter says](https://hunter.io/our-data) that Domain Search returns where and when it found each contact.
- **A free plan with an API.** Hunter's Free plan includes API access and the MCP server, within its 50 credits.
- **Company search and a verifier.** Discover finds companies by filter at no credit cost, and the Email Verifier checks any address for 0.5 credit.

If those matter more than the price per email, Hunter fits. If you only need contact fields inside an agent, a sheet your agent fills or your own app, test a small list on both. Our [Hunter.io alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/hunter-io/) page compares eight tools, the [best email finder tools](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-email-finder-tools/) ranks them, and the [email finder API](https://enrich.chat/api/email-finder/) shows the Enrich.chat calls. For other vendors, read our guides to [Apollo pricing](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-pricing/), [Lusha pricing](https://enrich.chat/blog/lusha-pricing/), [RocketReach pricing](https://enrich.chat/blog/rocketreach-pricing/) and [FullEnrich pricing](https://enrich.chat/blog/fullenrich-pricing/). To price your own list, paste this prompt into your agent:

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to find work emails for the people in the list below using their name and company website, mark anyone not found, and give me the match count and total credits_used so I can compare it with a Hunter plan: [paste name and company website per row]
```

The agent returns your rows with a status on each email and the total `credits_used`. Nothing is used for a row that is not found. Treat every contact as a strong lead, not a guarantee. You stay responsible for TCPA, CAN-SPAM and GDPR rules, and anyone can opt out at [enrich.chat/opt-out](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/). See our [terms](https://enrich.chat/terms/).

There is no separate fee. [Hunter's API](https://help.hunter.io/integrate-hunter/hunter-api) is on every plan, Free included, and uses the same credits: 1 for an email found, 0.5 for a verification and 0.2 for enrichment. ### What is a cheaper alternative to Hunter.io for 10,000 emails a month?

Hunter needs its Growth plan at $149 a month, or $104 billed yearly, for 10,000 emails. On Enrich.chat the same emails need 100,000 credits, which fits the Growth plan at $29 a month, with unlimited seats and no annual contract. Hunter's plans also include Sequences and a Chrome extension, which Enrich.chat lacks. See our [Hunter.io alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/hunter-io/).
