# Is ZoomInfo free? What the free trial, Lite and Community Edition really give you in 2026

ZoomInfo has a permanent free tier, a short free trial and free credits for builders. Here is what each one includes, what it asks you to share, and what to use when 10 credits a month is not enough.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 15, 2026.

**Short answer:** Partly. [ZoomInfo Lite](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/how-much-does-zoominfo-cost) is a permanent free tier with 10 credits a month, or 25 if you share your email contacts through Community Edition. ZoomInfo also offers a [7-day free trial](https://www.zoominfo.com/free-trial) and 1,000 free data credits on [GTM AI](https://gtm.ai/pricing). The full platform is not free: [Vendr's buyer data](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/zoominfo) puts the median contract at $33,500 a year.

## Key takeaways

- ZoomInfo Lite is free, with no card, no contract and 10 credits a month. One credit is one exported contact or company profile, so that is 10 profiles.
- Community Edition lifts Lite to 25 credits a month, but you connect your inbox or CRM, and ZoomInfo gets a perpetual license to share the business contacts it finds.
- The free trial typically lasts 7 days, needs a business email and no card, and has usage limits that ZoomInfo does not publish.
- GTM AI gives new accounts 1,000 data credits and 1,000 AI credits once, with API, MCP and CLI access, but mobile phone data is an Enterprise feature.
- Paid ZoomInfo is quoted by sales. Vendr reports a $33,500 median contract, and the lowest list price we found is $3,000 for 12 months on AWS Marketplace.

## Plans and prices

Prices as listed by ZoomInfo on October 15, 2026. [Source](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/how-much-does-zoominfo-cost). Lite and Community Edition figures are from ZoomInfo's pricing guide, the trial from its [free trial page](https://www.zoominfo.com/free-trial) and GTM AI from its [pricing page](https://gtm.ai/pricing). The full platform has no public price.

| Plan | Price | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| ZoomInfo Lite | $0 /mo | No card, no contract |
| Community | $0 /mo | Community Edition: you share contacts |
| Free trial | $0 / 7 days | Typical length, business email, no card |
| GTM AI signup | $0 once | No card |

## Is ZoomInfo free?

Partly. ZoomInfo has a permanent free tier, a short free trial and free starter credits for AI builders. None of them is the full platform, and each has a limit or a catch. The cards above list the four main routes.

On October 15, 2026, ZoomInfo's [pricing page](https://www.zoominfo.com/pricing) showed free trial buttons and a quote form, but no mention of Lite. The free tier has its own [ZoomInfo Lite page](https://www.zoominfo.com/ce). ZoomInfo's [pricing guide](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/how-much-does-zoominfo-cost) calls Lite the permanent free tier, and its [2025 annual report](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1794515/000179451526000012/zi-20251231.htm) describes Lite as a freemium product. Do not confuse it with ABM Lite, a marketing package sold by quote on the same pricing page.

The unit to know is the credit. The FAQ on ZoomInfo's pricing page says a credit is spent each time you export a contact or company profile. So Lite's 10 monthly credits mean 10 profiles. Figure 1 puts every free allowance on one scale.

**Figure 1: Free ZoomInfo credits by route.** Bar chart of the free credits each ZoomInfo route gives, checked October 15, 2026. ZoomInfo Lite gives 10 credits a month and Community Edition gives 25 a month. The ChatGPT and Claude connectors give 100 credits once. GTM AI gives 1,000 data credits once, plus 1,000 AI credits. The free trial states no credit count.

*The free credits each ZoomInfo route gives, on one scale. Lite and Community Edition renew every month. The MCP and GTM AI credits are one-time grants, and GTM AI adds 1,000 AI credits on top. ## What does ZoomInfo Lite include?

ZoomInfo Lite gives you 10 credits a month, search filters and a Chrome extension, with no card, no contract and no expiry. Those details come from ZoomInfo's [pricing guide](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/how-much-does-zoominfo-cost), updated July 7, 2026. The [Lite FAQ](https://www.zoominfo.com/faqs/community-edition) says the tier is for individual professionals and small teams. It gives no credit number, so the guide is the best source for it.

The guide lists these Lite tools:

- Advanced contact and company search, with exports inside your credits
- The ZoomInfo Chrome extension (ReachOut) and a mobile app
- WebSights Lite, which shows up to 10 website visitor reveals a day
- Email sending and a HubSpot integration

The extension is free to install. ZoomInfo's [extension page](https://zoominfo.com/zoominfo-chrome-ext) says each click on a contact uses one free credit. The [Chrome Web Store listing](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/fofjcndophjadilglgimelemjkjblgpf) says it is free for ZoomInfo customers, and the extension page says to log in with your Lite credentials.

Lite has rules on who can join and how long credits last. You need a business email, and personal Gmail or Yahoo addresses are refused. Current and past paid ZoomInfo subscribers cannot join. Credits do not roll over, and your balance refreshes on your last credit grant date, per the Lite FAQ.

ZoomInfo's [Community Edition blog](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/community-edition-promotes-fairness-protects-data), updated July 7, 2026, says what the free tier leaves out. Paid plans add the following:

| What you need | Free tier (Lite and Community Edition) | Paid ZoomInfo |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Buyer intent data | Not included | Included |
| API and MCP access | Not included | Included |
| CRM sync | Limited | Native Salesforce and HubSpot |
| Team use | One user or a very small team | Multiple seats by plan |
| Support | Self-serve | Customer success manager |

The [Lite terms](https://www.zoominfo.com/legal/ce-terms-conditions) also set rules for what you do with the data:

- **Business use only.** The data is for business-to-business sales, marketing, recruiting and business development.
- **No passing it on.** You agree not to give the data to anyone else or use it in a commercial product.
- **No bots.** The terms bar scrapers and other automated agents from searching the service, apart from ZoomInfo's own search tools. Lite is built for a person at a screen.
- **It ends when you leave.** Section 8 says that when the agreement ends, you must stop using the service and the data you got from it.

This is a summary, not legal advice. Read the terms before you rely on exported data.

## What is the catch with ZoomInfo Community Edition?

The catch is your contact data. Community Edition lifts Lite from 10 to 25 credits a month, and in return ZoomInfo reads business contacts from your inbox or CRM. ZoomInfo's own [blog](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/community-edition-promotes-fairness-protects-data) says the price is data, not money.

Here is how the exchange works, from ZoomInfo's [Lite FAQ](https://www.zoominfo.com/faqs/community-edition) and [terms](https://www.zoominfo.com/legal/ce-terms-conditions). You connect a business email (Outlook, Google or Office) or a CRM (Salesforce, Dynamics or HubSpot). Outlook users install a small Contact Contributor program, and everyone else grants sign-in access. ZoomInfo then scans signature blocks, email headers, automated replies and your contact book. Its terms say the scan is automated and that no human reads your email. The [Lite page](https://www.zoominfo.com/ce) adds that headers may also yield IP addresses.

**Figure 2: What Community Edition trades.** A three-step flow. You connect an inbox or CRM with signature blocks, email headers and a contact book. ZoomInfo Lite scans it by machine and extracts names, job titles, emails, phones and company details. The contacts go into the ZoomInfo database, which ZoomInfo's customers, community members and partners can use. In return you get 25 credits a month instead of 10, and you can uninstall or revoke access to drop back to 10.

*What you give and get when you join the Community inside ZoomInfo Lite. Sources: [ZoomInfo Lite page](https://www.zoominfo.com/ce), [Lite FAQ](https://www.zoominfo.com/faqs/community-edition) and [Community Terms of Use](https://www.zoominfo.com/legal/ce-terms-conditions), checked October 15, 2026.*

Three clauses matter before you click connect:

- **A perpetual license.** Section 2.3 gives ZoomInfo a worldwide, perpetual and irrevocable license to use, share and sell the contact data it collects, including to its customers, contractors, partners and agents.
- **Your employer's permission.** Section 2.2 says not to join if your employer does not allow it. Ask your IT or security team before you connect a work mailbox.
- **ZoomInfo can drop you.** Section 2.1 lets ZoomInfo remove you from the Community at any point, at its sole discretion.

ZoomInfo's pages describe the scan in slightly different ways. The Community Edition blog says the app takes only job title, company, work email and phone number, and never reads calendar data. The Lite page talks about connecting your email and calendar. Section 2.1 of the terms lists more fields, such as department, job changes, business addresses and website URLs. The terms are the contract, so read them first. This is not legal advice.

The people in your contact book have a say too. The Lite page says ZoomInfo sends a privacy notice to each person it adds, with steps to claim, update or remove the profile. ZoomInfo's 10-K says anyone can use its Trust Center to ask for access, opt-out or deletion. You can leave the Community yourself at any time by uninstalling the software or revoking access. You then drop back to standard Lite and keep 10 credits, per the Lite FAQ.

## How long is the ZoomInfo free trial?

ZoomInfo's [free trial page](https://www.zoominfo.com/free-trial) says it typically offers a 7-day trial to new users. It needs no credit card. You fill in a form with a business email, your full name and your job title, then verify the email.

The trial covers core platform features, with usage limits. The page names contact and company search, intent signals and email outreach, and it does not say what the limits are. Nothing is charged during the trial. You can talk to a sales rep, and you choose whether to move to a paid plan when it ends.

Length can change. ZoomInfo says terms vary with current promotions, your company size or industry, whether you work with a sales rep, and the package you try. Older outside reports differ. A December 2024 guide from [Evaboot](https://evaboot.com/blog/zoominfo-pricing) described a 2-day trial that began after a demo call. Ask the rep for the exact length and limits in writing before you rely on a trial for a decision.

A trial is not a free tier. When it ends, the next step is a quote. Our [ZoomInfo pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-pricing/) covers what buyers report paying.

## Is ZoomInfo free for developers and AI agents?

Partly. GTM AI, ZoomInfo's self-serve plan, gives every new account 1,000 data credits and 1,000 AI credits at signup, with no card. The [GTM AI pricing page](https://gtm.ai/pricing), rendered on October 15, 2026, says platform access is free and includes API, MCP and CLI access at 5 requests a second and up to 5 apps. Search, lookup and find-similar calls never spend credits.

One data credit enriches one company, contact or intent record. After the free credits, you buy top-ups from $20. On the day we read it, the page's calculator priced 5,000 data credits at $0.38 each, or $1,900, with a limited 70% discount on a first purchase. Credit prices change with the size of the top-up, and our [ZoomInfo API pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-api-pricing/) has the full tier table. AI credits cost a flat $0.05.

Two catches apply. Mobile phone data is listed only under Enterprise. And the page contradicts itself on expiry: the pricing section says credits never expire while your account is active, and the FAQ says they expire 12 months after they are granted. Plan around 12 months.

ZoomInfo's MCP route has a smaller offer. The [ZoomInfo MCP page](https://www.zoominfo.com/solutions/zoominfo-mcp) says the ChatGPT connector gives 100 credits at sign-up, and the Claude connector gives 100 AI and data credits. You sign in with a ZoomInfo account. Lite itself has no API or MCP access, per ZoomInfo's blog. Our [ZoomInfo MCP guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-mcp/) covers setup and limits.

## How far do ZoomInfo's free credits go?

Free ZoomInfo credits cover a sample, not a list. Lite's 10 credits are 120 profiles a year, and Community Edition's 25 are 300. At those rates a list of 1,000 contacts takes 100 months on Lite and 40 on Community Edition. GTM AI's 1,000 free data credits would cover 1,000 records, but they are a one-time grant and exclude mobile data.

| Option | Free allowance | Reaching 1,000 contacts |
| --- | --- | --- |
| ZoomInfo Lite | 10 credits a month | 100 months |
| Community Edition | 25 credits a month | 40 months |
| GTM AI signup | 1,000 data credits, once | Free once, then about $380 per 1,000 at $0.38 |
| Enrich.chat | 10 lookups a day per IP, no signup | 260,000 credits for emails and mobiles: the Scale plan at $90 a month |

Figure 3 turns the paid side into a price per contact. A ZoomInfo credit is one exported profile. An Enrich.chat credit pays for one field found, so a work email and a mobile together cost 10 plus 250 credits. The comparison is not like for like. It shows only what one record or field costs if you use every credit.

**Figure 3: Price of one record if every credit is used.** Bar chart of what one record or field costs if every credit in a plan is used, checked October 15, 2026. ZoomInfo Lite has no price but is capped at 10 credits a month. ZoomInfo Sales Basic costs $1.50 a credit, from $3,000 for 2,000 credits. GTM AI costs $0.38 a credit on its default calculator. On the Enrich.chat Growth plan, a mobile costs $0.0725 and a work email costs $0.0029.

*The price of one record or field if you use every credit you buy. A ZoomInfo credit is one exported profile with the fields your plan returns, and an Enrich.chat credit pays for one field found, so this is not like for like. Sales Basic is the AWS Marketplace list price for 12 months, one user and 2,000 bulk credits. GTM AI is the default calculator, before a 70% first-purchase offer, and excludes mobile data. Enrich.chat is the Growth plan, $29 for 100,000 credits. ## What does ZoomInfo cost when the free tier runs out?

Paid ZoomInfo is quoted by sales and billed annually. ZoomInfo's pricing page lists no prices, and its [pricing guide](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/how-much-does-zoominfo-cost) says paid plans are custom-quoted and monthly billing is not standard. Three public price points show the size of the jump from free:

- **Vendr's buyer data.** The median ZoomInfo contract is $33,500 a year across 1,577 purchases, with deals from $7,240 to $156,042, per [Vendr](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/zoominfo). The page was last updated in February 2026.
- **The lowest list price we found.** [ZoomInfo Sales Basic on AWS Marketplace](https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-ckg6rmyo3zsmw) costs $3,000 for 12 months, for one user and 2,000 bulk credits. The listing says ZoomInfo does not support refunds.
- **GTM AI credits.** After the free credits, the default calculator priced data credits at $0.38 each, with no contract and no seat fees.

Contracts are long. ZoomInfo's [2025 annual report](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1794515/000179451526000012/zi-20251231.htm) says subscriptions typically run one to three years and are non-cancelable, and about 53% of contract value sits in multi-year deals. Lite is the exception: the pricing guide says it has no contract, no auto-renewal and no cancellation process. Our [ZoomInfo pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-pricing/) covers renewal terms. The [Apollo vs ZoomInfo](https://enrich.chat/compare/apollo-vs-zoominfo/) and [Clay vs ZoomInfo](https://enrich.chat/compare/clay-vs-zoominfo/) pages show how the paid plans compare.

## Which free tools give more than ZoomInfo Lite?

Several tools give more free credits each month than Lite's 10, but credits are not the same unit across vendors. This table shows each free plan as listed on October 15, 2026, and what a phone number costs in credits.

| Tool | Free plan | A phone number costs |
| --- | --- | --- |
| [ZoomInfo Lite](https://www.zoominfo.com/ce) | 10 credits a month, 25 with Community Edition | 1 credit per exported profile |
| [Lusha Free](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) | 40 credits a month, 1 seat | 5 credits |
| [Apollo Free](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) | 900 credits a seat a year, granted monthly | 8 credits |
| [Clay Free](https://www.clay.com/pricing) | 100 data credits a month | Not on the Free plan |
| [LeadIQ Free](https://leadiq.com/pricing) | 1 user, 50 credits | 10 credits |
| Enrich.chat | 10 lookups a day per IP, no signup | 250 credits on a plan, 0 when nothing is found |

Our guides to [Lusha pricing](https://enrich.chat/blog/lusha-pricing/) and [Apollo pricing](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-pricing/) explain those credits, and the [ZoomInfo alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/zoominfo/) page lists more.

### Where Enrich.chat fits

Enrich.chat suits the case where an AI agent or an app needs the data. Each IP gets 10 free lookups a day with no signup, and nothing is used when a lookup finds nothing. For more volume there are monthly credit plans: Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits. Every plan has unlimited seats, every product and no annual contract. A work email costs 10 credits and a mobile 250. A list of 1,000 people with an email and a mobile each needs 260,000 credits if all are found, which fits the Scale plan at $90 a month. Full rates are on the [pricing page](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).

Your agent adds the MCP server at enrich.chat/mcp, or reads [agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md) once and calls a plain HTTPS API from ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, n8n or your own code. The [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/) has the steps. A LinkedIn profile URL works as a lookup key, and Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn. Each work email comes back as verified, catch_all or unknown, and each mobile has a line type of mobile or unknown. To try one lookup in a browser, use the free [LinkedIn email and phone finder](https://enrich.chat/tools/linkedin-email-finder/).

Enrich.chat has two honest gaps next to ZoomInfo:

- **No Chrome extension, dialer or intent data.** Enrich.chat returns contact and company data, and you bring your own outreach tool. If you sell on buying signals, read our [intent data guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/intent-data/).
- **No visual search app, and SDKs are only planned.** You call the HTTPS API or the MCP server. A rep working at a screen may prefer ZoomInfo's app.

To see how far free credits would stretch on your own list, paste this into your agent:

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to find a work email and a mobile for each person on my list, mark misses as not found, flag catch_all emails as risky, and tell me how many matched and the total credits_used, so I can see if ZoomInfo's free credits would cover it: [paste name and company, or a LinkedIn URL, per row]
```

## When is ZoomInfo's free tier the better choice?

ZoomInfo's free tier is the better choice when one person wants to test ZoomInfo's data on a few accounts, in a browser. ZoomInfo's own pricing guide makes the same point: start on Lite to check usage and data quality before you negotiate a contract. It fits in these cases:

- **You want a sample before a quote.** Run 10 of your own target accounts through Lite and compare the results with what you already have. Our guide to [direct dials](https://enrich.chat/blog/direct-dials/) explains what to check on phone numbers.
- **One rep prospects from LinkedIn and company sites.** The Chrome extension shows contact details inline, and a few reveals a month may be enough.
- **You need things Enrich.chat does not have.** The free trial lets you see ZoomInfo's intent signals and email outreach before you pay for them.
- **You already pay for ZoomInfo.** Use the credits in your contract first, and add another source only for the gaps.

Free is not enough once you need more than a few dozen contacts a month, an API, shared team use or mobile data at volume. Then compare a quote with the monthly plans in our list of the [best B2B data providers](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-b2b-data-providers/).

## Frequently asked questions

### Is there a free version of ZoomInfo?

Yes, but it is limited. [ZoomInfo Lite](https://www.zoominfo.com/ce) is a permanent free tier with no card and no contract. ZoomInfo's [pricing guide](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/how-much-does-zoominfo-cost), updated July 7, 2026, says it includes 10 credits a month, or 25 with Community Edition, and each credit is one contact or company export. You need a business email, and current or past paid subscribers cannot join.

### How long is the ZoomInfo free trial?

ZoomInfo's [free trial page](https://www.zoominfo.com/free-trial) says it typically offers a 7-day trial to new users. No credit card is needed, but you must give a business email, your name and your job title. The trial covers core features with usage limits and ends on its own. Length can change with promotions, company size, sales rep involvement and package, so confirm it when you sign up.

### What is the catch with ZoomInfo Community Edition?

You pay with your contacts. To get 25 credits a month instead of 10, you connect your inbox or CRM, and ZoomInfo extracts business contact details from signature blocks, headers and your contact book. The [Lite terms](https://www.zoominfo.com/legal/ce-terms-conditions) give ZoomInfo a perpetual, irrevocable license to share that data with customers and partners. You can drop back to standard Lite at any time and keep 10 credits.

### Is the ZoomInfo API free?

Not on Lite. ZoomInfo's [Community Edition blog](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/community-edition-promotes-fairness-protects-data) lists API and MCP access as paid features. The exception is [GTM AI](https://gtm.ai/pricing), ZoomInfo's self-serve plan: new accounts get 1,000 data credits and 1,000 AI credits once, with API, MCP and CLI access and no card. After that, credits are sold from $20, and mobile phone data is an Enterprise feature. See our [ZoomInfo API pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-api-pricing/).

### What is a free alternative to ZoomInfo?

It depends on the job. On October 15, 2026, [Lusha](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) offered 40 free credits a month, [Clay](https://www.clay.com/pricing) 100 data credits a month, and [Apollo](https://www.apollo.io/pricing) 900 credits a seat a year. Enrich.chat gives each IP 10 free lookups a day with no signup, then monthly plans: Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits. Our [ZoomInfo alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/zoominfo/) page compares more tools.

### Can I use ZoomInfo for free in ChatGPT or Claude?

For a small test, yes. [ZoomInfo's MCP page](https://www.zoominfo.com/solutions/zoominfo-mcp) says the ChatGPT connector gives 100 free credits at sign-up and the Claude connector gives 100 AI and data credits. You sign in with a ZoomInfo account. Enrich.chat's MCP server at enrich.chat/mcp needs no key, and each IP gets 10 free lookups a day. Our [ZoomInfo MCP guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-mcp/) covers setup.
