# Technographic data providers compared: who sells what, how they say they detect it and what it costs

Nine providers, from BuiltWith and Wappalyzer to ZoomInfo, 6sense and HG Insights, compared on pricing model, what each measures and how each says it finds technologies. Enrich.chat is pick 1 for one narrow job, and we list what it leaves out.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 16, 2026.

**Short answer:** Technographic data providers sell in two ways. [BuiltWith](https://builtwith.com/plans) ($295 to $995 a month), Wappalyzer, TheirStack and PredictLeads publish prices. ZoomInfo, 6sense, Demandbase and HG Insights sell by quote, and [Vendr's buyer data](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/zoominfo) reports median contracts of $33,500 to $90,000 a year. For one company's stack from an agent, Enrich.chat is pick 1.

## Key takeaways

- Four of the nine providers publish dollar prices, from free tiers to BuiltWith's $995 a month. ZoomInfo, 6sense, Demandbase and HG Insights sell by quote, and Vendr reports medians of $33,500 to $90,000 a year for the whole platform (checked October 16, 2026).
- Providers say they read different places. BuiltWith and Wappalyzer name website code, TheirStack names job posts, and PredictLeads names script tags, DNS records, IP ranges, cookies and job descriptions. HG Insights, Demandbase and 6sense do not name their sources in detail.
- Only some return dates, confidence or spend. BuiltWith, TheirStack and PredictLeads list first and last dates, and BuiltWith, HG Insights and Demandbase describe spend estimates.
- Technology counts are not comparable. HG Insights and PredictLeads each give two different counts on their own pages, so test on accounts you know.
- Enrich.chat returns names and categories for one domain, using 5 credits when a stack is found. It has no site lists, dates, spend estimates or confidence score.

## The verdict

For one company's stack from an AI agent or your own code, **Enrich.chat** is pick 1: one domain in, technology names and categories out. If you need lists of sites by technology, dates or spend estimates, choose one of the providers below that sells them.

- Pick 1 for one domain by API or agent: Enrich.chat (Names and categories, free to start)
- Best for lists, history and web spend: BuiltWith (Lists API, dates, confidence, spend)
- Best for back-office tools: TheirStack (Reads job posts, $109 per 1,000 companies)
- Best for evidence on each detection: PredictLeads (Dates, score and source count)
- Best for enterprise installs and IT spend: HG Insights (Quote only, two-year standard term)

## Nine technographic data providers, with Enrich.chat as pick 1

Enrich.chat is pick 1 for one narrow job: one company's stack, by API or agent. The other nine are ordered by how they are sold, from self-serve tools to quote-only platforms. Prices and claims come from each vendor's own pages, checked October 16, 2026.

### Enrich.chat

Contact and company data for AI agents and apps. `GET /v1/company/tech` returns one domain's technologies with a category for each, and the same API finds the people at that company.

- Best for: An agent or app that needs one company's stack, then its contacts
- Pricing: Plans from $29 a month with 100,000 credits. A stack found uses 5 credits, and a lookup that finds nothing uses 0
- Strength: One prompt in ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor, or the remote MCP server, with no key to start
- Strength: Every match returns `credits_used`, and a miss costs nothing
- Strength: Unlimited seats, billed monthly, no annual contract
- Watch out for: One domain per request, plus company search for companies in its records that use a tool; no web-wide site lists
- Watch out for: Names and categories only: no first or last seen dates, history, confidence score or spend estimate, and no browser extension

### BuiltWith

A web index that lists the technologies on a site, who else uses them and how that has changed over 18 or more years.

- Best for: Lists of sites by technology, trends, change alerts and web spend
- Pricing: [Plans page](https://builtwith.com/plans): Basic $295, Pro $495 and Team $995 a month. The API is billed apart: [x402](https://api.builtwith.com/x402-api) lookups cost $0.0495 each in USDC
- Strength: [The Domain API](https://api.builtwith.com/domain-api) returns a 0 to 1 confidence score, first and last detected dates and an average monthly tech spend
- Strength: [The Lists API](https://api.builtwith.com/lists-api) returns the websites that use a technology
- Strength: MCP tools, plus an x402 route that needs no account
- Watch out for: Basic covers 2 technologies; unlimited technologies start at Pro, $495 a month
- Watch out for: The API needs a login and key, or a USDC wallet for pay-per-call. It reads public web pages, so tools with no trace there can be missed

### Wappalyzer

Technology lookups, lead lists by technology and free browser extensions.

- Best for: Browser research and lead lists by technology
- Pricing: [Pricing page](https://www.wappalyzer.com/pricing/): Pro $250, Business $450 and Enterprise from $850 a month. The lookup API starts at Business
- Strength: [The lookup API](https://www.wappalyzer.com/docs/api/v2/lookup/) adds versions, a confirmation timestamp and a traffic rank, and can return up to 12 months of monthly history
- Strength: Business includes 20,000 API credits and unlimited lead-list technology targets
- Watch out for: Pro includes no API credits, and credits that come with a plan expire after 60 days
- Watch out for: Its [FAQs](https://www.wappalyzer.com/faq/) say reselling or sharing the data is prohibited

### TheirStack

Infers technologies from job postings, so it can name tools that a website never shows.

- Best for: Back-office tools and hiring signals
- Pricing: [Pricing page](https://theirstack.com/en/pricing): 1,000 company credits cost $109 one time and roll over for 12 months. API plans start at $49 a month for 1,500 credits, and a [technographics lookup](https://theirstack.com/en/docs/pricing/credits) uses 3
- Strength: [Each technology shows its evidence](https://theirstack.com/en/docs/data/technographic/how-we-source-tech-stack-data): first and last date found, plus a low, medium or high confidence level
- Strength: MCP server on every API plan, and unlimited team members
- Watch out for: A tool appears only when a job post names it. Its docs say a missing mention is not proof that a tool is absent
- Watch out for: Its docs say coverage inherits the biases of its job data

### PredictLeads

Technology detections that list script tags, DNS records, IP ranges, cookies and job descriptions as sources, each with dates, a score and a source count.

- Best for: Change tracking and evidence you can audit, by API, files, webhooks or MCP
- Pricing: [Pricing page](https://predictleads.com/pricing): 100 free API credits a month, then $0.04 a credit for 101 to 5,000 calls (a $40 minimum), falling to $0.002 above 500,000. One call can return up to 1,000 records
- Strength: [Detections](https://predictleads.com/technologies) include first and last seen dates, a score, a source count and a behind-the-firewall flag
- Strength: Reverse lookup of companies by technology, and one credit per request however many records come back
- Watch out for: Credits expire each period with no rollover, and reaching the limit returns a 402 error
- Watch out for: Its own pages give two technology counts: 240K+ tracked on one, 73,189 live on another

### Crustdata

A company API with a beta technographics add-on. It says it detects technologies from web signals and job postings, and returns the evidence for each.

- Best for: Developers who want search, enrichment and technology filters in one API
- Pricing: [Technographics guide](https://docs.crustdata.com/guides/technographics): $20 in free credits; technographics adds 2 credits per company to a base of 2. Enterprise plans start at four figures a month, and the [pricing page](https://crustdata.com/pricing) lists no dollar rate per credit
- Strength: Each technology lists its sources, categories and evidence with a confidence value
- Strength: Company Search filters by technology to build lists, and there is an [MCP server and Claude Code plugin](https://docs.crustdata.com/for-agents/claude-plugin)
- Watch out for: Beta: a gated add-on that needs field-level permission, and its credit amounts may change
- Watch out for: Individual technologies are not timestamped, only the company record

### HG Insights

Enterprise technographics: installs labeled current, historical or inferred, plus modeled IT spend and cloud spend, sold as HG Copilots.

- Best for: Large software vendors sizing markets and displacing rival products
- Pricing: [Its pricing guide](https://hginsights.com/pricing/) lists seats, credits and modules and no dollar amounts. [Vendr](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/hg-insights) reports a median of $90,000 a year across 46 purchases
- Strength: [Labels each install current, historical or inferred](https://hginsights.com/blog/why-low-cost-technographic-data-can-undermine-gtm-performance/) and says it models IT spend and monthly cloud spend
- Strength: [An MCP server](https://hginsights.com/product/hg-mcp-server) that works with Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor
- Watch out for: The standard term is two years; a one-year term costs more, and quarterly billing adds a premium
- Watch out for: The MCP server needs an API key that an administrator creates

### ZoomInfo

A contact, company and intent platform with technographics as one data type, plus GTM AI for self-serve credits.

- Best for: Teams that already use ZoomInfo and want technology filters next to contacts
- Pricing: [Its pricing page](https://www.zoominfo.com/pricing) lists no dollar amounts. [Vendr](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/zoominfo) reports a median of $33,500 a year across 1,577 purchases. [GTM AI](https://gtm.ai/pricing) sells data credits with $20 top-ups
- Strength: Says its [technographic data](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/technographics) covers 30,000+ technologies in 200+ categories
- Strength: CRM enrichment, API and MCP from one vendor
- Watch out for: Its pricing FAQ files technographics under advanced credits, and package prices are quote only
- Watch out for: Its public pages do not show how a technology is dated or scored

### 6sense

An account-based platform that lists technographics in all three Sales Intelligence packages, next to intent and predictive scoring.

- Best for: ABM teams that want technology fit scored with intent
- Pricing: [Its pricing page](https://6sense.com/pricing/) shows no dollar amounts. [Vendr](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/6sense) reports a median of $62,220 a year across 386 purchases
- Strength: Says it tracks over 40,000 technologies and [validates technographics bi-weekly](https://6sense.com/platform/b2b-buyer-data/)
- Strength: Technology segments sit beside intent, buying stage and contacts
- Watch out for: Technographics come inside a Sales Intelligence package, with contacts bought through credits
- Watch out for: Its data page does not say how technologies are detected

### Demandbase

An account-based platform whose technographics, built on its 2021 DemandMatrix deal, add next-purchase and IT spend insights.

- Best for: ABM teams that want technology filters, intent and advertising together
- Pricing: [Its pricing page](https://www.demandbase.com/pricing/): a platform fee plus a flat fee per user, with no dollar amounts. [Vendr](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/demandbase) reports a median of $68,591 a year across 187 purchases
- Strength: Says it covers 48K+ front-end and back-end technologies on 136M+ domains
- Strength: [Technographics work](https://www.demandbase.com/products/account-intelligence/technographics/) as filters for segments and account lists, and for enrichment
- Watch out for: No standalone price, and Vendr says annual contracts are standard
- Watch out for: The claim to find technologies behind the firewall is the vendor's own, and the page gives no method

## What kinds of technographic data providers are there?

Technographic data providers fall into four groups: web scanners, job-post readers, multi-signal API vendors and quote-only platforms. Each group sees a different part of a company's stack, so the group matters more than the brand. We read each vendor's own pages on October 16, 2026.

- **Web scanners.** [BuiltWith](https://builtwith.com/plans) and [Wappalyzer](https://www.wappalyzer.com/faq/) read public website code. They suit front-end tools and lists of sites by technology.
- **Job-post readers.** [TheirStack](https://theirstack.com/en/docs/data/technographic/how-we-source-tech-stack-data) infers tools from job postings, so it can name tools that a website never shows.
- **Multi-signal API vendors.** [PredictLeads](https://predictleads.com/technologies) and [Crustdata](https://docs.crustdata.com/guides/technographics) blend website signals, job posts and other records, and sell by API, files or credits. [Coresignal](https://coresignal.com/alternative-data/technographic-data/) is a third such vendor, covered at the end.
- **Quote-only platforms.** [HG Insights](https://hginsights.com/hg-insights-answers/), [ZoomInfo](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/technographics), [6sense](https://6sense.com/platform/b2b-buyer-data/) and [Demandbase](https://www.demandbase.com/products/account-intelligence/technographics/) bundle technographics with spend models, intent and contacts, on annual or longer contracts.

Our guide to [technographic data](https://enrich.chat/blog/technographic-data/) explains what the term means and why a detection is evidence, not proof. It also covers independent tests of website detection. Every figure a vendor gives about itself below is a claim, not a result.

## How much do technographic data providers cost?

Four of the nine publish dollar prices, Crustdata publishes credit costs, and four platforms sell by quote. For those four, [Vendr's buyer pages](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/zoominfo) report median contracts of $33,500 to $90,000 a year. Those medians cover whole platforms with contacts, intent and seats, so they are not the price of the technology data alone.

**Figure 1: Twelve-month cost of published plans next to reported median contracts.** A bar chart in dollars over twelve months. Published plans, at twelve times the monthly price: Enrich.chat Growth $29 a month, Wappalyzer Pro $250, BuiltWith Basic $295, Wappalyzer Business $450 and BuiltWith Team $995 a month, all below $12,000 a year. Median contracts per year reported by Vendr: ZoomInfo $33,500, 6sense $62,220, Demandbase $68,591 and HG Insights $90,000. The quoted platforms bundle contacts, intent and seats.

*Two price tiers, not a like-for-like ranking. Top bars show twelve months of each listed monthly price, from [Wappalyzer](https://www.wappalyzer.com/pricing/), [BuiltWith](https://builtwith.com/plans), [its Team plan](https://builtwith.com/plans) and [Enrich.chat](https://enrich.chat/pricing/). Bottom bars are median buyer contracts for whole platforms, from Vendr's buyer pages for [ZoomInfo](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/zoominfo), [6sense](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/6sense), [Demandbase](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/demandbase) and [HG Insights](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/hg-insights). For more on BuiltWith's plans, read our [BuiltWith pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/builtwith-pricing/). For Cognism, which sells technology filters inside a contact platform, see the [Cognism pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/cognism-pricing/).

## What does each technographic data provider measure?

Every provider names technologies. What differs is what comes with each name: dates, a confidence level, evidence, spend and company facts. The table lists what each vendor's own docs or pages show, so a blank means the pages we read do not say.

| Provider | Technology signals | Dates and confidence | Spend | Company facts |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [BuiltWith](https://api.builtwith.com/domain-api) | Web technologies; 127,827 listed on its plans page | First and last detected; confidence from 0 to 1 | Average monthly tech spend; ecommerce revenue estimate | Location, listed contact names, emails and titles |
| [Wappalyzer](https://www.wappalyzer.com/docs/api/v2/lookup/) | Website technologies with versions and CPE identifiers | Confirmed date; up to 12 months of monthly history; low-confidence results dropped by default | None listed | Optional company, email, phone and social fields |
| [TheirStack](https://theirstack.com/en/docs/data/technographic/how-we-source-tech-stack-data) | Technologies named in job posts | First and last date found; low, medium or high | None listed | Location, industry and size with each company |
| [PredictLeads](https://predictleads.com/technologies) | Script tags, DNS records, IP ranges, cookies and job descriptions | First and last seen; score; source count; behind-the-firewall flag | Price data per technology | Job openings, news and financing events |
| [Crustdata](https://docs.crustdata.com/guides/technographics) | Web signals and job postings, with categories and evidence | Confidence per evidence entry; one refresh date per company, none per technology | None listed | Firmographics, headcount and funding from the Company API |
| [HG Insights](https://hginsights.com/hg-insights-answers/) | Installs labeled current, historical or inferred; technology use by business function | Install status labels | Modeled IT spend; monthly IaaS and PaaS cloud spend estimates | Firmographics, hierarchy and TrustRadius-based intent |
| [ZoomInfo](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/technographics) | 30,000+ technologies in 200+ categories, per its guide | Not stated; says signals refresh continuously | Department budgets, in advanced credits | Company and contact data, intent |
| [6sense](https://6sense.com/platform/b2b-buyer-data/) | 40,000+ technologies, validated bi-weekly | Not stated | Not stated | Intent, buying stage, contacts |
| [Demandbase](https://www.demandbase.com/products/account-intelligence/technographics/) | 48K+ front-end and back-end technologies | Not stated | IT spend, revenue potential, next technology purchase | Firmographics, intent, advertising |
| [Enrich.chat](https://enrich.chat/api/company-enrichment/) | Technology names with a category, for one domain | None returned | None returned | Company profile and people, through other endpoints |

Cloud and infrastructure data is thinner. PredictLeads reads DNS records and IP ranges, and HG Insights sells monthly cloud spend estimates for hosting and CDN products through its Cloud Dynamics data. The BuiltWith Domain API tags hosting, mail and name-server records. Job-post signals come from TheirStack, PredictLeads, Crustdata and, per the last section, Coresignal.

## How does each technographic data provider say it detects technologies?

Providers read one or more of four places: website code, DNS and network records, job posts, and other records such as documents or partner data. Figure 2 shows which of those each vendor names on its own pages. Everything in this section is what the vendors say, not what we measured.

**Figure 2: What each vendor says it reads to find technologies.** A grid of six vendors and four places a technology can be found: page code, DNS and IP records, job posts and browser extension data. BuiltWith names page code. Wappalyzer names page code and extension data. TheirStack names job posts. PredictLeads names page code, DNS and IP records and job posts. Crustdata names web signals and job posts. ZoomInfo names website source code and job posts. HG Insights, Demandbase, 6sense and Cognism do not name their sources in detail.

*What each vendor says it reads. A dot is the vendor's claim, not a test of how well it works. Sources: [BuiltWith](https://builtwith.com/plans), [Wappalyzer](https://www.wappalyzer.com/faq/), [TheirStack](https://theirstack.com/en/docs/data/technographic/how-we-source-tech-stack-data), [PredictLeads](https://predictleads.com/technologies), [Crustdata](https://docs.crustdata.com/guides/technographics), [ZoomInfo](https://www.zoominfo.com/data-sources), [HG Insights](https://hginsights.com/hg-insights-answers/), [Demandbase](https://www.demandbase.com/products/account-intelligence/technographics/), [6sense](https://6sense.com/platform/b2b-buyer-data/) and [Cognism](https://www.cognism.com/pricing).*

**Website readers.** [BuiltWith](https://builtwith.com/plans) says it indexes the internet the way a search engine does and takes no data from third parties. [Wappalyzer](https://www.wappalyzer.com/faq/) says it combines limited browser-extension data with its own crawlers and aims to re-verify each technology at least once a month. [PredictLeads](https://predictleads.com/technologies) lists script tags, DNS records, IP ranges, cookies and job descriptions. [Crustdata](https://docs.crustdata.com/guides/technographics) says it detects technologies from a company's web presence and its job postings, and returns the evidence for each.

**Job-post readers.** [TheirStack](https://theirstack.com/en/docs/data/technographic/how-we-source-tech-stack-data) infers technologies from job titles, descriptions and URLs, and says a technology that is not mentioned is not proof of absence. [ZoomInfo](https://www.zoominfo.com/data-sources) says it reads website source code, has data partners capture job postings, and runs machine learning over public information on 28 million sites and domains a day.

**Blended and less specific.** [HG Insights](https://hginsights.com/hg-insights-answers/) says it analyzes signals from a technology sensor network, public sources and proprietary documents, checks them with machine learning and human review, and does not rely only on web scraping or digital signatures. [Demandbase](https://www.demandbase.com/products/account-intelligence/technographics/) says it uses AI, extra data signals and its large database to find technologies behind the firewall, and its 2021 release said its technographics were [powered by DemandMatrix](https://www.demandbase.com/press-release/demandbase-signs-definitive-agreement-acquire-insideview-and-demandmatrix/). [6sense](https://6sense.com/platform/b2b-buyer-data/) names bi-weekly validation but no sources on its data page, and a [2023 6sense blog post](https://6sense.com/blog/technographics/) lists surveys, mining of page source and buying data from software providers as the usual methods.

**Counts are not comparable.** BuiltWith lists 127,827 technologies, Demandbase 48K+, 6sense 40,000+ and ZoomInfo 30,000+. HG Insights gives 70,000+ products on its [answers page](https://hginsights.com/hg-insights-answers/) and 20K+ in its [methodology brief](https://hginsights.com/resource/briefs-guides/hg-insights-data-quality-methodology/). PredictLeads gives 240K+ technologies tracked on one page and 73,189 live on its [blog](https://predictleads.com/blog/technographic-data-providers). Vendors count differently, even inside one site, so a larger number says little about hits on your accounts. HG Insights also reports 90% accuracy, a figure its pages do not tie to an outside test. Our [technographic data guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/technographic-data/) covers the independent tests.

## Which technographic data provider fits which job?

Match the provider to the job before you compare prices. Figure 3 asks five questions in order. A yes names the providers whose own pages describe that capability, and you may need more than one.

**Figure 3: Which kind of technographic data provider fits which need.** A five-step question flow. If you need one company's stack from an agent or code, Enrich.chat fits. If you need every site or company that uses a technology, BuiltWith, Wappalyzer, PredictLeads and Crustdata fit. If you need back-office tools a website never shows, TheirStack, PredictLeads and Crustdata fit because they read job posts. If you need IT or cloud spend estimates, HG Insights, Demandbase and BuiltWith for web spend fit. If you need technology fit scored with intent, ads and contacts, 6sense, Demandbase and ZoomInfo fit.

*Which provider fits which need. Read down: a yes names providers whose own pages describe that capability. It is a fit, not a ranking, and many teams need two. Sources: the vendor pages in Figures 1 and 2.*

Many teams pair a web scanner for front-end tools with a job-post reader for back-office tools. If a web scan returns no CRM or ERP for a company, that does not mean it has none. Our [guide to what technology a website uses](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-technology-does-a-website-use/) and the [CMS detection guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-cms-does-a-website-use/) show what a public page can and cannot reveal. For timing signals that technographics do not cover, see the [intent data providers](https://enrich.chat/blog/intent-data-providers/) list.

## What should you check before you buy a technographic data provider?

Check the method, the fields, the price of lists, the refresh and credit rules, and the hit rate on accounts you know. The list below combines advice from [ColdIQ](https://coldiq.com/blog/best-technographic-data-apis), [Crustdata](https://crustdata.com/blog/technographic-data-providers) and [HG Insights](https://hginsights.com/blog/why-low-cost-technographic-data-can-undermine-gtm-performance/) with the vendor facts above.

1. **Ask which method produced each detection.** ColdIQ says to drop any vendor that will not say. A record that shows its source, like PredictLeads' source count or Crustdata's evidence list, lets you judge it.
2. **Look at the fields on one record.** Do you get first and last dates, a confidence level and evidence? Crustdata dates only the company record, and HG Insights says a historical install can be 14 months old, so ask how age is shown.
3. **Price lookups and lists separately.** ColdIQ says discovery is where budgets go. TheirStack charges 3 API credits for a company's technologies and 1 per job, and PredictLeads bills discovery per company returned.
4. **Read the refresh and credit rules.** Wappalyzer's plan credits expire after 60 days, PredictLeads' monthly, TheirStack's after 12 months. Crustdata says its database records refresh every 1 to 30 days, and Wappalyzer aims to re-verify technologies monthly.
5. **Test on 20 to 50 accounts you know.** ColdIQ suggests twenty. [ZoomInfo's provider guide](https://pipeline.zoominfo.com/sales/b2b-technographic-data-providers) tells buyers to request a sample pull against their own ideal customer profile. Count hits and false positives.
6. **Check the license and the contract.** Wappalyzer's FAQs prohibit reselling its data, BuiltWith's API docs bar reselling it as is, and HG Insights' standard term is two years.
7. **Check agent access.** Several vendors run MCP servers, but sign-in, API keys and plans differ: Wappalyzer needs an account with an API key, 6sense needs a license, and HG Insights needs an administrator's key.

Also keep in mind that a detection is a lead to check. Our guide to [B2B data decay](https://enrich.chat/blog/b2b-data-decay/) explains why old records mislead, and the [ideal customer profile guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/ideal-customer-profile/) shows how to turn technology fit into filters.

## How do you get a company's tech stack from Enrich.chat?

Send the company's web domain to `GET /v1/company/tech`. Enrich.chat returns the technologies for that domain with a category for each, or `found` false and no charge. The free tier needs no key and no signup, and the [MCP server](https://enrich.chat/install/) works in Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other agents.

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to check the tech stack of each company website below. Flag the accounts that use Salesforce or HubSpot, say not found for any with no result, list technologies and categories exactly as returned, do not add dates, spend or confidence scores, and give me the total credits used: [paste company websites]
```

Behind that prompt, your agent makes a plain GET request like this one. The response is illustrative.

```
GET https://enrich.chat/v1/company/tech?domain=acme.com
{
  "found": true,
  "domain": "acme.com",
  "company": "Acme Logistics",
  "technologies": [
    {"name": "Google Workspace", "category": "Email"},
    {"name": "HubSpot", "category": "CRM"},
    {"name": "Stripe", "category": "Payments"}
  ],
  "credits_used": 5,
  "free_lookups_remaining": 9
}
```

A stack found uses 5 credits, and a lookup with `found` false uses 0. A list of 2,000 target accounts, checked once, uses 10,000 credits if every domain matches. That fits the Growth plan at $29 a month. Your agent should send about one request a second. Each IP address also gets 10 free lookups a day with no signup, and the free [tech stack lookup tool](https://enrich.chat/tools/tech-stack-lookup/) gives 10 checks shared across the website tools. See [pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) for every plan.

Once an account passes your technology filter, the [company enrichment API](https://enrich.chat/api/company-enrichment/) and [people search API](https://enrich.chat/api/people-search/) find the people there. The [Enrich.chat for AI agents](https://enrich.chat/agents/) page covers setup, and the agent docs at [agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md) list every endpoint.

### What does Enrich.chat leave out?

- **No web-wide lists.** It checks one domain per request. Company search can list companies in its records that use a tool, 25 to a page, but it cannot list every site or company on the web that uses a technology. For well-known examples, browse the [companies using directory](https://enrich.chat/companies-using/).
- **No dates, history or scores.** It returns names and categories only. There are no first or last seen dates, install dates, confidence score or spend estimate, and no browser extension.
- **A website, not a name.** The company must be a web domain. Company names alone are not supported.
- **A signal, not a fact.** Like every source on this page, a result is something to check before you write it into an email.

## When is another provider the better choice than Enrich.chat?

Another provider is the better choice when you need lists, history, evidence on each detection, spend estimates or technology fit scored with intent. Enrich.chat does none of those.

- **BuiltWith** fits lists of sites by technology, trend history and web spend. Its [Domain API](https://api.builtwith.com/domain-api) returns dates, a confidence score and a spend figure, and its [Lists API](https://api.builtwith.com/lists-api) returns the sites on a technology. See our [BuiltWith alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/builtwith/).
- **Wappalyzer** fits browser research with free extensions and lead lists by technology. See the [Wappalyzer alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/wappalyzer/).
- **TheirStack, PredictLeads and Crustdata** fit back-office tools and detections you want to audit. They read job posts and attach dates, scores or evidence, which Enrich.chat does not return.
- **HG Insights** fits large software vendors that need install labels, IT spend and cloud spend, and can buy on a two-year term.
- **ZoomInfo, 6sense and Demandbase** fit teams that want technology fit scored next to intent, ads and a large contact base, and that buy on annual contracts. See our guides to [ZoomInfo](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-zoominfo/) and [6sense](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-6sense/), and the [best sales intelligence tools](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-sales-intelligence-tools/).

## What about Coresignal, Cognism, Slintel and Datanyze?

Coresignal sells technographic records among other web data, Cognism lists technology usage in its prospecting plans, 6sense bought Slintel in 2021 and ZoomInfo bought Datanyze in 2018. None of the four gets a pick card, because the pages we could read gave less to compare.

- **Coresignal.** Its [pricing page](https://coresignal.com/pricing/) lists API plans from $49 a month for 2,500 credits to $5,000 for 10 million, a company record at 10 credits (core) or 20 (full), a 7-day trial with 2,000 credits, and datasets from $1,000 under a yearly contract. Its [technographic page](https://coresignal.com/alternative-data/technographic-data/) says its records come from company descriptions and job postings, and counts 5M+ of them. It runs an [MCP server](https://docs.coresignal.com/mcp/coresignal-mcp) with per-team sign-in. The pages we read show no dates, confidence or spend for technologies.
- **Cognism.** Its [pricing page](https://www.cognism.com/pricing) lists technology usage among the data in its Standard and Pro prospecting packages, each with 5 seats and one credit per revealed contact, and shows no prices. The pages we could read do not say how it gathers technology data, and its help centre blocked our reader. See our [Cognism pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/cognism-pricing/).
- **Slintel.** A [write-up](https://gzconsulting.org/2021/10/21/6sense-acquires-slintel/) of the announcement says 6sense bought Slintel in October 2021 to add technographics, buyer and market insights, and contacts.
- **Datanyze.** A [write-up](https://gzconsulting.org/2018/10/08/zoominfo-acquires-datanyze-and-y-labs/) says ZoomInfo completed its Datanyze acquisition in September 2018, and that Datanyze held technographic data on 35 million companies. Datanyze's own site blocked our reader, so we list no price for it.

Rival lists also name Apollo, Clearbit, Bombora, SalesIntel and Dun and Bradstreet. We did not review them for this page. Our [best B2B data providers](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-b2b-data-providers/) list and the [best company data APIs](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-company-data-apis/) list compare vendors on contacts and company records. Anyone can opt out of Enrich.chat at [enrich.chat/opt-out](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/), and you stay responsible for TCPA, CAN-SPAM and GDPR rules. See our [terms](https://enrich.chat/terms/).

## Frequently asked questions

### What is a technographic data provider?

A technographic data provider sells records of the software, cloud and infrastructure tools that companies use, keyed on a company domain. Some read website code, some read job posts, and some blend several sources with firmographics, intent and contacts. Our [technographic data guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/technographic-data/) explains the term and how accurate the data is. This page compares nine providers on price, what each measures and how each says it detects technologies.

### How much do technographic data providers cost?

It depends on the group. [BuiltWith costs $295 to $995 a month](https://builtwith.com/plans), [Wappalyzer $250 to $850 or more](https://www.wappalyzer.com/pricing/), and [TheirStack sells 1,000 company credits for $109](https://theirstack.com/en/pricing). ZoomInfo, 6sense, Demandbase and HG Insights publish no price, and Vendr's buyer data puts their median contracts at $33,500 to $90,000 a year for the whole platform. We checked each page on October 16, 2026.

### Which technographic data provider shows install dates and confidence scores?

[BuiltWith's Domain API](https://api.builtwith.com/domain-api) returns first and last detected dates and a 0 to 1 confidence score. [TheirStack](https://theirstack.com/en/docs/data/technographic/how-we-source-tech-stack-data) shows first and last dates found with a low, medium or high level, and [PredictLeads](https://predictleads.com/technologies) returns first and last seen dates, a score and a source count. Crustdata attaches a confidence value to each piece of evidence but dates only the company record. Enrich.chat returns names and categories only.

### How do technographic data providers collect their data?

Each vendor describes it differently. [BuiltWith says](https://builtwith.com/plans) it indexes the web like a search engine, and [TheirStack](https://theirstack.com/en/docs/data/technographic/how-we-source-tech-stack-data) reads job posts. [PredictLeads](https://predictleads.com/technologies) lists script tags, DNS records, IP ranges, cookies and job descriptions. [ZoomInfo says](https://www.zoominfo.com/data-sources) it reads website source code and has partners capture job postings. These are vendor claims, not tests.

### Can an AI agent use a technographic data provider?

Yes, several have MCP servers. BuiltWith takes an API key or a USDC payment per call, [TheirStack includes MCP on its API plans](https://theirstack.com/en/pricing), and PredictLeads, [Crustdata](https://docs.crustdata.com/for-agents/claude-plugin) and [Coresignal](https://docs.coresignal.com/mcp/coresignal-mcp) run their own. [HG Insights](https://hginsights.com/product/hg-mcp-server) needs an API key from an administrator. Enrich.chat's remote MCP server at enrich.chat/mcp needs no key, and the [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/) has one-click steps.

### Is there a free technographic data provider?

Yes, with limits. [BuiltWith](https://builtwith.com/plans) is free for single-site lookups, [Wappalyzer's free account](https://www.wappalyzer.com/pricing/) gives 50 lookups a month, and [PredictLeads](https://predictleads.com/pricing) gives 100 API credits a month. [Crustdata](https://crustdata.com/pricing) starts new accounts with $20 in credits. Enrich.chat gives each IP address 10 free lookups a day with no signup, including tech stacks. HG Insights offers no trial.
