# What is Lusha? What it does, how its credits work, where its data comes from and how to opt out

Lusha sells business emails and phone numbers by the credit. Here is what it does, who it suits, how its own pages describe its data and privacy, what reviewers complain about, and what to use instead.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 16, 2026.

**Short answer:** Lusha is a B2B contact data platform from Lusha Systems Inc., which says it was founded in 2016. It sells business emails, phone numbers and company data through a web app, a Chrome extension, an API and an MCP server. [Lusha's pricing page](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) starts with a free plan of 40 credits a month, and an email costs 1 credit while a phone number costs 5.

## Key takeaways

- Lusha Systems Inc., based in Boston, says it was founded in 2016. It claims 515M+ contacts and 29M+ companies. Those are its own figures, and we found no independent test of them.
- Prices checked October 16, 2026: Free has 40 credits a month. Starter is $49.90, Pro $69.90 and Premium $399.90 a month on monthly billing, and 25% less billed yearly. An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 5.
- Lusha's own pages describe its data sources in different ways. Its privacy notice lists trusted data brokers, while its help center says it does not purchase data from third-party data brokers.
- Anyone can ask Lusha to remove their details with its Request Removal form. Trustpilot shows 1.2 out of 5 from 781 reviews, many about unwanted calls. Trustpilot does not verify reviews.
- Lusha suits reps who reveal contacts in a browser and want signals and CRM sync. For contact data inside an AI agent, with unlimited seats, Enrich.chat sells credit plans from $29 a month.

## What is Lusha?

Lusha is a B2B contact data platform. Sales, marketing and recruiting teams use it to look up the business email, direct phone number and job details of people they want to reach. [Lusha's privacy notice](https://www.lusha.com/legal/privacy_policy/) names the company as Lusha Systems Inc., based in Boston, and says its Israeli affiliate, Lusha Systems Ltd., is a joint controller of contact data.

Lusha says it was founded in 2016 by Assaf Eisenstein and Yoni Tserruya. [Its about page](https://www.lusha.com/about/) puts the team at 300 employees and the user base at 280,000+. You say the name loosh-ah. All of these are Lusha's own figures, read on October 16, 2026.

Lusha began as a lookup tool. Its plan cards now also list email sequences, call recordings and buying signals. It is still a data source that feeds other systems, not a CRM. Our [sales intelligence guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-sales-intelligence/) shows where such tools sit next to a CRM, and our explainers on [ZoomInfo](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-zoominfo/) and [Apollo.io](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-apollo-io/) cover two larger rivals.

## What can you do with Lusha?

You can search for people and companies, reveal their contact details, and push them into a CRM. [Lusha's introduction guide](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/getting-started/introduction-to-lusha) lists the ways in. They all draw on one database and one credit balance, as Figure 1 shows.

**Figure 1: Five ways into one Lusha database and one credit balance.** Five boxes across the top, Workspace, Extension, API, MCP server and CRM sync, each lead down into one dark block, the Lusha database of contacts, companies and buying signals. A band under it shows that all five draw on one shared credit balance, where an email costs 1 credit and a phone number costs 5 credits.

*The five ways into Lusha and the one credit balance behind them. Sources: [Lusha homepage](https://www.lusha.com/), [Lusha introduction guide](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/getting-started/introduction-to-lusha), [Lusha MCP docs](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/mcp/lusha-model-context-protocol-mcp-server), checked October 16, 2026.*

- **Workspace.** The web app. You search, filter and build tables of contacts and companies, then export them to a CSV file or a CRM.
- **Chrome extension.** It reveals contact details on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and company sites. [Lusha's docs](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/getting-started/introduction-to-lusha) say it works on Chrome and Edge. Its [Chrome Web Store listing](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/lusha-easily-find-b2b-con/mcebeofpilippmndlpcghpmghcljajna) adds Gmail and Google Calendar, version 11.0.8 updated October 13, 2026, and 400,000 users.
- **API.** Person, company and prospecting lookups from your own code. [Lusha's API guide](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/lushas-api/all-there-is-to-know-about-lushas-api) sets rate limits by plan.
- **MCP server.** Claude, ChatGPT and Codex connect through OAuth, and Cursor, VS Code and n8n use an API key. [Lusha's MCP docs](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/mcp/lusha-model-context-protocol-mcp-server) say it needs a Lusha account on any plan and spends credits from the same pool.
- **CRM integrations and signals.** Lusha lists Salesforce, HubSpot and others. On its [data page](https://www.lusha.com/data/) it claims 26 buying signals, such as job changes, hiring surges and funding, refreshed weekly or monthly.

## Who is Lusha for?

Lusha is built for individual reps and small revenue teams that want contact data in a browser at published prices. [Lusha's introduction guide](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/getting-started/introduction-to-lusha) names four groups of users:

- **Sales reps** (BDRs, SDRs and account executives) build prospect tables and reveal emails and direct dials.
- **RevOps teams** keep CRM records complete through integrations and API workflows.
- **Marketers** enrich inbound leads and build account lists from firmographics and signals.
- **Recruiters** reveal business contact details from LinkedIn profiles and fill gaps in an applicant tracking system.

Lusha's [homepage](https://www.lusha.com/) also targets people who build AI agents. Size matters. [Lusha's pricing page](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) tells teams of more than 5 users to contact sales, and only the custom Scale plan adds SSO. Negotiated deals cost far more than the self-serve cards: on October 16, 2026, [Vendr's buyer data](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/lusha) showed a median of $15,999 a year across 147 purchases, from $6,000 to $70,403.

Coverage is uneven. [Lusha's help center](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/getting-started/understanding-data-quality-and-coverage) says no B2B provider has 100% coverage or accuracy, and that Lusha tends to be stronger in English-speaking markets and technology industries.

## How do Lusha credits and plans work?

Lusha sells credits, and one credit buys one email address. A phone number costs 5. [Lusha's pricing page](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) showed these plans on October 16, 2026, and yearly billing takes 25% off.

| Lusha plan | Monthly billing | Billed yearly | Credits and seats |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 | Not offered | 40 a month, 1 seat |
| Starter | $49.90 a month | $37.45 a month | 400 a month, 1 seat |
| Pro | $69.90 a month | $52.45 a month | 600 a month, 2 seats |
| Premium | $399.90 a month | $299.95 a month | 3,400 a month, 5 seats |
| Scale | Custom | Custom | Custom credits and seats |

Per [Lusha's credit guide](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/usage-analytics/how-credits-are-counted), these rules decide what a contact costs:

- An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 5. Revealing both costs up to 6.
- Viewing a contact you already revealed costs 0, and so does searching or filtering in the app.
- The API charges at least 1 credit per request, even when nothing comes back. One contact with an email and a phone costs 7 credits.
- A CSV export costs 1 credit per 25 rows, and a CRM export 1 credit per changed row.

Plans renew automatically. Unused credits expire at the end of the term, apart from the rollover that the pricing page lists for monthly Pro and Premium plans. For the monthly slider, cost per email and phone, renewal terms and the API tiers, read our [Lusha pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/lusha-pricing/).

## Where does Lusha get its data, and how accurate is it?

Lusha says its database combines community contributions, public sources and partners, and it publishes accuracy figures. Its own pages describe the sources in different ways, so the table below sets them side by side.

| Lusha page | What it says about sources |
| --- | --- |
| [Privacy notice](https://www.lusha.com/legal/privacy_policy/) | The Community Program (members share email headers and signatures), affiliates, trusted data brokers and public APIs, email-pattern completion, minimal data from LinkedIn profile pages that an extension user is browsing, and partners for company data |
| [Data sources page](https://www.lusha.com/data-sources/) | Community contributions, affiliates' end users, information licensed from business partners who own directories, public information and email-pattern completion |
| [Help center, data quality](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/getting-started/understanding-data-quality-and-coverage) | Public professional profiles, company websites, business directories and proprietary contributions. It says Lusha does not purchase data from third-party data brokers |
| [Data page](https://www.lusha.com/data/) | First-party contributions, community updates and trusted vendors. It says Lusha never scrapes professional networks or social platforms |

These descriptions overlap but do not match. The privacy notice names data brokers as a source, and the help center says Lusha does not buy from them. If a legal review depends on the answer, ask Lusha's privacy team in writing. Lusha also runs a [Community Program](https://www.lusha.com/privacy/community/). Members install a Lusha product and share business contacts in exchange for extra credits and features.

On accuracy, Lusha publishes its own claims. We ran no lookups and found no independent test, so treat every figure below as marketing until you test it on your own list.

| Lusha's claim | Figure |
| --- | --- |
| Contacts and companies | 515M+ contacts, 29M+ companies |
| Verified emails and direct dials | 165M+ emails, 117M+ direct dials |
| Email accuracy | 98%, from 95% in LATAM to 98% in North America |
| Phone accuracy | 85% in the US, 86% globally |
| Refresh | Sources checked daily, contact fields refreshed weekly |

The figures come from [Lusha's data page](https://www.lusha.com/data/), read on October 16, 2026. The same page footnotes that Italian contact data is not currently available. For how fast any contact record goes stale, read our guide to [B2B data decay](https://enrich.chat/blog/b2b-data-decay/), and check numbers you already hold with the free [phone number validator](https://enrich.chat/tools/phone-number-validator/).

## How does Lusha handle privacy, and how do you remove your details?

Lusha keeps business-card data on people who are not its customers, and it lets anyone ask to be removed. This section covers what Lusha says it holds and how removal works.

In its [privacy notice](https://www.lusha.com/legal/privacy_policy/), Lusha calls these people Contacts. It says it keeps name, job title, seniority, email, phone numbers, country, state, a professional social profile link and a profile photo. It names legitimate interest as its legal basis for this data. It also says it tries to exclude public servants and public figures, and its California section states that it sells Contact data to its customers.

Lusha says it notifies people before adding them where the law requires, per its [Community page](https://www.lusha.com/privacy/community/). Some Trustpilot reviewers say they had never heard of Lusha before a call. Lusha's privacy notice reports 1,119 requests to delete or opt out in 2024, all complied with, at under 4 days on average. Lusha's data sources page says it is registered as a data broker in California, and the [state's registry files](https://cppa.ca.gov/data_broker_registry/) list Lusha Systems, Inc.

### How do you ask Lusha to remove you?

1. **Open the form.** Go to [Lusha's Request Removal page](https://www.lusha.com/privacy-center/request-removal/), which Lusha links in its site footer as Opt Out.
2. **Fill in three fields.** The form asks why you came, your country of residence and your email, then a reCAPTCHA check. Lusha says it uses these details to confirm you hold the address and to add it to a suppression list, so it is not added again.
3. **Confirm by email.** [DeleteMe's guide](https://joindeleteme.com/?p=12271), updated September 22, 2026, says you must click a link in a confirmation email, which may land in spam. DeleteMe sells a paid removal service, so weigh its advice with that in mind.
4. **Use the other routes where they fit.** The same guide points to a separate phone form at lushaprivacy.com. For access, correction or erasure, email Lusha's privacy team at privacy@lusha.com. Customers who want to close an account write to Lusha's support address instead.

Two limits apply. Lusha keeps a suppression list that may include personal data, so your details do not return. And when it erases your data, Lusha says it also informs the customers who bought it. EU, UK and Swiss residents can use Lusha's representative, Prighter, and you can complain to your national data protection regulator, as the privacy notice describes. This is general information, not legal advice. For US calling rules, read our [TCPA and B2B cold calling](https://enrich.chat/blog/tcpa-b2b-cold-calling/) guide.

## What do users and reviewers say about Lusha?

Reviewers split sharply. Lusha's own pages and the Chrome Web Store show scores above 4, while Trustpilot shows 1.2. The sources measure different groups, as Figure 2 shows.

**Figure 2: Three public scores for Lusha out of 5.** Bar chart of three scores checked October 16, 2026. Lusha's own pricing page shows 4.3 out of 5 and does not name the source. The Chrome Web Store shows 4.2 from 1.9K ratings. Trustpilot shows 1.2 from 781 reviews, 57% of them one star.

*Three public scores for Lusha. The pricing page does not say where its 4.3 comes from, the Chrome score covers people who installed the extension, and Trustpilot's score is unverified. Sources: [Lusha pricing page](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/), [Chrome Web Store](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/lusha-easily-find-b2b-con/mcebeofpilippmndlpcghpmghcljajna), [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/lusha.com), checked October 16, 2026.*

[Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/lusha.com) showed 781 reviews on October 16, 2026, with 57% at one star and 18% at five. Its AI summary of 74 recent reviews cites unwanted cold calls, data handling and trouble reaching support or opting out. Trustpilot does not fact-check reviews, and many of these reviews describe receiving calls, not using the product. G2, Capterra and TrustRadius blocked our reader, so we quote no scores from them.

Beyond the reviews, these limits come from Lusha's own documents:

- **Phones cost five times an email.** The API adds a 1 credit minimum per request, and [Lusha's Terms](https://www.lusha.com/legal/terms_and_conditions-2/) say a used credit cannot be revoked and no refunds follow from the quality of a record.
- **Plans renew automatically.** The Terms call all payments non-refundable and say unused credits expire at the end of the term, though the pricing page lists limited rollover on monthly Pro and Premium. Our [pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/lusha-pricing/) lists the notice rules.
- **The Terms restrict use.** They limit data to internal business uses, bar reselling and bar feeding it to outside AI systems that may train on it. They also make you responsible for data protection and marketing laws, including GDPR.
- **Lusha's pages disagree on the API.** Its introduction guide says the API is for the Scale plan only, its pricing page lists API from Pro, and its API guide gives every user a key, Free included, at strict limits.
- **Customers cannot edit records.** [Lusha's help center](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/getting-started/understanding-data-quality-and-coverage) says it does not support manual updates. You flag wrong data with a thumbs down or a CSV report, and algorithms fix it over time.

## When is Lusha the better choice, and what fits instead?

Lusha is the better choice when your reps work in a browser and want contact data, signals and CRM sync in one app. It has real strengths:

- **An extension on LinkedIn, company sites, Gmail and Calendar,** listed on [its Chrome Web Store page](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/lusha-easily-find-b2b-con/mcebeofpilippmndlpcghpmghcljajna) with a free tier and no credit card.
- **A free plan** with 40 credits a month, which suits a few lookups.
- **Signals and lookalikes.** Lusha sells buying signals, lookalike lists and AI recommendations, which a plain contact API does not.
- **Published compliance material.** Lusha lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27701 on its [homepage](https://www.lusha.com/), and it runs a documented removal route.

Other tools fit other jobs. Figure 3 matches four needs to a pick.

**Figure 3: Which tool fits which need.** Four needs and the tool that fits each. Reps who reveal contacts in a browser on LinkedIn fit Lusha. Many mobile numbers plus sequences and a dialer fit Apollo. Intent data and a sales-led enterprise contract fit ZoomInfo or Cognism. Contact data inside an AI agent or your own app fits Enrich.chat, on credit plans with unlimited seats.

*Which tool fits which need. The fit is our summary of the vendors' pages: Lusha as read on October 16, 2026, and the others from our [Apollo vs Lusha](https://enrich.chat/compare/apollo-vs-lusha/), [ZoomInfo vs Lusha](https://enrich.chat/compare/zoominfo-vs-lusha/) and [Cognism alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/cognism/) pages.*

Our [Apollo vs Lusha](https://enrich.chat/compare/apollo-vs-lusha/) comparison shows that Apollo charges 8 credits per phone number but costs less per mobile at list prices. Our [ZoomInfo vs Lusha](https://enrich.chat/compare/zoominfo-vs-lusha/) page covers the enterprise route. See the [Lusha alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/lusha/) ranking for more, the [best direct dial providers](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-direct-dial-providers/) for phone-heavy lists, and our [direct dials](https://enrich.chat/blog/direct-dials/) guide for what to check in a number.

## How can an AI agent get Lusha-style contacts with Enrich.chat?

If you want contact and company data inside an AI agent or app, not a browser app, Enrich.chat is a plain HTTPS API and MCP server. Your agent reads [enrich.chat/agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md), or you add the MCP server at `https://enrich.chat/mcp`. The [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/) has the steps, and no key is needed to start. Lusha's MCP server needs a Lusha account and spends your credits.

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to find the work email and mobile number for each person on this list. Mark anyone you cannot find as not found, flag catch_all emails as risky, and tell me the total credits_used: [paste name and company, or a LinkedIn URL, per row]
```

A work email costs 10 credits and a mobile 250. A lookup that finds nothing costs 0 credits, and each matched response shows `credits_used`. Every work email comes back as verified, catch_all or unknown, and every mobile with its line type, so you see the status of each field. Treat every contact as a strong lead, not a guarantee. A LinkedIn URL works as a lookup key, and Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn.

Take a rep who reveals 100 emails and 40 phone numbers a month. That is 300 Lusha credits, which fits Starter at $49.90 on monthly billing. On Enrich.chat the same month needs 11,000 credits, which fits the Growth plan at $29 a month, with unlimited seats and no annual contract. The two services return different data, so this compares price only. You get 10 free lookups a day with no signup, or try one profile in the [LinkedIn email finder](https://enrich.chat/tools/linkedin-email-finder/). See the [pricing page](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) for every plan.

Enrich.chat has two honest gaps next to Lusha:

- **No Chrome extension or point-and-click app.** You call the API or the MCP server, and SDKs are planned, not available.
- **No buying signals, intent data, sequences, dialer or native CRM app.** If your team sells on job-change alerts, Lusha covers more ground.

Anyone can also ask to be removed from Enrich.chat at [enrich.chat/opt-out/](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/), and you stay responsible for TCPA, CAN-SPAM and GDPR rules. Our [terms](https://enrich.chat/terms/) cover the rest.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is Lusha used for?

Sales, marketing, recruiting and RevOps teams use Lusha to find business emails and direct phone numbers, fill missing fields in a CRM, and spot job changes or funding news. [Lusha's introduction guide](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/getting-started/introduction-to-lusha) names reps, RevOps teams, marketers and recruiters as its users. You can search in its web app, reveal a contact in the Chrome extension, or call the API. Our [sales intelligence guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-sales-intelligence/) explains the category.

### What type of company is Lusha?

Lusha Systems Inc. is a US software company based in Boston, with an Israeli affiliate, Lusha Systems Ltd. It sells access to a database of business contacts, and it is registered as a data broker in California. [Lusha's data sources page](https://www.lusha.com/data-sources/) says so, and [the state's registry files](https://cppa.ca.gov/data_broker_registry/) list Lusha Systems, Inc. under that name.

### Can you use Lusha for free?

Yes, with limits. [Lusha's Free plan](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) gives 40 credits a month, 1 seat and no credit card, as checked on October 16, 2026. At 1 credit per email and 5 per phone number, that covers 40 emails or 8 phone numbers a month. Rollover is listed only on the Pro and Premium monthly plans. Our [Lusha pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/lusha-pricing/) lists every paid plan.

### How do I remove my data from Lusha?

Use [Lusha's Request Removal form](https://www.lusha.com/privacy-center/request-removal/). It asks why you came, your country of residence and your email, plus a reCAPTCHA check. Lusha says it uses these details to confirm you hold the address and to add it to a suppression list. For access, correction or erasure requests, email privacy@lusha.com, as its [privacy notice](https://www.lusha.com/legal/privacy_policy/) describes.

### Where does Lusha get its data?

Lusha's [privacy notice](https://www.lusha.com/legal/privacy_policy/) lists its Community Program, affiliates, public sources and data brokers, email-pattern completion and, for extension users, the LinkedIn profile pages they browse. Its [data sources page](https://www.lusha.com/data-sources/) adds licensed business partners. The pages do not all match, because [Lusha's help center](https://docs.lusha.com/user-guide/getting-started/understanding-data-quality-and-coverage) says it buys no data from third-party brokers.

### What does the name Lusha mean?

Lusha is pronounced loosh-ah. [Lusha's about page](https://www.lusha.com/about/) says it is the nickname of co-founder Assaf Eisenstein's daughter, who inspired the company name. Eisenstein and Yoni Tserruya founded the company in 2016, and the page describes Yoni as a young developer and Assaf as an HR tech creator.
