# What is RocketReach? Features, lookups and exports, price, data sources and opt-out

RocketReach sells business emails and phone numbers through a web app, a Chrome extension, an API and an MCP server. Here is how it works, what it costs, whether it is legit, and when another tool fits better.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 16, 2026.

**Short answer:** RocketReach is a US service that sells verified work emails, phone numbers and social profiles for professionals, through a web app, Chrome extension, API and MCP server. Its US plans cost $69 to $209 a month, or $399 to $1,699 a year, per the plan data behind [its pricing page](https://rocketreach.co/pricing), checked October 16, 2026. A lookup reveals a contact, an export takes it out, and annual plans cap exports.

## Key takeaways

- RocketReach is a contact-data service founded in 2015 for sales, recruiting and marketing. It claims more than 700 million professionals, a figure it does not explain.
- A lookup reveals a contact inside RocketReach. An export takes it out by CSV, CRM sync, API or MCP. Annual plans have unlimited lookups but cap exports at 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000 a year.
- US prices checked October 16, 2026: Essentials $69 a month or $399 a year, Pro $119 or $899, Ultimate $209 or $1,699. RocketReach sets prices by country.
- It is a real company and says it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications. It is also a data broker, and Trustpilot scored it 1.2 out of 5, mostly over auto-renewals, refunds and data consent.
- To opt out, use RocketReach's remove-profile form or its Do Not Sell or Share My Info tool. Its privacy policy says it denied none of the 3,367 verified California opt-out and delete requests it received in 2025.

## What is RocketReach and who is it for?

RocketReach is a US company that sells business contact data: work emails, phone numbers and social profiles for professionals. You search its database in a web app, a Chrome extension, an API or an MCP server, then spend credits to reveal the details. [RocketReach's About Us page](https://rocketreach.co/resources/about-us/) says it was founded in 2015 and serves sales teams, recruiters, marketers and entrepreneurs.

[A 2020 release from Brighton Park Capital](https://www.bpc.com/insights/rocketreach-secures-significant-growth-investment-from-brighton-park-capital) names Amit Shanbhag and Andrew Tso as the founders. It says the company was bootstrapped until Brighton Park took a majority stake in August 2020. RocketReach is based in Bellevue, Washington, and its [terms of service](https://rocketreach.co/terms) are governed by Washington law.

| RocketReach at a glance | Detail | Source |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Founded | 2015, by Amit Shanbhag and Andrew Tso | [Brighton Park release](https://www.bpc.com/insights/rocketreach-secures-significant-growth-investment-from-brighton-park-capital) |
| Ownership | Brighton Park Capital took a majority stake in August 2020 | [Brighton Park release](https://www.bpc.com/insights/rocketreach-secures-significant-growth-investment-from-brighton-park-capital) |
| Location | Bellevue, Washington | [Brighton Park release](https://www.bpc.com/insights/rocketreach-secures-significant-growth-investment-from-brighton-park-capital) |
| Database claim | 700 million professionals and 60 million companies | [Pricing page, archived October 13, 2026](https://web.archive.org/web/20261013163342/https://rocketreach.co/pricing) |
| User claim | Over 30 million on product pages, over 21 million on its About Us page | [Products](https://rocketreach.co/hub/products), [About Us](https://rocketreach.co/resources/about-us/) |
| Products | Search, Chrome extension, lists, Autopilot, Messages, API, MCP, CRM integrations | [Products](https://rocketreach.co/hub/products) |

The size figures are marketing claims. The 2020 release gave 430 million professionals and 17 million companies, and RocketReach's own pages now disagree on the user count. None of them explains how RocketReach counts a profile or a user.

### Who uses RocketReach?

- **Sales reps and SDRs** build lists with filters, reveal emails and direct dials, and send sequences of up to 500 emails a day.
- **Recruiters** look up candidates from social profiles with the Chrome extension, and can search by NPI number for US healthcare professionals, per [RocketReach's MCP page](https://rocketreach.co/resources/products/mcp/).
- **Marketers and RevOps teams** build account lists and sync them to Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft or Bullhorn on the Pro and Ultimate plans.
- **Developers and agent builders** call the API or MCP server, which draw on the same plan credits.

RocketReach is built for people who work inside its app. A solo user can start on a self-serve plan, and [custom packages](https://rocketreach.co/resources/products/api/) for larger teams start at $6,000 a year.

## What do you get with RocketReach?

Every RocketReach plan includes contact and company search, email verification, lists, CSV enrichment, a Chrome extension, Messages and sequences, and MCP and API access. Higher plans add phone numbers and integrations. The prices below are US prices from [RocketReach's plan data](https://rocketreach.co/v2/product/multi-seat?country_code=US), checked October 16, 2026.

| Plan | US price | What it adds | Exports |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Essentials (email only) | $69 a month or $399 a year | Verified personal and professional emails, plus everything listed above | 1,200 a year on annual billing |
| Pro (email and phone) | $119 a month or $899 a year | Mobile and direct phone numbers, technographics, news, org charts, and Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft, Bullhorn and Zapier integrations | 3,600 a year |
| Ultimate (email and phone) | $209 a month or $1,699 a year | Intent data, healthcare data, Salesforce custom mapping, suppression lists, advanced team management and single sign-on | 20,000 a year |
| Custom team plan | From $6,000 a year, by quote | Pooled credits, custom exports, a dedicated account manager and higher API limits | Quoted |

Each email carries a grade. RocketReach's [API FAQ](https://docs.rocketreach.co/reference/faq) says an A grade means about 98% deliverable, A- about 90%, B 75% to 85%, and F means invalid. Credits are charged for A and A- emails, and B or F grade emails use none.

Three smaller tools sit around the database. Autopilot keeps prospect lists updated on a schedule. The [Chrome extension](https://rocketreach.co/resources/products/extensions/) looks up contacts while you browse social networks or company sites. RocketReach Verify, in beta on its [products page](https://rocketreach.co/hub/products), checks emails already in your CRM.

## How do RocketReach lookups and exports work?

A lookup reveals a person's contact details and stores them inside RocketReach. An export takes those details out: a CSV download, a CRM or Zapier sync, a list upload, a bulk lookup, an API call or an MCP call. [RocketReach's Unlimited Credits FAQ](https://rocketreach.co/resources/unlimitedcredits-faq/) defines the two this way.

Searching is free. A search result shows a teaser, which hints at what data exists, and the [API docs](https://docs.rocketreach.co/reference/faq) say a final lookup can return more than the teaser shows. The lookup is the step that reveals the email or phone.

**Figure 1: A RocketReach contact from search to export.** Three steps. Search is free and shows a teaser. A lookup reveals the contact, saves it in My Contacts and uses a lookup credit. An export takes the contact out by CSV, CRM, list upload, API or MCP and uses an export credit. Monthly plans cap lookups at 100, 250 or 1,000 a month. Annual plans give unlimited lookups and cap exports at 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000 a year.

*How one contact moves through RocketReach, and which credit each billing cycle caps. Sources: [RocketReach Unlimited Credits FAQ](https://rocketreach.co/resources/unlimitedcredits-faq/), [RocketReach US plan data](https://rocketreach.co/v2/product/multi-seat?country_code=US), [pricing page archived October 13, 2026](https://web.archive.org/web/20261013163342/https://rocketreach.co/pricing).*

Your billing cycle decides which credit is capped:

- **Monthly plans cap lookups** at 100, 250 or 1,000 a month, and exports follow the same numbers.
- **Annual plans cap exports.** Lookups are unlimited, with a fair-use limit of 10,000 a month. The year's exports are a fixed pool: 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000.

API and MCP calls use exports on annual plans. The [MCP docs](https://docs.rocketreach.co/reference/mcp) say a person lookup uses one lookup credit and one person export credit, and the [People Lookup docs](https://docs.rocketreach.co/reference/people-lookup-api) say that endpoint consumes export credits. An agent can therefore pull only as many contacts as your export pool allows. On annual Pro, that is 3,600.

RocketReach does not charge for a miss. Its [pricing FAQ](https://web.archive.org/web/20261013163342/https://rocketreach.co/pricing) says a lookup is used if it finds and verifies an email or phone, and is refunded otherwise. [The MCP page](https://rocketreach.co/resources/products/mcp/) adds that looking up the same record again uses no extra credit.

You can look someone up by name and employer, email address, LinkedIn URL, phone number, profile ID or NPI number, per the [People Lookup docs](https://docs.rocketreach.co/reference/people-lookup-api). A lookup can return cached emails first and finish verifying in the background. Our [RocketReach pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/rocketreach-pricing/) works out the cost per contact on each plan.

## How much does RocketReach cost?

RocketReach's US plans cost $69, $119 or $209 a month, or $399, $899 or $1,699 a year, as checked on October 16, 2026 in the plan data behind [its pricing page](https://rocketreach.co/pricing). Annual billing is cheaper per month, but you pay for the year up front.

- **Free account.** Signing up is free and includes a few lookups with no credit card. The pricing FAQ in an [archived copy from October 13, 2026](https://web.archive.org/web/20261013163342/https://rocketreach.co/pricing) says 5. Our pricing guide read 3 on October 15, so the number may vary.
- **Prices depend on country.** Annual Essentials was $399 in the [US data](https://rocketreach.co/v2/product/multi-seat?country_code=US), $229 in the [German data](https://rocketreach.co/v2/product/multi-seat?country_code=DE) and $100 in the [Indian data](https://rocketreach.co/v2/product/multi-seat?country_code=IN) on the same day.
- **Team and custom plans.** Custom packages start at $6,000 a year. [Vendr's buyer data](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/rocketreach) shows a median of $6,750 a year, with deals from $1,800 to $13,340.
- **Renewal.** [RocketReach's refund policy](https://rocketreach.co/refunds) says payments are non-refundable and all paid subscriptions auto-renew. You can cancel for the next billing cycle.

## Where does RocketReach get its data, and how accurate is it?

RocketReach's privacy policy names four sources: public web pages, inferred work emails, data providers and customers' connected email accounts. [The policy](https://rocketreach.co/privacy), updated September 30, 2026, describes each one. RocketReach also claims up to 98% accuracy for its best emails, and it publishes no method for that figure.

**Figure 2: Four routes into RocketReach and three ways to act.** Four sources feed a RocketReach profile: public web pages, emails inferred from company formats, data providers such as directories and data brokers, and customers who opt in by connecting email accounts. A person listed there can use the remove-profile form to delete the record, the Do Not Sell or Share tool to stop sale or sharing, or email the privacy team.

*The four sources RocketReach's privacy policy lists, and the three routes it gives people to act on their record. The policy does not name its data providers. Source: [RocketReach Privacy Policy](https://rocketreach.co/privacy), checked October 16, 2026.*

- **Public web pages.** RocketReach's search technology scans social media sites, corporate websites and public records for names, emails, phone numbers, work history and similar details.
- **Inferred emails.** The policy says it may infer professional emails from the common format a company uses. Our guide to [business email formats](https://enrich.chat/blog/email-address-formats/) shows why a guessed address can bounce.
- **Data providers.** It may obtain details from people directories, data brokers, corporate directories, business partners and advertising networks. It does not name them.
- **Connected inboxes.** Customers can opt in to share their professional network by connecting a Google or Microsoft account. The policy lists address book entries, email headers and signature blocks.

On accuracy, RocketReach makes its own claims. Its [pricing page](https://web.archive.org/web/20261013163342/https://rocketreach.co/pricing) says contacts are verified on demand and in real time with 98% accuracy, and its [API page](https://rocketreach.co/resources/products/api/) says up to 98% for A-grade emails. The [API FAQ](https://docs.rocketreach.co/reference/faq) says 87% of lookups return a profile and LinkedIn URLs return data 99% of the time. None of these pages says how the figures were measured.

The terms point the other way. [RocketReach's terms of service](https://rocketreach.co/terms) say it does not warrant that lookup information is up to date, accurate or complete. Trustpilot's summary lists inaccurate or low-quality contact data among the common criticisms. Our [RocketReach alternatives guide](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/rocketreach/) covers what G2 reviewers praise and criticize.

Outside tests are rare. Clay, which also sells data, ran a [mobile number test](https://clay.com/blog/best-mobile-phone-data) with ten providers in May 2026. It calls RocketReach a North America specialist and publishes no separate quality score for it. Test any vendor on 20 of your own contacts first. Our guide to [B2B data decay](https://enrich.chat/blog/b2b-data-decay/) explains why even good data goes stale.

## Is RocketReach legit?

Yes, RocketReach is a legitimate company with a working product. It is also a data broker, and its reviews split sharply. The risks sit in the renewal terms and in how you use the data, not in whether the company exists.

- **Company.** It was founded in 2015 and has had a majority investor since 2020, per the [Brighton Park release](https://www.bpc.com/insights/rocketreach-secures-significant-growth-investment-from-brighton-park-capital). Its [security page](https://rocketreach.co/resources/security/) says it holds SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications. These are RocketReach's own claims.
- **Ratings.** RocketReach's [API page](https://rocketreach.co/resources/products/api/) lists 4.5 stars on G2, 4.6 on Gartner, 4.1 on Software Advice and 4.1 on Capterra. [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/rocketreach.co) showed 1.2 out of 5 from 1,113 reviews on October 16, 2026, with 38% at five stars and 39% at one star.
- **Criticisms.** Trustpilot's summary of 74 recent reviews names unexpected annual renewals, refused refunds and personal data stored or shared without consent. Trustpilot says the company has not recently invited customers to review, so the sample may not be representative.
- **Contract.** The [refund policy](https://rocketreach.co/refunds) says payments are non-refundable and all paid subscriptions auto-renew. Set a reminder before an annual renewal.
- **Data broker.** The privacy policy says the company is a data broker under Texas law.

RocketReach's terms also limit how you use its data. [They say](https://rocketreach.co/terms) to use lookup information only to identify sales prospects, find recruiting candidates and research customers, in ways tied to a person's work. They bar resale and scraping. Laws such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR and the TCPA still apply to you. See our guide to [TCPA and B2B cold calling](https://enrich.chat/blog/tcpa-b2b-cold-calling/) before you dial a mobile number. This is general information, not legal advice.

## How do you opt out of RocketReach?

To remove yourself, use the remove-profile form on rocketreach.co. [RocketReach's privacy policy](https://rocketreach.co/privacy) names that form for deletion and a Do Not Sell or Share My Info tool for opting out of the sale or sharing of your data.

1. Look up your own profile on rocketreach.co and copy its URL. Bitdefender says you may need to sign up to do this.
2. Open the claim-profile page, which the Do Not Sell My Info link in the site footer leads to, and enter your details and the profile URL.
3. Click the Claim Profile button in the verification email RocketReach sends.
4. Choose Remove My Profile and confirm.

[Bitdefender's guide](https://www.bitdefender.com/en-us/blog/hotforsecurity/control-your-privacy-series-what-is-rocketreach-and-what-are-your-opt-out-options), updated July 9, 2026, describes these steps. Button names may have changed since. RocketReach says changes can take several weeks to show, and Bitdefender warns that a listing can return if your details are collected again.

The policy adds other routes. You can turn on the Global Privacy Control setting in your browser to opt out of targeted advertising, email privacy@rocketreach.co, or contact its EU and UK representative. The policy also reports 2025 request counts. RocketReach received 3,367 verified opt-out or delete requests from California residents and denied none of them. It received 20,321 more from people whose location it could not tell. It says it handles opt-out and delete requests the same way, by removing the person's information from its database.

Removal applies to RocketReach only. Each data seller has its own process, such as the one in our [ZoomInfo explainer](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-zoominfo/). Anyone can also ask to be removed from Enrich.chat at [enrich.chat/opt-out/](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/).

## When is RocketReach the right tool, and when does another fit better?

RocketReach is the right tool when one person or a small team prospects by hand in its web app. Another tool fits better when you want a larger platform, a way to test for free, or contact data inside an agent or your own app.

**Figure 3: Which kind of tool fits the job.** A three-question decision path. If one person or a small team prospects by hand in a web app, RocketReach fits, with Pro or Ultimate for phones. If not, and a large team needs intent data, org charts and CRM sync, a platform such as ZoomInfo or Apollo fits. If not, and an AI agent or your own app needs the data with no seats, an API such as Enrich.chat fits. Otherwise, start with a free tier and test 20 of your own contacts.

*A starting point for choosing between RocketReach and other kinds of tool, based on the plan features and API docs cited in this guide. It is not a ranking. Sources: [RocketReach plan data](https://rocketreach.co/v2/product/multi-seat?country_code=US), [RocketReach MCP docs](https://docs.rocketreach.co/reference/mcp), [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).*

### When is RocketReach the better choice?

- You reveal contacts one at a time in a web app. Annual plans give unlimited lookups within a fair-use limit of 10,000 a month.
- You want the Chrome extension, lists and sequences in one place, or you recruit with Bullhorn. CRM integrations start on Pro.
- You search healthcare professionals by NPI number, or you want intent data on Ultimate.
- You prefer one fixed yearly bill.

### When does another tool fit better?

- **You want contact data inside an agent or app.** RocketReach's API and MCP calls draw on a capped export pool, and its terms restrict reselling or sharing lookup information.
- **You want a bigger platform.** Read our explainers on [ZoomInfo](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-zoominfo/), [Apollo](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-apollo-io/) and [Lusha](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-lusha/), or the wider guide to [sales intelligence](https://enrich.chat/blog/what-is-sales-intelligence/).
- **You mainly need mobile numbers.** Compare the [best direct dial providers](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-direct-dial-providers/).
- **You want to avoid auto-renewal.** Our [RocketReach alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/rocketreach/) page covers tools billed monthly.

## How can an AI agent get RocketReach-style contacts with Enrich.chat?

If you want contact and company data inside an AI agent or app, Enrich.chat is a plain HTTPS API and MCP server. It returns people, work emails, mobile numbers and company profiles. Your agent reads [enrich.chat/agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md), or you add the MCP server at `https://enrich.chat/mcp`. The [install page](https://enrich.chat/install/) has the steps, and no key is needed to start.

RocketReach's MCP server signs in with your RocketReach account and spends your plan's lookup and export credits. Enrich.chat uses credits instead. A work email costs 10 credits, a mobile 250, and a lookup that finds nothing uses 0 credits. Every plan has unlimited seats, every product and no annual contract. The 300 contacts a month that annual RocketReach Pro covers, each with an email and a mobile, need 78,000 credits, which fits the Growth plan at $29 a month. See [pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) for the full rates.

The calls cover common RocketReach jobs. `/v1/person` takes a LinkedIn URL, an email, or a name and company, and returns a work email and mobile. `/v1/search` finds people from a plain-English description with filters such as title, seniority and country. `/v1/company` returns a company profile. Each work email comes back as verified, catch_all or unknown, and each mobile as mobile or unknown. Treat every contact as a strong lead, not a guarantee. Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn.

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to look up the work email and mobile line type for each person below, by LinkedIn URL or by name and company. Show each email's status, mark misses as not found, and give me the total credits_used: [paste LinkedIn URLs or names and companies]
```

You can try it first. Every IP gets 10 free lookups a day with no signup, and the free [LinkedIn email and phone finder](https://enrich.chat/tools/linkedin-email-finder/) tests one profile in the browser. Our [LinkedIn URL to contact API](https://enrich.chat/api/linkedin-to-contact/) page shows the request and response. Enrich.chat has two honest gaps next to RocketReach:

- **No workspace.** There is no Chrome extension, email sequencing, dialer or intent data. RocketReach offers an extension, sequences and, on Ultimate, intent data.
- **No table builder or CSV upload screen, and SDKs are only planned.** You call the API or the MCP server, and your agent does the batching. Our [data API for AI agents](https://enrich.chat/agents/) page lists what is included.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is RocketReach used for?

Sales teams, recruiters and marketers use RocketReach to find business contact details. They search for a person or company, then spend credits to reveal a work email, phone number or social profile. [RocketReach's About Us page](https://rocketreach.co/resources/about-us/) names sales, recruiting, marketing and entrepreneurs as its users. It also offers a Chrome extension, sequences, an API and an MCP server.

### Is RocketReach legit?

Yes, RocketReach is a real company, founded in 2015, and its [security page](https://rocketreach.co/resources/security/) claims SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications. It is also a data broker. [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/rocketreach.co) scored it 1.2 out of 5 on October 16, 2026, mostly over annual auto-renewals, refused refunds and data consent. Read the renewal terms before you pay.

### Is RocketReach free?

Partly. A free account includes a few lookups with no credit card, and [RocketReach's MCP page](https://rocketreach.co/resources/products/mcp/) says free accounts can use MCP. The pricing FAQ has shown 3 and 5 free lookups, so check the number at sign-up. Paid plans start at $69 a month or $399 a year in the US, per RocketReach's plan data checked October 16, 2026.

### What is the difference between a RocketReach lookup and an export?

A lookup reveals a contact's details and stores them inside RocketReach. An export moves the data out by CSV download, CRM sync, list upload, bulk lookup, API call or MCP call, per [RocketReach's Unlimited Credits FAQ](https://rocketreach.co/resources/unlimitedcredits-faq/). Annual plans have unlimited lookups but fixed exports of 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000 a year. Monthly plans cap lookups at 100, 250 or 1,000 a month.

### How does RocketReach get its data?

[RocketReach's privacy policy](https://rocketreach.co/privacy) names four routes: public web pages and records, work emails it infers from a company's usual format, data providers such as people directories and data brokers, and email accounts that customers choose to connect. The policy does not name the providers. Treat any contact as a lead to check, not a guarantee.

### How do I remove my information from RocketReach?

Use the remove-profile form named in [RocketReach's privacy policy](https://rocketreach.co/privacy), or the Do Not Sell or Share My Info tool in its footer. [Bitdefender's guide](https://www.bitdefender.com/en-us/blog/hotforsecurity/control-your-privacy-series-what-is-rocketreach-and-what-are-your-opt-out-options) describes the steps: find your profile, verify by email, then choose Remove My Profile. Changes can take several weeks, and listings can return if your data is collected again.
