# ZoomInfo API in 2026: what it costs, how credits work, and how to call it

ZoomInfo sells API access two ways: an Enterprise contract with no public price, and a self-serve GTM AI plan with published credit prices. Here is what each costs, plus the docs, limits and a working enrich call.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 15, 2026.

**Short answer:** The ZoomInfo API lets your software search and enrich ZoomInfo's company and contact records, plus intent, scoops and technographics. Enterprise API access comes with a contract and has no public price; [Vendr's buyer data](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/zoominfo) puts the median ZoomInfo contract at $33,500 a year. ZoomInfo's self-serve [GTM AI plan](https://gtm.ai/pricing) sells API data credits at $0.45 to $0.25 per enriched record.

## Key takeaways

- ZoomInfo publishes no price for Enterprise API access. Vendr's buyer data shows a median ZoomInfo contract of $33,500 a year.
- GTM AI, ZoomInfo's self-serve plan, gives 1,000 free data credits at signup, then sells them at $0.45 to $0.25 each.
- One credit buys one new company or contact record. Search and Lookup are free, and a No match result costs nothing.
- The current API uses OAuth 2.0 (Client Credentials or PKCE). The older JWT-based Enterprise API is being deprecated.
- Rate limits run from 5 requests a second (Builder) to 35 (Scaling), and each enrich call takes up to 25 records.

## Plans and prices

Prices as listed by ZoomInfo GTM AI on October 15, 2026. [Source](https://gtm.ai/pricing). Enterprise API contracts are quoted by ZoomInfo sales and have no public price.

| Plan | Price | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Free | $0 to start | Once, at signup, no card |
| Data credits | $0.45 /credit | Falls to $0.25 on larger top-ups |
| AI credits | $0.05 /credit | Flat rate, no volume tiers |
| Enterprise | Custom annual | Quote from sales |

## What is the ZoomInfo API?

The ZoomInfo API is a set of HTTPS endpoints that let your software search and enrich ZoomInfo's company and contact records. [ZoomInfo's API overview](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/overview) says your subscription decides which scopes and endpoints you can use. The docs now live at docs.gtm.ai: on October 15, 2026, [docs.zoominfo.com](https://docs.zoominfo.com/) redirected there.

The ZoomInfo Data API works in two steps. You search first, which is free. Then you enrich the records you want, which costs credits. A Lookup endpoint returns the allowed values for filters such as industry or management level. ZoomInfo's [batching guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/pagination-batching-and-bulk) recommends this search-then-enrich pattern so you only pay for records you need.

| ZoomInfo endpoint | What you get | Credits used |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Lookup | Valid filter values, and which output fields your plan includes | Free |
| Search Contacts, Search Companies | Matching records with IDs and flags such as hasEmail, but no emails or phones | Free |
| Search Intent, Scoops, News | Signals across all companies; Intent needs the Intent SKU | Free, but results count toward your record limit |
| Enrich Contacts | Email, phone, mobile, title and location for up to 25 people a call | 1 per new record |
| Enrich Companies, Corporate Hierarchy | Firmographics plus parent and child companies, up to 25 a call | 1 per new record |
| Enrich Technologies, Intent, Scoops, News, Org Charts | Tech stack, signals or org chart for one company | 1 per company enriched |

Credit rules come from ZoomInfo's [credit usage guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/credit-usage-and-limits) and each endpoint's page in the API reference, such as [Search Intent](https://docs.gtm.ai/reference/searchinterface_searchintent), checked October 15, 2026. Around the Data API sit newer APIs for audiences, AI agents and "context" such as buyer personas and ideal customer profiles. The [OAuth scopes list](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/zoominfo-oauth-scopes) has separate scopes for company, contact, intent, news and scoops data.

### The legacy Enterprise API

Older integrations use the legacy ZoomInfo Enterprise API. Its [documentation](https://api-docs.zoominfo.com/) says it is being deprecated and that new work should use the new API. The legacy API had Standard APIs (search, enrich, lookup and usage), Scaling APIs (bulk jobs and webhooks), a WebSights API for IP lookups and a Compliance API. If you run a legacy integration, plan the move to the new endpoints and OAuth.

## How much does the ZoomInfo API cost?

ZoomInfo API pricing depends on how you buy it. ZoomInfo publishes no price for Enterprise API access. Its [pricing page](https://www.zoominfo.com/pricing) and [Enterprise API page](https://www.zoominfo.com/solutions/data-as-a-service/enterprise-api) only offer a quote or a demo. GTM AI, ZoomInfo's self-serve plan, does publish prices: on October 15, 2026, its [pricing page](https://gtm.ai/pricing) listed data credits from $0.45 down to $0.25 each.

**Figure 1: Two ways to buy ZoomInfo API access.** Enterprise API access starts with an annual contract quoted by sales, then an app in the Developer Portal, then bulk credits at one per new record, then calls at 25 requests a second on the Standard package. GTM AI self-serve starts with a free signup and 1,000 data credits, then up to 5 apps, then top-up credits at $0.45 to $0.25 each, then calls at 5 requests a second.

*The two paths to the same ZoomInfo API, checked October 15, 2026. Sources: [ZoomInfo app guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/standard-app), [rate limits](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/rate-limits), [credit guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/credit-usage-and-limits), [GTM AI pricing](https://gtm.ai/pricing).*

### GTM AI self-serve prices

GTM AI gives every new account 1,000 data credits and 1,000 AI credits once, with no card. After that, you top up from $20. One data credit enriches one company, contact or intent record. The price per credit falls as the top-up grows. AI credits cost a flat $0.05 and pay for research agents, not records.

| GTM AI top-up (spend tier) | Price per data credit | Example top-up |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Base, under $50 | $0.45 | 100 credits for $45 |
| $50 tier | $0.43 | 500 credits for $215 |
| $250 tier | $0.41 | 1,000 credits for $410 |
| $1,000 tier | $0.38 | 5,000 credits for $1,900 |
| $5,000 tier | $0.32 | 15,000 credits for $4,800 |
| $9,000 tier | $0.29 | 30,000 credits for $8,700 |
| $25,000 tier | $0.25 | 100,000 credits for $25,000 |

The tiers come from the calculator on the [GTM AI pricing page](https://gtm.ai/pricing) on October 15, 2026. Three details on that page matter before you buy:

- **Some data is Enterprise only.** The page lists mobile phone data, Records Under Management and SSO as Enterprise features.
- **Credits expire.** The FAQ says credits expire 12 months after they are granted, whether free or bought.
- **A launch offer.** A limited offer took 70% off the first data credit purchase. The example prices above do not include it.

### ZoomInfo Enterprise API prices

ZoomInfo's [pricing page](https://www.zoominfo.com/pricing) says Enterprise cost depends on features, the number of licenses and credit usage. It adds that integrations usually carry a base cost and a minimum purchase of bulk credits. Since ZoomInfo shows no API price, the best public evidence comes from third parties and marketplace listings:

- **Vendr's buyer data (reported).** [Vendr](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/zoominfo) shows a median ZoomInfo contract of $33,500 a year across 1,577 purchases, with a range of $7,240 to $156,042. Vendr also says advanced API use may need a higher-tier contract or extra fees.
- **AWS Marketplace listings sold by ZoomInfo.** [ZoomInfo Sales Basic](https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-ckg6rmyo3zsmw) costs $3,000 for 12 months, for 1 user and 2,000 bulk credits. [ZoomInfo Sales](https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-u52tqtal5ejbu) costs $34,995 for 12 months. Neither listing says whether API access is included.
- **Copilot plans.** ZoomInfo added API access to all Copilot plans in July 2025, [Destination CRM reported](https://www.destinationcrm.com/Articles/CRM-News/CRM-Across-the-Wire/ZoomInfo-Extends-Open-Environment-for-Data-Integration-170672.aspx).

These figures cover whole ZoomInfo contracts, not the API alone. Vendr's page also warns of annual price increases of 5% to 10% and auto-renewal clauses, so check the notice window before you sign. Our [ZoomInfo pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-pricing/) breaks down the platform plans.

## How do ZoomInfo API credits work?

One ZoomInfo credit buys one new record. On October 15, 2026, ZoomInfo's [credit guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/credit-usage-and-limits) said the first enrichment of a record in a rolling 12 months uses one credit and puts the record "under management" for a year. Enriching it again in that year uses no extra credit, but it still counts against your record limit.

- **Free calls.** Search, Lookup, Find Similar and Find Recommended Contacts use no credits.
- **No match, no charge.** The [Enrich Contacts reference](https://docs.gtm.ai/reference/enrichinterface_enrichcontact) says a No match result or an error code is not charged.
- **Filters can turn a match into a non-match.** If you set requiredFields, a minimum contact accuracy score or a freshness date, records that fail come back with statuses such as NON_MATCH_BY_REQUIRED_FIELDS.
- **Field access depends on your package.** The Lookup Enrich endpoint shows which output fields your account can read. For a missing field, ZoomInfo's docs send you to your account manager.
- **Credit pools differ.** The [GTM AI credits page](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/credits) says MCP draws only on pooled bulk credits. Some older subscriptions carry monthly credits that MCP cannot use.

Records Under Management is an Enterprise benefit. The GTM AI pricing FAQ says it does not apply to the free tier, so a second enrichment of the same record there may cost another credit. ZoomInfo's docs also tell agents to assume the worst case, one credit per record, and to ask before large batches.

## How do you authenticate with the ZoomInfo API?

The current ZoomInfo API uses OAuth 2.0, not a static API key, according to its docs on October 15, 2026. You create an app, get a client ID and client secret, and trade them for a short-lived bearer token. ZoomInfo's [app guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/standard-app) offers two flows:

- **Client Credentials**, for server-to-server jobs. You pick an integration user, and every call is logged under that user. Your server posts its client ID and secret to the token endpoint, `/gtm/oauth/v1/token`, with `grant_type=client_credentials`, as the [Client Credentials guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/client-credentials-flow) shows.
- **Authorization Code with PKCE**, for apps that act for a signed-in ZoomInfo user. Partner apps sold to many ZoomInfo customers must use this flow and pass a review.

Every request then sends `Authorization: Bearer <access_token>` to the base URL `https://api.zoominfo.com/gtm`. For quick tests, the Developer Portal can generate a token for you. ZoomInfo's [test guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/test-api-access) warns that these are production calls that use real credits.

The legacy Enterprise API worked differently. It returned a JWT valid for one hour, made from either a client ID and private key or a username and password, per the [legacy docs](https://api-docs.zoominfo.com/). Admins created the private key under Admin Portal, then API, then Generate New Key.

## What are the ZoomInfo API rate limits?

ZoomInfo limits each tenant per second, per hour and per day at the same time. A request fails if any of the three windows is full. The [rate limits page](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/rate-limits), last updated October 4, 2026, lists three packages:

| ZoomInfo package | Per second | Per hour | Per day |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Builder | 5 | 10,800 | 129,600 |
| Standard | 25 | 54,000 | 648,000 |
| Scaling | 35 | 75,600 | 907,200 |

A 429 response carries a Retry-After header and an X-RateLimit-Rejected-Bucket header that names the window you hit. The docs' own example asks for a 719 second wait after the hourly window ran out, so do not retry in a tight loop. Rejected requests do not use quota. To raise a limit, you send your tenant ID to your ZoomInfo account team.

ZoomInfo's [credit guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/credit-usage-and-limits), last updated in August 2026, still lists 25 requests a second by default, with Premium add-ons at 30 and 35. Treat the newer rate limits page as current, and read the X-RateLimit headers your account returns.

### ZoomInfo API batch sizes

- Enrich Contacts and Enrich Companies take up to 25 records per call, per the [batching guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/pagination-batching-and-bulk).
- Search returns up to 100 results per page.
- Through ZoomInfo MCP, enrichment takes up to 10 records per call.
- The legacy API allowed 25 requests a second on Standard APIs and 33 on Scaling APIs, with record and request limits for each contract term.

## What does a ZoomInfo enrich call look like?

A ZoomInfo enrich takes two requests: one for a token and one for the records. This example follows ZoomInfo's [Enrich Contacts reference](https://docs.gtm.ai/reference/enrichinterface_enrichcontact). It matches a person by name and company, asks for email and phone fields, and requires a company name in the result.

```
# 1. Trade your client ID and secret for a bearer token
curl -X POST https://api.zoominfo.com/gtm/oauth/v1/token \
  -u "$CLIENT_ID:$CLIENT_SECRET" \
  -d grant_type=client_credentials
# 2. Enrich one contact by name and company
curl -X POST https://api.zoominfo.com/gtm/data/v1/contacts/enrich \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $ACCESS_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/vnd.api+json" \
  -d '{"data": {"type": "ContactEnrich", "attributes": {
        "matchPersonInput": [{"firstName": "henry", "lastName": "schuck",
                              "companyName": "zoominfo"}],
        "outputFields": ["id", "email", "phone", "mobilePhone",
                         "jobTitle", "companyName"],
        "requiredFields": ["id", "companyName"]}}}'
# Each result reports a match status in its meta object
#   "matchStatus": "FULL_MATCH"   1 credit if the record is new
#   "matchStatus": "NO_MATCH"     no credit
```

ZoomInfo recommends a free Search Contacts call first, then an enrich by `personId`. Following that advice means three calls for each new person: token, search and enrich. The token is reused until it expires.

### The same lookup on Enrich.chat

Enrich.chat does the same job in one GET request, with no token exchange and no ID step. Each IP gets 10 free lookups a day, with no key and no signup. For more volume there are monthly credit plans, Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits. To get a key, log in at [enrich.chat/account/](https://enrich.chat/account/) with your email, pick a plan and pay through checkout. The key appears on that page. A key is optional on the free tier.

```
# One request, no token step
curl -G https://enrich.chat/v1/person \
  --data-urlencode "name=Jane Doe" \
  -d company=acmelogistics.com \
  -d fields=email,mobile
# Optional with a paid key: -H "Authorization: Bearer $ENRICH_KEY"
# Response, shortened from agents.md
{"found": true, "name": "Jane Doe", "title": "VP Operations",
 "work_email": {"value": "jane.doe@acmelogistics.com", "status": "verified"},
 "mobile": {"value": "+14155550142", "line": "mobile"},
 "credits_used": 260, "free_lookups_remaining": 9}
```

Each work email comes back as `verified`, `catch_all` or `unknown`. A miss returns `{"found": false}` and uses 0 credits. The [person enrichment API](https://enrich.chat/api/person-enrichment/) page lists every parameter, and the free [email finder](https://enrich.chat/tools/email-finder/) runs the same lookup in your browser.

**Figure 2: Requests to enrich one new contact.** The ZoomInfo API takes a token request, an optional free Search Contacts request to find the personId, and an Enrich Contacts request that uses one credit if the record is new. Enrich.chat takes one GET request to the person endpoint and returns a work email marked verified, a mobile and credits_used, with 0 credits used on a miss.

## Who can get ZoomInfo API access?

You need a ZoomInfo license that includes API access, or a GTM AI account. On October 15, 2026, ZoomInfo's [app guide](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/standard-app) said apps require a GTM.ai or Enterprise license with API access. Enterprise users also need Developer Portal access from their ZoomInfo admin.

- **Enterprise and Copilot customers.** API access comes through your contract, and ZoomInfo added it to all Copilot plans in July 2025, according to [Destination CRM](https://www.destinationcrm.com/Articles/CRM-News/CRM-Across-the-Wire/ZoomInfo-Extends-Open-Environment-for-Data-Integration-170672.aspx). Your package sets the scopes and fields you get.
- **GTM AI self-serve.** Anyone can sign up, create up to 5 apps and call the API at 5 requests a second, per the [GTM AI pricing page](https://gtm.ai/pricing).
- **Software partners.** Vendors building for many ZoomInfo customers need approved partner status and an app review.

The GTM AI FAQ says existing ZoomInfo customers keep their credit allocations and Records Under Management there. GTM AI is another way into the same account, not a replacement plan.

## When is the ZoomInfo API the right choice?

The ZoomInfo API makes sense when you already pay for ZoomInfo, or when you need data beyond contact details. Four cases stand out:

- **You have a contract with spare credits.** Copilot plans include API access, and records under management can be enriched again for 12 months at no extra credit. Using what you already pay for beats buying a second source.
- **You need intent data.** [Search Intent](https://docs.gtm.ai/reference/searchinterface_searchintent) returns companies researching up to 50 of your topics, with a signal score and audience strength. It needs the Intent SKU.
- **You sell on trigger events.** Scoops, news, funding rounds and job changes come through the same API and scopes.
- **You need company structure.** Corporate hierarchy, org charts and technographics have their own enrich endpoints. Our guide to [firmographic and technographic data](https://enrich.chat/blog/firmographic-data/) explains the difference.

ZoomInfo also runs a hosted MCP server on the same credit pools. Read [ZoomInfo MCP: setup, limits and alternatives](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-mcp/) if your agent runs in Claude or ChatGPT.

## What are the best ZoomInfo API alternatives?

If you only need work emails, mobiles and profiles inside an app or AI agent, a credit-plan API is simpler than the ZoomInfo API. You skip the annual contract and the OAuth setup. Enrich.chat sells monthly credit plans: Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits. A work email costs 10 credits, a mobile 250, and a lookup that finds nothing costs 0 credits. Every plan has unlimited seats and every product. Full rates are on the [pricing page](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).

**Figure 3: Cost to enrich 1,000 contacts at public prices.** Bar chart of the cost to enrich 1,000 contacts at public prices on October 15, 2026: Enrich.chat at $29 a month on the Growth plan for 1,000 verified emails (10,000 credits) and $90 a month on the Scale plan for 1,000 emails plus 1,000 mobiles (260,000 credits), GTM AI $410 for 1,000 credits at $0.41 and $250 at the $0.25 top tier, and ZoomInfo Enterprise not published, with a Vendr median contract of $33,500 a year.

*A ZoomInfo credit returns a full record with the fields your plan allows; Enrich.chat spends credits on each field found, and misses are free on both. The Enrich.chat bars are the monthly price of the plan that fits each list, while the GTM AI bars are credit purchases, so the two are not like for like. Pro-rated at each plan's own credit rate, the emails use $2.90 of credits and the emails plus mobiles $46.80. The top-tier GTM AI rate needs a $25,000 top-up, and GTM AI's 70% first-purchase offer is not counted. Sources: [GTM AI pricing](https://gtm.ai/pricing), [Vendr](https://www.vendr.com/marketplace/zoominfo), [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).*

Enrich.chat fits when your agent or app needs contact data on demand. Your agent adds the [MCP server](https://enrich.chat/install/) at enrich.chat/mcp, or reads [agents.md](https://enrich.chat/agents.md) once and then calls a plain HTTPS API, in ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, n8n or your own code. The free tier needs no signup, and every email and mobile comes back with its status. A LinkedIn URL works as a lookup key, and Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn. The [data API for AI agents](https://enrich.chat/agents/) page shows the setup.

Enrich.chat has two honest gaps next to ZoomInfo:

- **No intent data, scoops or org charts.** Enrich.chat returns people, work emails, mobiles and company profiles. If you sell on buying signals, ZoomInfo covers more ground.
- **No Chrome extension, dialer or SDKs yet.** Enrich.chat returns data, and SDKs are planned. Your agent can already use the [MCP server](https://enrich.chat/install/) or call the API directly after reading agents.md.

For a wider view, see our list of [ZoomInfo alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/zoominfo/), the [Apollo vs ZoomInfo comparison](https://enrich.chat/compare/apollo-vs-zoominfo/), the [Apollo API guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-api/) and [People Data Labs pricing](https://enrich.chat/blog/people-data-labs-pricing/). Then test on a few of your own rows before you sign anything:

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to find verified work emails and mobiles for these contacts, mark misses as not found, and tell me how many matched and the total credits_used: [paste name and company per row]
```

## Frequently asked questions

### Is the ZoomInfo API free?

Partly. Search, Lookup and Find Similar calls never use credits, but enriching a record does. ZoomInfo's self-serve [GTM AI plan](https://gtm.ai/pricing) gives each new account 1,000 data credits and 1,000 AI credits once, with no card, and API access at 5 requests a second. After that, data credits cost $0.45 to $0.25 each, as of October 15, 2026. Enterprise API access comes with a paid ZoomInfo contract.

### How do I get a ZoomInfo API key?

The current ZoomInfo API has no static key. You create an app in the ZoomInfo Developer Portal, or in GTM AI if you are self-serve, and get a client ID and client secret. Your server trades them for a short-lived bearer token through the [Client Credentials flow](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/client-credentials-flow). The legacy Enterprise API used a client ID and private key from the Admin Portal to make a JWT that lasts one hour.

### What is the ZoomInfo API rate limit?

It depends on your package. On October 15, 2026, ZoomInfo's [rate limits page](https://docs.gtm.ai/docs/rate-limits) listed 5 requests a second for Builder, 25 for Standard and 35 for Scaling. Hourly and daily caps apply on top, such as 54,000 an hour and 648,000 a day on Standard. Over a limit, you get HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. Each enrich call takes up to 25 records.

### Does the ZoomInfo API charge for no matches?

No. ZoomInfo's [Enrich Contacts reference](https://docs.gtm.ai/reference/enrichinterface_enrichcontact) says a No match result or an error code is not charged. A matched record costs one credit the first time your organization enriches it in 12 months, and Enterprise accounts can re-enrich it free during that window. Filters such as requiredFields can turn a weak match into a non-match, which also costs nothing.

### Is there a ZoomInfo MCP server?

Yes. ZoomInfo runs a hosted MCP server that draws on the same data and AI credit pools as the API and the web app, according to the [GTM AI credits page](https://gtm.ai/docs/mcp/credits). MCP enrichment takes up to 10 records per call, and it can only use pooled bulk credits, not monthly ones. Our [ZoomInfo MCP guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/zoominfo-mcp/) covers setup, limits and alternatives.

### What is a cheaper alternative to the ZoomInfo API?

If you need work emails, mobiles and profiles rather than intent data, a credit-plan API usually costs less. Enrich.chat sells monthly credit plans, Growth $29 for 100,000 credits, Scale $90 for 500,000 credits, Pro $299 for 2,500,000 credits, with unlimited seats and no annual contract. A work email costs 10 credits, a mobile 250, and a lookup that finds nothing costs 0 credits. Each IP gets 10 free lookups a day without signup. See our list of [ZoomInfo alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/zoominfo/) for more options.
