# Lead lists, tags and CSV or Excel export for the people you find

Save people and companies from search, add a tag and a note, reveal contacts when you are ready and export the list. Your team shares the lists, and a reveal is paid once.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 19, 2026.

**Short answer:** Enrich.chat lists let you save people or companies from search, add a tag and a note to each one, reveal their contacts later and export the list as CSV or Excel. A whole team shares its lists. A reveal spends credits once: 10 for a work email and 250 for a mobile, and opening it again is free.

## Key takeaways

- Save people or companies from search into lists. Each list holds one kind, and each row takes a tag and a note.
- A reveal is paid once: a work email found uses 10 credits and a mobile 250. Nothing found is free, and opening a revealed contact again is free.
- Export this page, selected rows or up to 1,000 results per search as CSV or Excel, or export a whole list. List exports leave out do-not-contact entries.
- A team shares its lists, saved searches and revealed contacts, and the owner's plan pays for everyone. There is no CRM sync, so you export a file and import it.

## A short list of things worth keeping

- **People and company lists.** Save people or companies from any search with + List. One list holds one kind, and your whole team sees it.
- **Tags and notes on every row.** Add a tag and a note to each saved row, and edit them in place. Both come out in the CSV.
- **Reveal once, pay once.** A work email found uses 10 credits and a mobile 250. Nothing found is free.
- **Contacts stay in your account.** Revealed emails and mobiles stay put, for the whole team. Lists and searches show them again at no charge.
- **Saved searches.** Keep a set of filters, give it a name and run it again from the Saved searches screen. Your team sees it too.
- **CSV and Excel export.** Export this page, selected rows, up to 1,000 results, or a whole list as CSV or Excel. List exports leave out do-not-contact entries.

## From search to a CSV you can use

1. **Search and save.** Run a people or company search. Tick the rows you want and press + List.
2. **Tag, note and reveal.** Add a tag and a note to each row. Reveal emails or mobiles for the people you will contact.
3. **Export the CSV.** Press Export CSV on the list, or export it to Excel. Your do-not-contact entries are left out of the file.

## How do lists work in Enrich.chat?

A list is a saved set of people or companies in your Enrich.chat [dashboard](https://enrich.chat/app/). You build it from search: tick the rows you want, press + List, and choose a list or make a new one. Each list holds one kind of row, either people or companies. Adding a row to a list uses no credits, and everyone on your team sees the list.

The Lists screen shows each list as a card with its name, its kind and how many rows it holds. Open a list to see a table. A people list shows the person, company, contact, tag and note. A company list shows the company, industry, size, tag and note, plus a People button that finds the people at that company. From the list page you can reveal emails, export a CSV, rename the list or delete it.

**Figure 1: A people list in the dashboard.** A drawing of a people list called Q4 logistics VPs with three people. The toolbar has Reveal emails and Export CSV buttons. The table has columns for person, company, contact, tag and note. One person shows a revealed email marked verified. One person has Email and Mobile reveal buttons that show their credit cost. One person shows a revealed email marked catch_all. Tags and notes are editable boxes.

*A people list as it appears in the dashboard. The orange buttons are where credits are spent. The people and companies are made up. Source: the Lists screen in the [dashboard](https://enrich.chat/app/).*

A list keeps who you found, your tags and notes, and any contacts you revealed. Deleting a list deletes the list and its notes. The contacts you revealed stay in the account. To start a list from a search, see [people search](https://enrich.chat/features/people-search/) and [company search](https://enrich.chat/features/company-search/).

## When does a list cost credits?

A list spends credits at one moment: when you reveal a contact. A work email found uses 10 credits and a mobile found uses 250. If nothing is found, the reveal uses 0. Once a contact is revealed, opening it again is free, whether you see it in a list or in a search, and a teammate's reveal is shared with the whole team.

Two things use credits before that. On a plan, each person or company a search shows uses 5 credits, so a page of 25 results uses 125 credits. On the free tier (10 lookups a day), a search uses one lookup however many rows it shows. Counts are free, so run the live count first and narrow the filters until the list is the size you want.

**Figure 2: Where a list spends credits.** Five steps in the life of a saved contact. Step 1, search: on a plan each row shown uses 5 credits, and on the free tier a search uses one lookup. Step 2, add to a list: 0 credits. Step 3, reveal: an email uses 10 credits and a mobile 250, and nothing found is free. Step 4, the contact is kept in the team's account and opening it again uses 0 credits. Step 5, export the list as a CSV: 0 credits, with do-not-contact entries left out.

*The credits a saved contact uses, step by step. Only steps 1 and 3 spend credits, and a reveal is paid once. Source: [Enrich.chat agent docs](https://enrich.chat/agents.md).*

Here is the maths for a worked list. Say you save 300 people and reveal an email for each. If every email is found, that is 3,000 credits. Adding mobiles for the 40 best prospects adds 10,000, so the full list uses 13,000 credits. That fits the Growth plan at $29 a month. Reveal mobiles last, because they cost the most.

The screen protects you from big surprises. Before it reveals many emails at once, it shows the most it could use and asks you to confirm. It asks before each mobile reveal too. Plans bill monthly with unlimited seats, a team shares one credit pool, and the [pricing page](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) has a calculator.

## How do tags, notes and saved searches work?

Tags and notes are two text boxes on each row of a list, and your team sees them. Type a tag such as "warm" and a note such as "intro call booked", and the change saves when you leave the box. Both come out in the CSV as the tag and note columns.

A saved search keeps a set of filters, not a set of people, and your team shares it. Set up filters on People or Companies, choose Save search and give it a name. The Saved searches screen lists each one with its type, its filters, when you saved it and when you last ran it. Press Run to run it again. It costs the same as any other search.

Use a list when you want to keep these exact people. Use a saved search when you want to ask the same question again. A good routine is one saved search per segment, one list per campaign.

## How do you export leads to CSV?

You can export from two places, a search or a list, and both give you a CSV file or an Excel file. A search export is a quick copy of what you are looking at. A list export is for the people you decided to keep.

| Export | What you get | Credits |
| --- | --- | --- |
| This page of results | The rows on the page, up to 25 | None extra, the rows were already shown |
| Selected rows | Only the rows you ticked | None extra |
| More results | 25 to 1,000 rows from one search, fetched page by page | On a plan, 5 per person or company returned. On the free tier, one lookup per page of 25 |
| A list, with Export CSV | Every row in the list, with your tag and note | None, and do-not-contact entries are left out |

A people file has columns for name, title, company, company website, level, function, country, LinkedIn URL, work email with its status, and mobile. A company file has name, website, industry, size, revenue band, founded, location and LinkedIn URL. The email and mobile columns are filled only for people you have already revealed. A search export never reveals anyone for you. Export to Excel and you get an .xlsx file.

**Figure 3: Four ways to export a file.** Three exports start from search results: this page with up to 25 rows, selected rows, and more results from 25 to 1,000 rows, which uses credits per row returned on a plan. A fourth export starts from a list and passes through the do-not-contact filter, which leaves matching entries out. Search exports and Bulk enrich files apply it too. All four produce a CSV or Excel file with name, title, company, level, country, LinkedIn URL, work email and status, and mobile. A list export also adds tag and note. Email and mobile are filled only for people you revealed.

*The four exports, each as CSV or Excel. Search exports never reveal anyone for you. Your do-not-contact entries are applied to search exports, list exports and Bulk enrich files. Source: [Enrich.chat agent docs](https://enrich.chat/agents.md).*

Files are comma-separated text with a header row, the layout [RFC 4180](https://www.rfc-editor.org/rfc/rfc4180) describes. One detail matters for spreadsheet users. A cell that starts with =, +, - or @ can run as a formula when you open a CSV, which [OWASP calls CSV injection](https://community.owasp.org/attacks/CSV_Injection). Enrich.chat writes such a cell with a leading apostrophe so a spreadsheet shows it as text. A phone number such as +1 415 555 0142 is left as it is. In an Excel file every cell is plain text, so a value that looks like a formula never runs.

## How do lists work with do-not-contact and opt-outs?

Your team's shared do-not-contact list is applied when you export a list, and also in search, in Bulk enrich files and in background jobs. On the Do not contact screen you add emails, company websites (which covers every person at that company) or LinkedIn profiles. Anyone who matches is left out of every list export. Opt-outs from [enrich.chat/opt-out/](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/) are applied to every result too, and a person who opts out after you revealed them no longer shows with that contact. The [do-not-contact feature](https://enrich.chat/features/do-not-contact/) has the details.

A suppression list is the usual way to honor opt-outs. The ICO says [business contacts can object to direct marketing](https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/direct-marketing-and-privacy-and-electronic-communications/business-to-business-marketing/) and recommends adding them to a suppression list. The FTC says [an opt-out request must be honored within 10 business days](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business), and that CAN-SPAM has no business-to-business exemption. This is not legal advice, and you are responsible for the laws that apply to your outreach.

## Can a team share lists in Enrich.chat?

Yes. The owner of a plan invites people by email at [Team](https://enrich.chat/app/#/team) in the dashboard, and the whole team shares lists, saved searches, revealed contacts and the Do not contact list. The owner's plan and credits pay for everyone from one credit pool, and plans have unlimited seats. A member searches, reveals, builds lists and runs jobs. A viewer reads lists and saved searches but cannot spend credits or change anything. Read [team workspaces](https://enrich.chat/features/team-workspaces/) for the roles in full.

## What are the limits of lists and export?

Lists are simple on purpose. These are the gaps to know before you rely on them.

- **Team limits.** A team shares its lists and one credit pool. There is no SSO or SAML, and you cannot set a credit limit for one person.
- **No CRM sync.** There is no native HubSpot or Salesforce app. Export the file and import it, or [enrich contacts in HubSpot through the API](https://enrich.chat/integrations/hubspot/).
- **No sending and no alerts.** A list does not email anyone, and it does not watch for changes.
- **1,000 results per search.** A search pages 40 times at 25 a page. Narrow the filters to go deeper, and save one search per segment.
- **Dashboard only.** The API has no list endpoints. An agent can search, keep the ids and reveal with `/v1/person?person_id=`, but the file it builds is its own, not a dashboard list.

```
### When is another lead list tool the better choice?
Pick a CRM if you need deal stages or records pushed to you automatically, because Enrich.chat has no CRM sync. The free [lead list builder](https://enrich.chat/tools/lead-list-builder/) runs one search at a time and does not save anything. If your starting point is a CSV you already own, use [bulk enrichment](https://enrich.chat/features/bulk-enrichment/) to add emails and company data first, then save the people found to a list.
## Frequently asked questions
### Can I export leads to CSV from Enrich.chat?
Yes. In People or Companies search, press Export to get this page of results, your selected rows, or up to 1,000 results from one search. On a list, press Export CSV to get every row with its tag and note. Lists and search results also export as an Excel .xlsx file. Search exports leave the email and mobile columns empty for people you have not revealed. List exports also leave out your do-not-contact entries.
### Do I pay again when I open a contact I already revealed?
No. A reveal spends credits once: a work email found uses 10 credits and a mobile found uses 250. Revealed contacts stay in your account, so opening them again from a list or a search is free. If a reveal finds nothing, it uses 0 credits. Saving a row to a list also uses no credits.
### What is the difference between a list and a saved search?
A list keeps specific people or companies, with your tags, notes and any contacts you revealed. A saved search keeps a set of filters and nothing else. Press Run on a saved search to run the same question again, and it costs the same as any other search. Your team shares both. Use a list for the people you chose and a saved search for a segment you will revisit.
### Can my team share a list in Enrich.chat?
Yes. Lists, saved searches, revealed contacts and the Do not contact list are shared by the whole team. The owner invites people by email, and the owner's plan and credits pay for everyone from one credit pool. Roles are owner, admin, member and viewer, and a viewer can read lists but cannot spend credits. See [team workspaces](https://enrich.chat/features/team-workspaces/).
### Does Enrich.chat sync lists to HubSpot or Salesforce?
No. There is no CRM sync and no native HubSpot or Salesforce app. Export the list as a CSV and import it with your CRM's own import tool. To fill contacts that already sit in a CRM, call the API from a workflow, as the [HubSpot enrichment guide](https://enrich.chat/integrations/hubspot/) explains. Lists are a dashboard feature, so the API has no list endpoints.
### Are people on my do-not-contact list left out of exports?
Yes, for list exports. Add emails, company websites or LinkedIn profiles on the Do not contact screen, and matching people are left out of every list export. Your team shares the list, and background jobs apply it too. Opt-outs made at [enrich.chat/opt-out/](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/) are applied to every result as well. You are still responsible for CAN-SPAM, GDPR and TCPA, and this is not legal advice.
