# Clay enrichment with an HTTP API column: work emails and mobiles from Enrich.chat

Enrich.chat is not a native Clay integration. You call it from Clay's HTTP API column, one GET request per row, and write the email, its status and the mobile back to your table.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 15, 2026.

**Short answer:** Enrich.chat has no native Clay integration. You add it with Clay's HTTP API column, a GET request to `/v1/person` for each row, which [Clay's pricing page](https://www.clay.com/pricing) lists on Growth and Enterprise. Each call uses 1 Clay Action. Enrich.chat uses 10 credits per work email found and 250 per mobile, and 0 for a miss.

## Key takeaways

- Enrich.chat is not in Clay's provider list. You call `GET https://enrich.chat/v1/person` from an HTTP API column and map your LinkedIn URL column to `linkedin_url`.
- Clay's pricing page lists HTTP API integrations on Growth (from $495 a month) and Enterprise, not on Free or Launch. Clay's 14-day trial includes the column.
- Each HTTP API call uses 1 Clay Action, and Clay's docs list no data credit charge for it. Enrich.chat credits are billed separately, and a miss uses 0.
- Return the whole response once, then use Add as column for the email, its status, the mobile and its line type. Filter on the status before you send.

## Contact data inside a Clay table, from one GET request

- **An HTTP API column, not an app.** Clay's HTTP API column sends one GET request per row. Enrich.chat has no native Clay listing, so there is nothing to install.
- **Keys your table already has.** Send a LinkedIn URL, a work email, or a name plus company website. Use the best key each row has.
- **A status next to every value.** Each email comes back verified, catch_all or unknown, and each mobile with a line type, so Clay can filter before you send.
- **Credits only on matches.** 10 credits per work email, 250 per mobile. A row with no match uses 0 Enrich.chat credits.
- **One call, several columns.** Keep the whole response, then use Add as column to split the email, status, mobile and line type out of it.
- **Test before you build.** 10 lookups a day need no signup, so you can check the response in a terminal before you set up the column.

## From a LinkedIn URL column to a checked email in Clay

1. **Add an HTTP API column.** In your table, click Add enrichment, choose HTTP API and open Configure. Set GET and `https://enrich.chat/v1/person`.
2. **Map your columns.** Add `linkedin_url` with a slash reference to your LinkedIn column, and `fields` set to `email, mobile`. Click Test on one row.
3. **Split out the values.** Open a result cell, hover over a key and click Add as column for the email, its status, the mobile and its line type.

## Is there a native Enrich.chat integration in Clay?

No. Enrich.chat has no native Clay integration and no Clay marketplace listing. You connect it with Clay's HTTP API column, which [Clay says](https://university.clay.com/docs/http-api-integration-overview) sends or retrieves data from any endpoint. Each table row makes one GET request to the [person enrichment API](https://enrich.chat/api/person-enrichment/), and the JSON response lands in the table.

The column is a paid Clay feature. [Clay's pricing page](https://www.clay.com/pricing), checked October 15, 2026, marks HTTP API integrations as not included on Free and Launch, and included on Growth (from $495 a month, or $446 billed annually) and Enterprise. Clay [moved the column](https://www.clay.com/blog/introducing-clays-new-pricing) from Explorer to Growth on March 11, 2026, so older guides that say Explorer are out of date. [Clay's billing docs](https://university.clay.com/docs/plans-and-billing) say the 14-day trial includes it.

**Figure 1: Which route fits your Clay plan.** Four Clay plans compared on October 15, 2026. Free costs $0 a month with 500 Actions and no HTTP API column. Launch starts at $185 a month with 15,000 Actions and no HTTP API column. Growth starts at $495 a month with 40,000 Actions and includes the HTTP API column. Enterprise is custom and includes it. Free and Launch users can run a CSV round trip or start the 14-day trial, and Growth and Enterprise users can call Enrich.chat from an HTTP API column.

*Pick your route by Clay plan. Sources: [Clay's pricing page](https://www.clay.com/pricing) and [billing docs](https://university.clay.com/docs/plans-and-billing).*

On Free or Launch, use the CSV route below. Our [Clay pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/clay-pricing/) has the full plan table.

## How do you set up the HTTP API column in Clay?

Add an HTTP API enrichment, set the method to GET, and map your LinkedIn URL column to `linkedin_url`. These steps use the labels in [Clay's HTTP API guide](https://university.clay.com/docs/http-api-integration-overview). Enrich.chat never logs in to LinkedIn: the URL is only a lookup key.

1. Open the table, click **Add enrichment**, search for **HTTP API** and open the **Configure** tab. The **Generate** tab can build the settings from a description and a docs link such as `https://enrich.chat/agents.md`. Check its result on Configure.
2. Set the method to **GET** and the API endpoint URL to `https://enrich.chat/v1/person`.
3. Under **Query string parameters**, add `linkedin_url` and type `/` to pick your LinkedIn URL column. Add `fields` with the value `email, mobile`. Ask only for what you need: a mobile uses 250 credits, an email 10.
4. Switch on **Remove empty fields from request**, so blank cells are not sent.
5. Set **Rate limiting**, a **Request limit** and a **Duration (ms)**, to stay under the limits in the [API reference](https://enrich.chat/docs/).
6. In the column's run settings, add an **Only run if** condition: the LinkedIn URL cell is not empty.
7. Click **Test** to run one row and read the response. Then run about 10 rows, as [Clay's credit tips](https://university.clay.com/docs/clay-credit-conservation) advise, before the whole table.

The free tier needs no key, so leave **Headers** empty for a test. A key is optional, but plan on one for a real table: Clay runs the request on its own servers, so the 10 lookups a day per IP address are not yours alone. Get a key at [enrich.chat/account/](https://enrich.chat/account/), then click **Select header account** and **+ Add account** and add `Authorization` with the value `Bearer pp_...`. Clay warns that headers typed into the column are visible in plain text to anyone with access to it.

**Figure 2: One Clay row, one GET request to Enrich.chat.** A Clay table row holds a LinkedIn URL and two blank cells for a work email and a mobile. An HTTP API column sends the URL to Enrich.chat as a GET request to /v1/person with fields set to email, mobile, which counts as 1 Clay Action. The response keys work_email.value, work_email.status, mobile.value and mobile.line become four new Clay columns with Add as column. Clay counts 1 Action per call and lists no data credit charge. Enrich.chat uses 10 credits per work email found and 250 per mobile found, and 0 credits when found is false.

*One GET request per row, with a meter on each side. Sources: [Clay's HTTP API guide](https://university.clay.com/docs/http-api-integration-overview), [Actions guide](https://university.clay.com/docs/actions-data-credits) and [Enrich.chat agent docs](https://enrich.chat/agents.md).*

### How do you get the email, status and mobile into their own columns?

The response lands in the cell as JSON. Click the cell to open **Cell details**, hover over `work_email.value`, click **Add as column**, then name it and click **Create column**, per [Clay's table columns guide](https://university.clay.com/docs/table-columns-overview). Repeat for `work_email.status`, `mobile.value`, `mobile.line` and `credits_used`. The lookup runs once, in the HTTP API column. Do not add one HTTP API column per field: each would repeat the request and use credits again.

Keep the status columns. `work_email.status` is `verified`, `catch_all` or `unknown`, and `mobile.line` is `mobile` or `unknown`. A [catch-all](https://enrich.chat/tools/catch-all-checker/) domain accepts every address, so the mailbox cannot be confirmed. Clay's own email waterfall treats catch-all emails as valid by default, per [Clay's People Data lesson](https://university.clay.com/lessons/enriching-people-data), so filter on `verified` before you send. Treat every contact as a strong lead, not a guarantee.

### What if a row has no LinkedIn URL?

Send another key the row has. Add a second HTTP API column with `email` set to the work email column, or with `name` and `company` set to the person's name and the company website, like acme.com. Company names are not supported yet. Set its **Only run if** to run when the first column found no email.

## What does a lookup cost in Clay and in Enrich.chat?

Two meters run side by side. Clay counts 1 Action for each HTTP API call, and Enrich.chat uses 10 credits for a work email found and 250 for a mobile, with 0 for a miss. [Clay's Actions guide](https://university.clay.com/docs/actions-data-credits) lists HTTP API calls among the work that uses an Action, and lists no data credit charge for them.

| | Clay | Enrich.chat |
| --- | --- | --- |
| One lookup uses | 1 Action, on Growth or Enterprise | 10 credits per work email, 250 per mobile |
| Nothing found | No Action or credit when an enrichment returns no data, per [Clay's FAQ](https://www.clay.com/faq/do-unsuccessful-searches-consume-data-credits-what-about-actions) | 0 credits when `found` is false |
| Free to try | 14-day trial with 1,000 data credits | 10 lookups a day, no signup |
| Where you read usage | Settings, then Usage, or Table history | `credits_used` in every response |

One gap: Clay's FAQ covers an enrichment that returns no data or an error, not a valid HTTP API response that says `found: false`. Test 10 rows and compare your Actions in Usage before and after.

**Figure 3: What 1,000 Clay rows use on each side.** One thousand Clay rows, each asking Enrich.chat for a work email and a mobile in one call, use 1,000 Clay Actions, which is 2.5% of the 40,000 Actions that Growth starts with. On the Enrich.chat side the same rows use 260,000 credits if every row matches, which is about half of the Scale plan's 500,000 monthly credits and fits that plan at $90 a month. Clay Growth starts at $495 a month.

*Illustrative maths with public rates: [Clay's pricing](https://www.clay.com/pricing) and [Enrich.chat pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/).*

Take 1,000 rows that each ask for a work email and a mobile. Clay uses 1,000 Actions, about $5 of the 40,000 Growth starts with, which [Clay prices](https://www.clay.com/pricing) at $205 a month. If every row matches, Enrich.chat uses 260,000 credits. That fits the Scale plan at $90 a month, and pro-rated at that plan's rate the list uses $46.80 of credits.

The Clay plan is the bigger bill if it is new spend, because Growth starts at $495 a month. For contact data alone, compare it with the [Enrich.chat plans](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) and our [Clay alternatives](https://enrich.chat/alternatives/clay/). If you already run tables on Growth, each extra row costs little.

## How do you use Enrich.chat behind Clay's own waterfall?

Add the HTTP API column after Clay's work email waterfall, and run it only on rows the waterfall left empty. In **Only run if**, test that the waterfall's email column is empty. [Clay's waterfall guide](https://university.clay.com/docs/building-a-data-waterfall) describes several providers tried in a set order. A separate column keeps the Enrich.chat call, its status and its Action easy to see. Our [waterfall enrichment guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/waterfall-enrichment/) compares the options.

Run one column with `fields=email` on every row. Run a second with `fields=mobile` only on rows that pass your filters, because a mobile uses 250 credits and a work email 10. Keep `work_email.status` next to the email, so a formula can hold back `catch_all` rows.

## What if your Clay plan has no HTTP API column?

Enrich the table outside Clay and import the file. Export the table as a CSV, which [Clay's Actions guide](https://university.clay.com/docs/actions-data-credits) says uses no Action or data credit. Give the file to Claude Code, Cursor or another agent with the prompt below, or run the Python tab at the top of this page.

```text
Use www.enrich.chat to enrich clay-export.csv with fields=email,mobile. Use the LinkedIn URL column, add work_email, email_status, mobile and mobile_line columns, mark misses as not found, keep every other column, and tell me the total credits_used.
```

Then import the result with **Tools** and **Import**, as [Clay's CSV guide](https://university.clay.com/docs/csv-import-overview) describes. Choose **Create new table** and **Save and don't run**, so no enrichment fires on import. The [Google Sheets](https://enrich.chat/integrations/google-sheets/), [n8n](https://enrich.chat/blog/n8n-lead-enrichment/) and [HubSpot](https://enrich.chat/integrations/hubspot/) pages show other ways to call the same endpoint.

## When is Clay's own enrichment the better choice?

Clay's built-in steps suit teams that want one tool to source, enrich and route data. Its marketplace has [150+ data partners](https://www.clay.com/pricing), and a waterfall can try several in order. Use the HTTP API column when you want Enrich.chat as a step of your own: a LinkedIn URL in, and a work email and mobile out, each with a status.

### What to watch out for

- Enrich.chat has no native Clay app or listing. You own the column, its settings and its mapping.
- The column needs Clay Growth or Enterprise. Without it, use the CSV route or the trial.
- Enrich.chat looks up one row per call. It has no batch endpoint, visual table builder, sequencer or Chrome extension.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I use Enrich.chat in Clay?

Yes, through Clay's HTTP API column. Enrich.chat has no native Clay integration or marketplace listing. You add an HTTP API enrichment to a table, set the method to GET, point it at `https://enrich.chat/v1/person`, and map your LinkedIn URL column to `linkedin_url`. Each row sends one request, and the JSON comes back into the cell. [Clay lists the column](https://www.clay.com/pricing) on its Growth and Enterprise plans.

### Which Clay plan do I need for the HTTP API column?

Growth or Enterprise. [Clay's pricing page](https://www.clay.com/pricing) marks HTTP API integrations as not included on Free and Launch and included on Growth, which starts at $495 a month or $446 billed annually, checked October 15, 2026. [Clay moved the feature](https://www.clay.com/blog/introducing-clays-new-pricing) from Explorer to Growth in March 2026. The 14-day trial also includes it, per [Clay's billing docs](https://university.clay.com/docs/plans-and-billing).

### How many Clay Actions does an Enrich.chat lookup use?

One Action per HTTP API call, per [Clay's Actions guide](https://university.clay.com/docs/actions-data-credits). Growth starts at 40,000 Actions a month, so 1,000 rows use 2.5% of that. The guide lists no data credit charge for the call. Clay's FAQ says an enrichment that returns no data uses no Action, but it does not say how a valid response with `found` set to false is metered. Test 10 rows and check Usage.

### Do I need an API key to call Enrich.chat from Clay?

No. The free tier needs no key and gives each IP address 10 lookups a day. A lookup that finds nothing does not count. Clay runs the request on its own servers, so that allowance is not yours alone, and a real table is better off with a key. Log in at [enrich.chat/account/](https://enrich.chat/account/), pick a plan, copy the key, and save it as a Clay header account with `Authorization: Bearer pp_...`.

### How do I get the email status into its own Clay column?

Click the HTTP API result cell to open Cell details, hover over `work_email.status`, click Add as column, name it and click Create column, per [Clay's table columns guide](https://university.clay.com/docs/table-columns-overview). Do the same for `work_email.value`, `mobile.value` and `mobile.line`. The status is verified, catch_all or unknown, so you can filter before you send.

### How do I stop Clay from running lookups on every row?

Add an Only run if condition in the column's run settings, such as the LinkedIn URL column not being empty, per [Clay's credit tips](https://university.clay.com/docs/clay-credit-conservation). Turn Auto-run off while you build, use Test on one row, then run about 10 rows. A row the condition skips sends no request, so it costs nothing in Clay or in Enrich.chat.
