# Find the email and phone number behind any LinkedIn profile

Paste a LinkedIn profile URL to get the person's name, title, company, work email and mobile. Every email and phone comes with its status, and we never log in to LinkedIn.

By Enrich.chat Editorial. Updated October 15, 2026.

## What you get

- Work email with its status: verified, catch-all or unknown
- Mobile number marked as mobile or unknown
- Name, title and company, so you know you found the right person

**Short answer:** To find an email from LinkedIn, open the profile's Contact info first. LinkedIn only shows details the member added, and [only to 1st-degree connections](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a545600/what-people-can-see-on-your-profile). For anyone else, paste the profile URL into the tool above to get the work email and mobile, each with a status, without logging in to LinkedIn or installing an extension.

## Key takeaways

- LinkedIn's Contact info is visible to 1st-degree connections only, and it holds only what the member chose to add.
- LinkedIn's User Agreement bans browser plugins that scrape profiles, and accounts that use them can be restricted.
- Free extension tiers are small: Kaspr gives 5 phone credits a month, and Lusha charges 5 of its 40 monthly credits per phone.
- This tool never logs in to LinkedIn and returns a status for every email and mobile it finds.

## Three steps, a few seconds

1. **Copy the profile URL.** Open the person's LinkedIn profile and copy the address that contains linkedin.com/in/.
2. **Paste it and look up.** We match the person and return the work email and mobile, each with a status.
3. **Read the status, then reach out.** Send to verified emails, treat catch-all as risky, and get consent before you text or autodial a mobile.

## How do I find someone's email or phone number from LinkedIn?

Check the profile's Contact info first. If it is empty, paste the profile URL into the tool above to get the work email and mobile, each with a status.

There are three ways to do it, from slow and free to fast:

1. **Open Contact info.** On the profile, select Contact info in the introduction section. LinkedIn shows a connection's email or phone [only if that person chose to share it](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a543988/viewing-contact-information-of-a-connection?lang=en).
2. **Export your connections.** LinkedIn lets you download a list of your connections. The file [only shows email addresses for connections who allowed it](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a566336/export-connections-from-linkedin), and it never covers people outside your 1st-degree network.
3. **Look up the profile URL.** Paste any address that contains linkedin.com/in/ into the tool. It returns the name, title, company, work email and mobile. Each lookup uses one of your 10 free lookups, and a lookup with no match is not counted.

The first two routes only work for people you are already connected to. You can run the third on any profile URL, connected or not. For step-by-step guides to the manual methods, read [how to find someone's email on LinkedIn](https://enrich.chat/blog/find-email-on-linkedin/) and [how to get a phone number from LinkedIn](https://enrich.chat/blog/find-phone-number-from-linkedin/).

**Figure 1: What LinkedIn shows a non-connection vs what a URL lookup returns.** On the left, the Contact info a 2nd-degree member sees: the profile link is shown, email and phone are limited to connections, and a website may show. On the right, a URL lookup of the same profile returns the name, title, company, a verified work email and a mobile number with its line type.

*By default, only 1st-degree connections see a member's email and phone, and only if the member added them. The lookup result uses example data. ## What contact info does LinkedIn show on a profile?

LinkedIn shows contact details to your 1st-degree connections, and only the details each member added. Most people you want to reach are not your connections, so you often see no email and no phone at all.

The [Contact info section](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a565128/contact-info-section-of-your-profile) can hold a profile link, an email address, a phone number, a website, messenger accounts and a birthday. Here is who can see each part, based on LinkedIn's Help Center:

| Detail | Who can see it | Source |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Contact info section | Your 1st-degree connections | [What People Can See on Your Profile](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a545600/what-people-can-see-on-your-profile) |
| Primary email | Direct connections by default. The member can hide it or open it to 2nd-degree connections or anyone. | [Manage who can see your email address](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/261) |
| Phone number | No one, unless the member adds it to Contact info | [How LinkedIn uses your phone number](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1342405) |
| Website, blog, Twitter handle | May be visible to all members | [What People Can See on Your Profile](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a545600/what-people-can-see-on-your-profile) |
| Connections export | Emails only for connections who allowed it, and no one outside your 1st-degree network | [Export connections from LinkedIn](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a566336/export-connections-from-linkedin) |

So LinkedIn itself is a good source for people you already know, and a poor one for new prospects. If you would rather message people inside LinkedIn, our [Sales Navigator pricing guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/linkedin-sales-navigator-pricing/) explains LinkedIn's paid options.

## Are LinkedIn email extractor extensions safe for your account?

Not entirely. LinkedIn's Help Center says it does not allow third-party software or browser extensions that scrape its site, change how it looks or automate activity on it. It warns that [members who use these tools can have their accounts restricted or shut down](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1341387).

The rule comes from [Section 8.2 of the LinkedIn User Agreement](https://www.linkedin.com/legal/user-agreement). It bans software, including browser plugins and add-ons, that scrapes or copies profiles. Section 3.4 of the same agreement lets LinkedIn restrict, suspend or close accounts that break it. LinkedIn also goes to court over scraping. In [July 2025 it said it had resolved its lawsuit against Proxycurl](https://news.linkedin.com/2025/LinkedInWinsLegalBattleToProtectMemberData), a data company it accused of unauthorized scraping. Our [Proxycurl alternative guide](https://enrich.chat/blog/proxycurl-alternative/) covers what that meant for API buyers.

To be fair to extension makers, LinkedIn does not publish a list of banned tools. Still, an extension runs inside your signed-in session. If LinkedIn decides a tool crosses the line, the account it restricts is yours, not the vendor's.

### How a lookup by URL is different

The tool on this page never logs in to LinkedIn and never uses your LinkedIn account. It treats the profile URL as a lookup key, the same way it would treat an email address or a name and company. Nothing runs inside your LinkedIn session, so no extension activity is tied to you.

**Figure 2: Browser extension vs lookup by URL.** A browser extension runs while you are signed in to LinkedIn, reads the page you open and acts inside your LinkedIn session, so LinkedIn may restrict your account. A lookup by URL takes a pasted profile address, finds the contact without a LinkedIn login and returns an email and mobile with a status, so your LinkedIn account is never used.

## How do free LinkedIn contact finders compare?

Most free LinkedIn contact finders are browser extensions with small allowances, and a phone number costs several times more credits than an email. The table lists each free tier as shown on the vendor's own pricing page on October 15, 2026.

| Tool | How you use it | Free tier | Phone numbers |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Lusha | Browser extension and web app | [40 credits a month](https://www.lusha.com/pricing/) | 5 credits each, so up to 8 a month |
| Kaspr | Chrome extension on LinkedIn | [15 B2B email, 5 phone and 5 direct email credits a month](https://www.kaspr.io/pricing) | 5 a month |
| ContactOut | Browser extension and search portal | [5 emails, 5 phones and 5 exports a day](https://contactout.com/pricing), listed as limited time only | 5 a day |
| Apollo | Web app plus Chrome extension | [900 credits per seat a year](https://www.apollo.io/pricing), granted monthly | 8 credits each, so about 9 a month |
| Enrich.chat | Paste a URL on this page, or call the API from your agent | 10 lookups on the website tools, plus 10 a day per IP through the API, no signup | Part of each lookup; on a plan, a mobile found uses 250 credits |

Extensions do some things well. They show contact data on the profile while you browse. Apollo's free plan also includes two email sequences, and Lusha's free plan lists email sequences and CRM integrations. If you prospect by hand inside LinkedIn all day, that setup can suit you. Our [Apollo Chrome extension review](https://enrich.chat/blog/apollo-chrome-extension/) and [comparison of LinkedIn email finders](https://enrich.chat/blog/best-linkedin-email-finder/) go deeper.

A URL lookup suits a different job: getting contacts into an AI agent, a script or a spreadsheet with no seats and no extension. Two things to know before you pick Enrich.chat. It has no Chrome extension, so you copy the URL yourself. It also has no built-in dialer or email sequencer. For lists, the same lookup runs through the [LinkedIn URL to email and mobile API](https://enrich.chat/api/linkedin-to-contact/) on monthly plans from $29 for 100,000 credits. A work email found uses 10 credits and a mobile found uses 250. A lookup that finds nothing uses 0 credits. See [pricing](https://enrich.chat/pricing/) for the details.

## What do the email and mobile statuses mean?

Each email and mobile comes with a status. Use it to decide whether to send, call or keep looking.

| Field | Status | What it means | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Email | Verified | Our records mark the mailbox as verified | Send it, following CAN-SPAM |
| Email | Catch-all | The domain accepts every address, so no single mailbox can be confirmed | Treat it as risky. Test the domain with the [catch-all checker](https://enrich.chat/tools/catch-all-checker/). |
| Email | Unknown | The mailbox could not be confirmed | Do not rely on it without another check |
| Mobile | Mobile | The number is a mobile line | Confirm the person and get consent before you call or text |
| Mobile | Unknown | The number's type could not be told | Run it through the [phone number validator](https://enrich.chat/tools/phone-number-validator/) first |

A mobile status shows the type of number, not that it works or that it belongs to the person you looked up. Confirm who you are calling before you dial. If nothing matches, the tool says so and the lookup is not counted. If you know a name and company but not the profile, try the [free email finder](https://enrich.chat/tools/email-finder/) instead.

## What rules apply when you email or call a contact from LinkedIn?

In the US, CAN-SPAM covers commercial email, including email to businesses, and the TCPA covers calls and texts to mobile phones. You are responsible for following these laws, and GDPR if you contact people in the EU. This is a summary, not legal advice.

### Email: CAN-SPAM

The core rules are in [15 U.S.C. 7704](https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/15/7704). Each commercial email needs honest header details, a subject line that does not mislead, a clear note that it is an ad, a valid postal address and a working way to opt out. You must stop emailing a person within 10 business days of their opt-out. The FTC's [CAN-SPAM compliance guide](https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance/resources/can-spam-act-compliance-guide-business) adds that the law makes no exception for business-to-business email, and that each email in violation can cost up to $53,088.

### Calls and texts: TCPA

Under the [FCC's robocall rules](https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/stop-unwanted-robocalls-and-texts), you need the person's oral or written consent before you make an autodialed or prerecorded call or text to a wireless number. Prerecorded telemarketing calls need prior written consent, and commercial texts need written consent. These rules apply even if the number is not on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Numbers also change hands. The FCC's [Reassigned Numbers Database](https://www.fcc.gov/reassigned-numbers-database) tells callers whether a number may have been reassigned, and using it can reduce TCPA liability. Anyone can ask Enrich.chat to delete their data on the [opt-out page](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/), and requests are processed within 15 days.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can you get someone's email address from LinkedIn for free?

Sometimes. If the person is a 1st-degree connection and shared an email, it is in their Contact info. LinkedIn shows a member's primary email [only to direct connections by default](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/261). For anyone else, paste their profile URL into the free tool on this page. It returns the work email with its status, and you get 10 free lookups. A lookup with no match is not counted.

### Can someone get your phone number off LinkedIn?

Not from your profile unless you put it there. LinkedIn says your phone number [won't appear on your profile unless you add it](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1342405) to the Contact info section, and that section is visible to 1st-degree connections only. Contact data tools can still return a number linked to your name. You can ask Enrich.chat to delete your data on the [opt-out page](https://enrich.chat/opt-out/), and requests are processed within 15 days.

### Is there a free way to extract phone numbers from LinkedIn?

Only for connections who added a phone to their Contact info. LinkedIn's connections export does not cover anyone outside your 1st-degree network. Free extension tiers are small: [Kaspr](https://www.kaspr.io/pricing) gives 5 phone credits a month and [ContactOut](https://contactout.com/pricing) 5 phones a day. The tool on this page gives you 10 free lookups, and each one can return a mobile and its line type.

### Will LinkedIn restrict my account for using an email finder extension?

It can. LinkedIn says members who use extensions that scrape or automate its site [risk having their accounts restricted or shut down](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1341387), under Section 8.2 of its User Agreement. LinkedIn does not name specific tools, so the risk depends on how it judges each one. A lookup by URL avoids the question, because it never logs in to LinkedIn or uses your account.

### How accurate is a LinkedIn email finder?

It depends on the tool and on the person you look up. Instead of trusting a headline accuracy claim, check whether each result comes with a status. This tool returns a status with the work email, verified, catch_all or unknown, and flags catch-all domains, which accept any address. It marks each mobile as mobile or unknown, which is the number's type, not proof that the line works or that it belongs to the person.

### Can I run LinkedIn lookups from ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. Paste the prompt from this page into your agent. It reads enrich.chat/agents.md and calls the person endpoint with the LinkedIn URL. Agents get 10 free lookups a day per IP with no signup. After that, monthly plans start at $29 for 100,000 credits. A work email found uses 10 credits, a mobile found uses 250, and a lookup with no match uses 0. See the [guide for AI agents](https://enrich.chat/agents/).
